has confirmed her separation from her husband and fellow shuttler Parupalli Kashyap after their seven-year-long marriage.
The news first surfaced on Saina's official Instagram account when she posted a short but emotional message confirming the end of her marital journey.
Saina's
"Life takes us in different directions sometimes; we are choosing peace, growth, and healing for ourselves and each other. Thank you for understanding and respecting our privacy
," she posted.
Her heartfelt post recognized her journey with her husband and looked back at the time together, suggesting that even if you go your separate ways, it should be respectfully done.
The two got married back in 2018 with pomp and show and were a celebrated power couple of India. Their rollercoaster journey began ages ago in the courts of Pullela Gopichand Academy in Hyderabad, where they practiced together. Saina became world no. 1 and secured a bronze at the 2012 London Olympics; Parupalli came into the limelight by securing gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and breaking into the top 10 of the BWF world rankings.

With time, the two friends' relationship transcended the game since their fans began to admire their friendship, discipline, and love for this game.
Speculations of strain in their marriage had also arisen previously, but Parupalli and Saina hadn't discussed their relationship in that way. This news, however, confirms something that was once speculated. Now they have separated amicably and with respect. Saina, now 35 years old, had also been dealing with some ailments, like arthritis, and had signalled that she could retire prematurely.
A new start
Though this is their path and their marriage is over, both Saina and Parupalli remain honored names on the Indian sporting map. Now, as they move forward, both will have their fans continue celebrating their glorious past and wishing them both well for the remainder of their lives.

"Anshul has left for Manchester and will join the squad for the remaining two Test matches as a cover," a BCCI source told The incident occurred when Arshdeep attempted to stop a shot from Sai Sudharsan during his follow-through in India's practice session on Thursday. Although Arshdeep is yet to make his Test debut, he was being considered as a potential replacement if the team opted to rest a frontline pacer for the fourth Test in Manchester. Why Team India came to Manchester from London via train and walked in rain India's assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate had also hinted that the team combination for the Old Trafford Test now hinges on the severity of Arshdeep's injury. 'We'll take a call on the combination we play,' he said. 'Particularly given the Arshdeep situation as well, we'll make that call closer to Manchester,' he added. Anshul was also part of the India A setup which played two three-day games last month. He took five wickets in the two games. Last season, the Karnal-born pacer created history after he became only the third cricketer after Bengal's Premangsu Chatterjee (1956–57) and Rajasthan's Pradeep Sundaram (1985–86) to take all ten wickets in an innings in the Ranji Trophy. Kamboj burst onto the scene when he took 17 wickets in ten games and helped Haryana lift the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2023. On the back of that performance, he bagged an IPL contract with Mumbai Indians and played three games. In IPL 2025, the Haryana seamer was part of the Chennai Super Kings outfit. After warming the bench in the early part of the season, he picked up eight wickets in as many games with an impressive economy rate of 8.00.
