Eight athletes selected for Asian Bodybuilding Championship in Thailand
The selection was made at the conclusion of the first National PSB Bodybuilding and Physique Championship 2025, held at the Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad, the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) said in a statement l.
The event, organized by the Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation (PBF), saw participation from 122 athletes competing across 23 categories, including Senior, Junior, Masters, Athletic Physique, and Sports Physique divisions.

Those selected for the continental championship include Ejaz Ahmed, Firasat Ali, Mohsin Iqbal, Muhammad Shakeel, Bilal Ahmed, Usama Saeed, Haroon Rasheed, and Faizan Gul.
A panel of judges from the World Bodybuilding Federation, Asian Bodybuilding Federation, and provincial associations oversaw the competition.
PBF Secretary General Sohail Anwar, who was the chief guest at the event, thanked the Pakistan Sports Board for supporting both the championship and an accompanying Anti-Doping Awareness Seminar.

He reiterated the federation's focus on practical steps to promote bodybuilding nationwide, saying, 'Our performance will speak for itself.'
Other officials present included PSB Organizing Committee Chairman Saeed Akhtar, members Nasrullah Rana, Farman Khan, Sohail Gil, and sports nutritionist Dr Nabeel.

The result forced Iran, who had entered the final as defending champions, to settle for the silver medal. With this win, Pakistan completed the championship undefeated — a campaign that included a commanding 3-0 semi-final victory over arch-rivals India. Iran had beaten Japan 3-0 in the other semi-final. Pakistan's path to the title was marked by consistent excellence. In the group stage, they overcame strong opponents including South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Chinese Taipei to top Group D. They then defeated Indonesia in the quarter-finals, followed by back-to-back victories over Iran and India in the knockout rounds. By securing the Asian title, Pakistan also booked their place in the FIVB U-17 World Championship 2026, further underlining their meteoric rise at the junior level.

Pakistan's Mohammad Asif wins World Masters snooker championship
Pakistan has won two snooker titles in a day — World Masters and Under-17 IBSF World Snooker Championship 2025 — in Bahrain. In the World Masters final, snooker player Mohammad Asif defeated India's Brijesh Damani by 4-3, Radio Pakistan reported. In the final of U-17 World Snooker Championship, cueist Muhammad Hasnain defeated Riley Powell of Wales by 4-0. President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated Asif on winning the world snooker championship and defeating Indian player Damani in the final to win the title. 'Muhammad Asif made the nation proud with his outstanding performance,' said the president. President Zardari said the success in the world competition is a testament to the ability, determination and hard work of Pakistani players. Arshad Nadeem says land promises after Olympic gold were ‘fake'
Pakistan's Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem has said that promises of land made to him following his historic victory at the Paris Olympics were never honoured. Speaking to the media in London, the javelin thrower revealed that while he did receive most of the cash rewards and other gifts pledged by government officials and private sponsors, the promised plots of land were 'fake.' 'They made many announcements, especially about plots of land. But if you look at the reality, none of those materialised. Alhamdulillah, I have received all the other rewards,' he told reporters.
