'An Evening of Radiohead' is an absolute must-see for any fan
So when I discovered there was a tribute show being held at Manchester Cathedral on my 30th birthday, I just knew I couldn't miss out on the opportunity.
Hosted by Let Me In, the incredible performance took place during the event provider's UK Cathedral and Minster tour following a sold-out run in 2024.

And the setting couldn't have been dreamier – Manchester Cathedral providing a stunning backdrop for the journey through Radiohead's 30-year catalogue.
The show brought together a full live band complete with vocalists and the nationally renowned Mike Nowland String Quartet.
The night was a spectacular celebration of Radiohead's incredible work, spanning hits and lesser-known gems from albums like OK Computer, In Rainbows and The Bends.
And though I initially had doubts over seeing a cover band, I must say I was absolutely blown away by the event. Having been desperate to see Radiohead live since the age of 15, it genuinely felt as close as I could possibly get to the real deal.
Every song was delivered with such passion, showcasing the band's ability to navigate melancholic rock anthems to more experimental pieces - capturing Thom Yorke's distinctive voice with impressive accuracy.
Under the direction of Christopher Buckle, the band – featuring talented local musicians like Alfie Woods, Bruce Higgs, Daniel Anketell, Josh Semans, Lydia Karaviotis and musical director Ewan Steady – created a powerful and emotional performance.
But it was the addition of the exceptional string quartet – Mike Nowland, Mathias Svensson, Caroline Boddimead and Hannah Paterson – that brought a truly magical depth to the event.
If you're a huge Radiohead fan like me, An Evening of Radiohead really is a must-see. The night was a perfect mix of nostalgia and fresh interpretations of the band's music and a truly unforgettable experience in a breathtaking venue.

Recorded between the year of its release and the end of the In Rainbows tours in 2009, the 12-track album is newly mixed and mastered by Ben Baptie and Matt Colton, respectively. In a statement explaining how the record came about, Yorke said, 'In the process of thinking how to build arrangements for the Shakespeare Hamlet/Hail to the Thief theatre production I asked to hear some archive live recordings of the songs. I was shocked by the kind of energy behind the way we played and it really helped me find a way forward. For us, back in the day, the finishing of this record was particularly messy and fraught, we were very proud of it but there was a taste left in our mouths, it was a dark time in so many ways. Anyway we decided to get these live recordings mixed (it would have been insane to keep them for ourselves) by Ben Baptie, who did an amazing job. It has all been a very cathartic process, we very much hope you enjoy them.' Though foundational for many fans, Hail to the Thief occupies a curious place in Radiohead lore, which generally holds that it is too long. Five years after its release, Thom Yorke posted a revised tracklist on Radiohead's website omitting four songs—'A Punchup at a Wedding,' 'We Suck Young Blood,' 'I Will' and 'Backdrifts'—and Nigel Godrich later said its lack of editing, while charming, made it 'probably [his] least favourite of all the albums.' (All of them?!) In 2008, the band modestly reframed a handful of Hail to the Thief tracks on the live studio recording In Rainbows From the Basement. Before that, a searing live version of '2+2=5,' recorded at Earl's Court, appeared on the 2004 EP Com Lag. As noted in his statement, Yorke recently adapted Hail to the Thief for a spin on Hamlet that opened in Manchester, England, in May. The new live album marks Radiohead's first activity since forming a new business entity—a limited liability partnership (LLP)—this March, etching a faint question mark beside their dormant status. Today's release does not necessarily answer the question that business entity raised: Radiohead typically form LLP entities for tours, not reissues, and, historically, the band has not toured without a new album to fine-tune or promote. Radiohead are revisiting one of their most beloved albums, 2003's electro-rock classic Hail to the Thief with a new live collection chronicling six years of performances of tracks from the Nigel Godrich-produced LP. In an announcement on Wednesday (Aug. 13), the Thom Yorke-led group heralded the digital release of Hail to the Thief Live Recordings 2003-2009, a 12-track compilation that helped the band 're-evaluate their relationship with their 6th studio album.' Radiohead Returns With Two Viral Favorites
Radiohead's performance on charts all around the world throughout 2025 illustrates the power of virality in today's music industry. One track taking the internet by storm can not only give a musical act a new smash, but also help bring older titles to new heights and move millions of units. Recently, Radiohead's "Let Down," an album cut from decades ago, began picking up steam on TikTok, and it became a sudden and unexpected hit. The success of that one track ensures that many of the alternative group's tunes and albums perform well yet again, especially in the U.K., where the rockers remain among the most respected of all time. Radiohead Sends Two Hits to the Same Chart Radiohead fills two spaces on the Official Singles chart, the 100-position ranking that blends sales and streaming activity to show what the British public is consuming. "Let Down" reenters the tally at No. 88 in its fifth frame on the competitive roster, almost returning to its No. 85 high point. 'Creep' Joins 'Let Down' At the same time that "Let Down" returns, "Creep," one of Radiohead's most familiar compositions, also finds its way back. That track, which peaked at No. 7 and has now spent 35 frames somewhere on the roster throughout the years, narrowly finds space on the tally as it comes in at No. 95. Streaming Success for Radiohead Success on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music seems to be largely aiding both "Let Down" and "Creep" in their return to the Official Singles chart. Both popular cuts rise on the Official Streaming ranking, with "Let Down" surging six spaces to No. 62, while "Creep" comes in at No. 68. OK Computer, The Bends, and In Rainbows Three Radiohead albums appear on multiple charts in the country as well. "Let Down" is responsible for the ascension of OK Computer, the album on which it's featured. At the moment, the project climbs on four tallies. Both The Bends and In Rainbows soar on three lists at the same time.
