Wednesday, June 11 forecast: Summer sneakpeek fades away
Many people are rejoicing in the sunny and warm weather we've experienced recently. Today will be sunny and warm again, but rain will return for some by Thursday. Download our KOLR 10 weather app Expect another day in the mid to upper 80s this afternoon. It will be steamier today than yesterday and a few clouds will stream in from the southwest this afternoon, but skies will be mostly sunny. Winds will be light out of the south, around 5 MPH. Enjoy! A stray shower is possible west of Highway 65 this afternoon, thanks to the added humidity and heat, but many will stay dry until Thursday. Rain chances and cloud cover will creep back in from the southwest as a strung-out storm slowly makes its way out of Texas and through the region through the remainder of the week. The outer edge of the storm will likely lead to scattered afternoon storms on Thursday. Rain is more likely on Friday with pockets of showers and isolated thunderstorms expected throughout the day, but more likely during the afternoon and evening. No severe weather is expected, but lightning is possible along with locally heavy rainfall. This appears to be a setup that may favor slow-moving areas of heavier rainfall. Flooding at a localized level may occur. The slow-moving storm will exit to the east over the weekend, but daily chances for widely scattered showers and thunderstorms will remain. Outside of the rain chances, the weather looks perfect for some boating and floating, with temperatures and humidity levels having an early summer feel. A more summer-like look to the pattern will be taking hold as we move into the following week. Humidity levels will remain high with temperatures getting closer to the 90° mark. Typical summer pattern continues – morning fog, humid, and pop-up afternoon storms
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Good Wednesday morning! Cloudy and humid to start the day with some areas of fog developing behind some overnight showers and storms. Throughout the morning expect mostly cloudy skies to persist with the sunshine popping out later this afternoon and evening. Highs climb into the upper 80s today while staying very humid. More of the same ole heading into the overnight, with mostly cloudy skies, seasonal readings, and possibly some areas of fog developing by daybreak. Remainder of the week will see readings nose closer to the low 90s as rainfall chances remain limited in the afternoon and evening with afternoon pop-up showers and storms. For Father's Day Weekend, we are tracking a better chance of shower and storm coverage in the afternoon as we tap gulf moisture. Temperatures remain seasonal with temperatures near 90. Warm with evening storms
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Skies will see more clear pockets this morning compared to yesterday. Morning temperatures will be in the low-70s inland and mid-70s at the coast. The first part of the day is trending dry—a few nice hours at the beach or pool. Highs will be near normal in the mid-80s at the coast and near 90 inland. Humidity remains noticeable today and through the rest of the work week. The sea breeze front will push inland throughout the mid-afternoon, and we will watch for some storms to fire up in response. Storms will be around in general across the Pee Dee as well during the evening commute. Nothing severe is expected for today. Tonight, partly cloudy with temperatures in the low and mid-70s. The trend of normal temperatures and scattered afternoon and evening storms will continue for the rest of the week. Out in the Atlantic, no tropical activity for the next 2 days. Out in the East Pacific, Barbara has weakened to a remnant low-pressure area. Cosme is still a tropical storm with winds of 45 mph, and a new area of interest has a 90% chance of developing into a likely Tropical Storm Dalila by the end of the weekend.
