Selena Gomez Explains How She and Benny Blanco Are Approaching Wedding Planning

Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez are days away from releasing their album I Said I Love You First on March 21. Right now, the couple is more focused on their music than wedding planning, they told Rolling Stone.
In their wide-ranging interview published today, the engaged couple gave an update on their nuptials and explained why they waited six months to go public with their relationship. They privately started seeing each other in June 2023 but ultimately revealed they were together that December. They got engaged a year later in December 2024.$13.97 at amazon.com
They waited to tell the world about their romantic involvement 'because it's a lot,' Blanco said. 'I remember us having a conversation about whether we were going to keep dating or not. We just had to make sure, because she's as big as it gets and it's a big undertaking. It's not like you date someone for a few weeks and then you're like, 'Oh, OK, bye.' So we just took it slow. Then it started becoming such a hard thing, because it was like, 'I don't want to just have dinner inside with you and have all of our dates inside and we're wearing a mask the entire date, and then we have to go hide in a car.'
'I was so sure that I was gonna marry her. I just knew,' he continued. 'It's just a very different feeling. I know when Sel wakes up, she's thinking in her head, 'How can I make this day as good as I can for Benny?' And I know I'm waking up and saying, 'How can I make this day as good for Sel?' We're just thinking about each other.'
Gomez's vision for their wedding changes daily, Blanco revealed: 'I think every day she's planned a new wedding in her head. We're very much 'take it one day at a time'-type of people. We're still not over this moment. Literally, while you were talking, she was sitting there staring at her ring.'
She added, 'Also, I genuinely feel like this is such a special time that we get to apply it to this album and really just pour our heart into it, and completely translate what we feel and bring it to the world. That's my main focus right now, at least.'
They're enjoying this stage of their relationship 'so much,' Blanco stated. 'It feels like we got engaged yesterday, but also feels like we got engaged 20 years ago. I've known her since she was 18, and so it's like we got all that stuff out of the way. By the time we're dating, it's like, whoa. My biggest regret is that we didn't get to do this earlier, like we waited this long to be together. But I know it was perfect and it was right.'
'Everything happens for a reason,' Gomez quipped.

Rollo told the outlet. Retton was arrested in West Virginia on May 17 after police in Fairmont pulled her over following a report of a person driving a Porsche erratically. According to a criminal complaint, the former athlete smelled of alcohol, was slurring her words, and failed a field sobriety test. Officers also allegedly saw a wine container in the passenger seat. Retton was charged with 'driving under influence of alcohol, controlled substances, or drugs,' and released from custody after paying a $1,500 personal recognizance bond. At 16, Retton became the first American woman to win the all-around gold medal in gymnastics at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Retton has been retired for more than 30 years, having left after winning the American Cup all-around competition for the third time in 1985. In October 2023, the Dancing with the Stars alum was hospitalized in the ICU with a rare form of pneumonia. Retton previously detailed the severity of her illness in an interview with Today. Ina and Jeffrey Garten have been married for nearly 60 years, but their love story wasn't always sunshine and roses. As Ina revealed to Willie Geist during a Sunday Sitdown Live event at City Winery, which aired on Sunday, June 1, she and Jeffrey almost didn't work out during the early days of her business. 'In the beginning, I'd work all day, and then most of the night; I'd go home at like midnight, sleep for a couple of hours, and come back at four in the morning,' she recalled during the chat, which was focused on stories in her memoir, Be Ready When the Luck Happens. Admittedly, Ina revealed that this routine while starting her business strained her relationship with Jeffrey. 'It was really difficult because I just wanted to build a business, and Jeffrey was working at the state department, and he would come on the weekends when I was really busy, and so I just was like, 'I can't. 'We took a little time apart,' she said. 'Figure, I need, you know, I'd never lived on my own. I just kind of needed to do that, and he was great. He was really, incredibly.' Eventually—and as Ina reveals in her book—Jeffrey met her at the train station in Washington in hopes of repairing the separation and tension they'd experienced. Originally, Jeffrey told her that he'd go after returning from his world tour, which he was set to embark on. When Ina told him it'd be too late, though, he changed his plans, prioritized her and their relationship, and went to therapy the very next day. 'Which was incredible,' Ina recalled.
