Who was Robert Maxwell? Ghislaine Maxwell's father, who had alleged ties with KGB and Mossad

Ghislaine Maxwell, the notorious associate of Jeffrey Epstein, father, Robert Maxwell, influenced her world even though he had relationships with MI6, KGB, and Mossad. Who is Robert Maxwell?
Maxwell was born into a poor Jewish family in Czechoslovakia and was lucky to avoid the horror of the Holocaust and later make it to Britain. He made an impressive niche in his writings and media world, and secondly in politics.
His academic publishing house, Pergamon Press, became a staple in American schools, though critics noted its textbooks had a clear pro-Israel tilt. Reflection of Maxwell's Zionist beliefs?
In 1984, he bought the Daily Mirror and turned it into one of Britain's leading tabloids.

Maxwell controlled an empire that included Maxwell Communication Corporation, Macmillan, Pergamon, and numerous other publishing interests.
Interestingly, he was photographed alongside Queen Elizabeth, Princess Diana, Margaret Thatcher, and US Presidents George H. W. Bush and Donald Trump.
However, British officials reportedly suspected him of being more than just a powerful media baron. Whispers within the UK Foreign Office linked Maxwell to MI6, the Soviet KGB, and Israel's Mossad, working as a triple agent. He was said to have moved seamlessly between Washington, Moscow, and Jerusalem, trading information and influence.
Robert Maxwell linked to PROMIS spyware scandal
The worst claims involve him in the PROMIS software scandal. Promis is originally a US Department of Justice tool that was reportedly backdoor implanted by Israeli intelligence and sold to the rest of the world so that foreign intelligence could monitor it on a large scale.
Former Israeli spy Ari Ben-Menashe claimed that 'Robert Maxwell' was the one who helped sell the doctored version of PROMIS to unsuspecting governments and corporations.
Maxwell's power began to unravel in the early 1990s. It was discovered that he had raided £460 million from the Mirror Group's pension fund, money meant for his employees, to keep his collapsing empire afloat. The British public branded him 'Robber Bob.' His sons Ian and Kevin were later charged with fraud but were acquitted.

On 5 November 1991, Maxwell vanished from his luxury yacht, the Lady Ghislaine, off the Canary Islands. Hours later, his body was found floating in the Atlantic Ocean. Authorities ruled it a heart attack and accidental drowning. Ghislaine has maintained her belief that her father was murdered.

Trump Vs Netanyahu Fight; U.S. President Shames Israel On Gaza Starvation, Busts Bibi's Lie

/ Jul 29, 2025, 02:49AM IST U.S. President Donald Trump acknowledged what Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been refusing to acknowledge: the people including children of Gaza are being starved amid ongoing Israeli war against Palestinians in the besieged enclave. Trump said there is real starvation in Gaza and that the people there need unhindered aid access. He went on to accuse Hamas of stealing the aid, and toughening its position on hostages, but added that feeding starving Palestinians is the first priority at the moment. Watch.

Ghislaine Maxwell asks Supreme Court to overturn conviction, citing Epstein deal with federal authorities

Ghislaine Maxwell has petitioned the US Supreme Court to overturn her 2021 sex trafficking conviction, arguing that a non-prosecution agreement Jeffrey Epstein struck with federal authorities should have protected her from criminal charges. 'This case is about what the government promised, not what Epstein did,' her attorneys wrote in a newly filed brief, as reported by Axios. Maxwell, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for grooming and abusing underage girls alongside Epstein, contends that the plea agreement reached between Epstein and the government in 2008 extended immunity to his alleged co-conspirators. Maxwell's lawyer, David Oscar Markus, appealed not just to the court but directly to President Donald Trump, invoking his well-known emphasis on 'deals.' 'President Trump built his legacy in part on the power of a deal—and surely he would agree that when the United States gives its word, it must stand by it,' Markus said. 'We are appealing not only to the Supreme Court but to the President himself to recognize how profoundly unjust it is to scapegoat Ghislaine Maxwell for Epstein's crimes, especially when the government promised she would not be prosecuted.' When asked by reporters if he would consider issuing a pardon for Maxwell, Trump replied: 'Nobody's approached me with it. Nobody's asked me about it. It's in the news about that aspect of it, but right now, it would be inappropriate to talk about it.' Trump has previously said he has the authority to issue such a pardon, without committing either way. Maxwell recently held closed-door meetings with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche on July 24 and 25. The nature of those discussions has not been disclosed in the Supreme Court filing, but the meetings have triggered sharp criticism from Democrats. Senators Dick Durbin and Sheldon Whitehouse have demanded the Department of Justice release transcripts and recordings of the meetings, warning that Maxwell might manipulate the situation in exchange for leniency. In a letter to Blanche, the senators said: 'Given her documented record of lying and her desire to secure early release, there are serious concerns that Ms. Maxwell may provide false information or selectively withhold information, in return for a pardon or sentence commutation.' They also criticised the DOJ for not fulfilling former Attorney General Pam Bondi's promise to make the 'full Epstein files' public.

NSCN faction says Assam eviction drive planned to grab Naga ancestral lands

The Niki Sumi faction of the extremist National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) said the Assam government's proposed eviction drive in Golaghat district's Uriamghat was designed to grab the ancestral lands of the Nagas. Uriamghat is close to Assam's border with Nagaland. The faction said the areas targeted were 'fictitiously' marked 'disturbed area belt' (DAB), citing pre-1947 demarcations by the British, who had transferred these areas for administrative convenience without consulting the Nagas. The faction said successive Assam governments made 'illegal Bangladeshi immigrants' settle down in the DAB with the alleged long-term plan to evict them and grab the lands of the Nagas. 'In the name of evicting the encroachers, the Assam government has double-crossed the Nagaland government by violating the terms and is occupying Naga ancestral areas by permanently stationing Assam police in the DAB,' it said in a statement. Assam and Nagaland have been locked in a bitter border dispute since the latter was carved out of the former in 1963, claiming more than 150 lives over the decades. Several rounds of talks have not helped resolve the dispute, but the two governments agreed to maintain the status quo more than a decade ago. The NSCN faction accused the Assam government of violating the status quo. It also underlined Assam's boundary disputes with other northeastern States. Assam has partially resolved its dispute with Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya. The faction appealed to the Naga people to pressure the Nagaland government into boosting security along the borders of their ancestral lands. It said more police personnel, home guards, and village guards should be recruited and deployed along the border with Assam. The Assam government has engaged a large number of police personnel and bulldozers to clear 11,000 bighas of land at Uriamghat. However, the eviction drive is unlikely to take place on Tuesday, as initially planned. 'The eviction drive has not been finalised yet. Land survey operations are underway,' Gunadeep Das, Golaghat's Divisional Forest Officer, said. He said about 60% of some 15,000 settlers, mostly Muslims, have already left Uriamghat after having been served notices. The Assam government has been carrying out a series of eviction drives across the State since June. At least 55,000 people, mostly Muslims with roots in present-day Bangladesh, have been evicted from forest land, grazing land, and government revenue land.
