THIS is the moment Britain's 'dopiest burglar' was caught red-handed after staring straight into a Ring doorbell camera of a home he ransacked.
Ashley Whitehouse, 42, was snapped peering through the lens outside the gaff in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, on March 23 this year.

CCTV footage also captured Whitehouse hurling rocks at the homeowner as he fled the scene of the botched break-in on Wingfield Avenue.
The thug was then chased down the street by the couple who were awoken by the intruder at around 8am.
He had walked into their bedroom but fled the address following an "altercation", Nottinghamshire Police said.
A court heard Whitehouse continued to threaten the victims and threw a paving slab through their car window.
He also lobbed stones and bricks from a nearby garden at the man before hitting him in the stomach with a large stick.
The victims later discovered their kitchen had been ransacked and a purse containing a bank card had been stolen.
A mobile phone was also recovered from a plant pot by the front door and officers were able to identify it as Whitehouse's device.
He was arrested at his home just two hours later and while being detained headbutted an officer who was left with an injury to her ear.
Whitehouse, of Worksop, pleaded guilty to burglary, criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was jailed for two years and 11 months at Nottingham Crown Court earlier today.

Detective Constable Amy McMillan, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "It will have been a frightening experience for the victims to be awoken by an intruder and then come face to face with a masked man inside their home.
"Burglary is an offence which can have a deep and lasting impact on those affected.
"This is why preventing break-ins and bringing burglars to justice is a priority for the force.
"Whitehouse reacted violently to being disturbed and continued his aggressive behaviour by hurling bricks at the victim as he fled and assaulting him.
"When officers tracked him down a short time later he responded by headbutting an officer who was simply doing her job.
"As a force we will not tolerate attacks on officers.
"Being assaulted and injured while on duty is not part of the job description and never will be."

The engineering technician has been caged for 34 weeks SAILOR'S SHAME Faslane Navy base pervert who groped female colleague at bar locked up Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A FASLANE-based Royal Navy sailor has been jailed after he groped a female colleague at a bar in Iceland. Able Seaman Craig Kennedy, 25, was caught red-handed sexually assaulting the woman but still refused to accept it even though there was 'overwhelming' CCTV evidence. The footage also showed AB Kennedy, an engineer in the Navy, staggering around in a 'state of extreme intoxication'. A court martial heard his victim had to be prescribed anti-depressants, struggles to be around men and has applied to leave the Navy. AB Kennedy, stationed at HM Naval Base Clyde - the nuclear submarine base known as Faslane - insisted she made the story up. Now, the engineering technician has been locked up for 34 weeks at a military detention centre. AB Kennedy, who was in the Navy for almost five years, was also dismissed from the service and put on the Sex Offenders Register for five years. Catterick Military Court, North Yorks, was told AB Kennedy groped the sailor while they were working together in Iceland. He groped her under her skirt, it was heard. Sentencing him, Assistant Judge Advocate General Edward Legard said: 'At that time, both yourself and [the victim] were deployed to Iceland. 'You were previously not well known to one another but during the course of an evening, you struck up a conversation, which began as a light-hearted one. Sailor investigated over 'stealing secrets' from nuclear submarine at Scots base 'That continued for some time whilst you were in the company of others in the American Bar in Reykjavík. 'However, as [the victim] was looking in a different direction to you, whilst in a state of extreme intoxication, you grabbed her first on her bottom and then subsequently touched her on her vaginal area. 'Those assaults were both caught on CCTV. 'You can be seen on CCTV staggering around with little, if any, control of your physical movements. 2 A Faslane Navy base pervert has been locked up for groping a female colleague Credit: John Kirkby 'You refused to accept any responsibility for your actions that night and you continue to do so. 'You maintained your denials in the face of overwhelming CCTV evidence, and you continue to do so.' AB Kennedy denied two counts of sexual assault but was convicted at court martial. The court was told that his attack caused a 'profound and lasting impact' on his victim. In sending AB Kennedy to military detention, Judge Legard told him: 'This type of behaviour is unacceptable today. 'It goes without saying that anyone in the civilian world, convicted of such an offence, would inevitably be dismissed for gross misconduct. 'That is no different here, where the services, of course, demand higher standards of behaviour.'

Diddy asks Trump for a pardon

Sean 'Diddy' Combs's legal team has contacted the Trump administration to seek a pardon for his two prostitution-related convictions. Nicole Westmoreland, one of the lawyers who represented the music mogul during his criminal trial, said her team had held discussions with the White House about a potential pardon. 'It's my understanding that we've reached out and had conversations in reference to a pardon,' Ms Westmoreland told CNN. Combs is currently in federal prison awaiting sentencing after he was convicted for two charges of transportation to engage in prostitution last month. Each charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. He was acquitted on the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. On Monday, a federal judge denied the 55-year-old's request to be released on bail pending his October sentencing hearing. Last week Mr Trump suggested he was unlikely to pardon Combs because he had not been supportive during his presidential campaign. The US president said 'they have talked to me about Sean', adding: 'I was very friendly with him, I got along with him great and he seemed like a nice guy'. But, Mr Trump told NewsMax: 'I didn't know him well. But when I ran for office, he was very hostile.' Mr Trump said: 'It's hard, you know, like, we're human beings, and we don't like to have things cloud our judgment, right? 'But when you knew someone and you were fine, and then you run for office, and he made some terrible statements – so, I don't know, it's more difficult.' Asked if it was more likely Combs's request would be denied, Mr Trump said: 'I would say so.' Ms Westmoreland said that despite Mr Trump's comments, Combs 'is a very hopeful person, and I believe that he remains hopeful'. Prosecutors have not formally said what sentence they plan to pursue for Combs's convictions, but previously suggested they could seek a four or five-year jail sentence, although in a filing last week they suggested the range could be 'substantially higher'. 'Any decision on pardons or commutations will come directly from the president, and the White House will not comment on any speculation regarding such actions,' a senior White House official told The Telegraph in a statement.
