RM20 million new building for Kota Belud school

KOTA BELUD: The construction project for the new replacement building of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kuala Abai here was officially launched Thursday by Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek. She said the new facility comprises an administration block, an academic block with 12 classrooms, a canteen, toilets and other essential amenities, with a total cost of RM20 million.

Meanwhile, Fadhlina noted that as of July, a total of 390 dilapidated school redevelopment projects have been approved in Sabah, with a total allocation exceeding RM6 billion. PM ensures Port Dickson family receives aid
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called for immediate assistance to be provided to a family in Kampung Baru Si Rusa, Port Dickson, Negri Sembilan, who are facing hardship after the head of the household suffered a stroke. Anwar, who visited Faridah Abbas' family with his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, said the family is fully dependent on Faridah after her husband, Mohamad Ali Abdul Malek, became bedridden in 2024. "Azizah and I are deeply affected by the ordeal faced by this family. I have instructed the Implementation Coordination Unit, Prime Minister's Department to provide the necessary facilities to help Faridah and her family continue their lives," he said in a Facebook post on Sunday (July 20). He said the assistance to be channelled includes a business kiosk to be provided for Faridah to earn an income by selling local delicacies and banana fritters, as well as levelling the front portion of the family house. "Hopefully, this kindness and assistance will ease the suffering of Faridah as she has to take care of her bedridden husband and her children," he said. Anwar is in Negri Sembilan for the Madani Government Leadership Ukhuwah Programme in conjunction with the retreat for administration members and Members of Parliament. Health outreach or ‘gay party'? Kelantan urges facts before judgement

Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohamed Fadzli Hassan ( pic ) said in a statement that all parties must remain open-minded, and everyone must be afforded the right to justice with wisdom and fairness. Advertisement 'To resolve this matter, the Kelantan state government calls for a thorough and comprehensive investigation to ensure that no party becomes a victim of misunderstanding, slander, or public judgement before the truth is fully established. 'If investigations confirm that the police's actions were justified and based on facts, stern measures should be taken against those involved,' he said in a statement here. 'Conversely, if the NGOs' and individuals' claims are proven true, corrective steps must be taken. The principle of justice must prevail,' he added. However, he insisted that anyone planning potentially controversial events to seek proper approval from authorities. He added that if participants were from outside Kelantan, this should be clarified to protect locals from undue blame. 'Transparency is essential to prevent baseless assumptions and unwarranted judgement within society,' he said. Fadzli's remark came as some locals blamed the media and the police for casting Kelantan in a bad light by falsely claiming that a 'gay sex party' had taken place in the state. On Friday, the MAC confirmed that it conducted a night outreach session here on June 17 under the Differentiated HIV Services for Key Populations model. MAC said the session was in collaboration with Kota Jembal Health Clinic and part of a strategic approach introduced by the Health Ministry. It said the session was held from 8pm to 2am and had reached over 70 high-risk individuals, with services scheduled outside office hours to improve accessibility. This comes as a coalition of civil society groups had also urged Kelantan police to revise their statement on a June 2025 raid of an alleged 'gay sex party' here, which they clarified was in fact a health outreach event. Sabahans urged to back local governance
