Talented class of 2027 wide receiver recruit Gavin Honore is one of the top playmakers in his recruiting cycle. Honore plays high school football for Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California. Mater Dei is a national powerhouse and is where Georgia Bulldogs running back Nate Frazier played his high school football.
Honore is ranked as a three-star recruit. The rising junior is the No. 421 recruit in the nation and the No. 52 prospect in California, per 247Sports. Honore is the No. 54 wide receiver in the nation. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound receiver also runs track and has excellent speed.
The Mater Dei star is projected to commit to Georgia. Coach Kirby Smart and Georgia don't have a commitment in the class of 2027 yet, so it would be nice for the Bulldogs to land a foundational piece in the 2027 cycle.
The elite receiver was recently named as the MVP of a National Preps Showcase. Georgia offered Honore on April 1. Honore's recruitment has picked up recently and he's received recent scholarship offers from Texas, Texas Tech and Louisville.

AFC South team expected to sign RB Nick Chubb
Former Georgia Bulldogs running back Nick Chubb is close to finding a new home. He is expected to sign with the Houston Texans on a one-year deal, according to Ian Rapoport. His physical is still pending. Chubb was a five-star running back when he was recruited by the Georgia Bulldogs in 2014. He would go on to have one of the most legendary careers by a Georgia running back ever. Through four seasons, he ranked second among all running backs in yards (4,769) and touchdowns (44) in school history. Chubb's injury concerns popped up in 2015, when he tore his PCL, MCL, and LCL against Tennessee. Despite the injury, the Cleveland Browns selected him 37th overall in the 2018 draft. Early on, Chubb looked like he could be one of the greatest running backs of all time. In his first five seasons, he totaled 6,341 yards and 48 touchdowns on just 1,210 attempts. He had more yards than Pro Football Hall of Famers Tony Dorsett, Edgerrin James, Jerome Bettis, and Thurman Thomas did through their first five seasons. Unfortunately, injuries caught up with him again. He suffered a torn MCL in 2023 vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football. That took him out for the rest of the 2023 season and six games of the 2024 season. Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle When he came back, he wasn't the quite same running back, but he still showed flashes of his immense talent in a two-touchdown game against the Steelers on Thursday Night Football in Week 12. Unfortunately, against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 14, he suffered a broken foot. With his contract expiring in 2024, Cleveland did not re-sign him. Chubb now is expected to join a crowded backfield with solid veteran Joe Mixon, youngster Dameon Pierce, and fourth-round pick Woody Marks.

Georgia WR announces NFL retirement to pursue new career
Georgia WR announces NFL retirement to pursue new career Former Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Chris Conley has chosen to hang up the cleats. The 10-year NFL veteran is retiring to pursue a career in filmography, he posted on his Instagram. Conley started by saying, "When I was a kid I wrote down a set of goals. On that list was 'Play 10 years in the NFL.' Now that this goal has been accomplished, it's time to set sights on something new." He will be attending film school at his alma mater Georgia. Conley was a four-star wide receiver coming out of high school when Georgia recruited him in 2011. Conley played four seasons at Georgia, becoming on of Aaron Murray's most dependable targets. Through 49 games at UGA, he racked up 1,938 yards and 20 touchdowns. He was a part of the Bulldogs' 2012 SEC championship, but unfortunately, he's infamous for catching the pass on Georgia's final play five yards away from the end zone. The Bulldogs lost to Alabama 32-28. At the NFL combine, he put on a show, running a 4.35 and vertical jumping 45 inches. In the 2015 NFL draft, The Kansas City Chiefs selected him in the third round. In the NFL, Conley had stops with the Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans, and San Francisco 49ers. Through 10 years, he had 2,998 yards and 15 touchdowns on 226 receptions. With San Francisco, he played in Super Bowl 58, although he wasn't able to win it against Kansas City, but he made some outstanding plays on special teams. "The past 10 years have been a dream," Conley wrote. "Getting the opportunity to play in the league was an honor and whether it was catching touchdowns or blocking for them, I truly gave it my all."
