4 Ways The Predator Helios Neo 16 AI Levels Up The Laptop Gaming Experience
When it comes to intensive bouts of gaming or competitive battles in esports tournaments, having a powerful rig outfitted with the latest hardware is crucial for running today's increasingly demanding AAA titles smoothly, ensuring the highest levels of immersion but also maintaining the competitive edge against other players. To provide an uncompromised enthusiast gaming experience in a compact but powerful package, Predator's latest portable gaming beast, the Predator Helios Neo 16 AI, packs in everything an aspiring gamer needs as an effective desktop substitute. Here are four ways the Predator Helios Neo 16 AI serves as a game-changer for heavyweight gaming on the go. It all begins under the hood with powerful GPU and CPU options – the backbone of any gaming experience. As a portable device, a gaming laptop needs a beefy GPU to handle all the latest graphically intensive titles, and the Predator Helios Neo 16 AI packs it all in. Equipped with NVIDIA's latest GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPU powered by the newest Blackwell architecture for advanced generative AI and accelerated computing, the laptop provides an elevated AI-powered gaming experience with 992 AI TOPS (Trillions of Operations Per Second). Harnessing the power of its NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series GPU, gamers can also enjoy a suite of advanced NVIDIA features, including: DLSS 4 : A super sampling technology that constructs high-quality images from a lower-resolution base for a boost in both performance and visual quality, and with its new transformer-based AI model, significantly improves image quality over DLSS 3, especially in motion, with better stability and detail retention. : A super sampling technology that constructs high-quality images from a lower-resolution base for a boost in both performance and visual quality, and with its new transformer-based AI model, significantly improves image quality over DLSS 3, especially in motion, with better stability and detail retention. Reflex 2: Optimises game rendering across the GPU and CPU to reduce PC latency and improve responsiveness. To complement its potent GPU, the Predator Helios Neo 16 AI is outfitted with an equally powerful Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 275HX, featuring impressive mobile performance with up to 24 cores (8 P-cores and 16 E-cores), 24 threads and a max clock speed of 5.4 GHz. As a PC offering artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities through a neural processing unit (NPU), the CPU takes advantage of its performance hybrid architecture to combine its P-cores and E-cores, further enhancing multitasking capabilities. When gaming, and especially for more graphically intense titles, a system can run hot, which is why the laptop is equipped with advanced cooling technologies, led by a 5th Gen AeroBlade 3D fan setup, consisting of 89 ultra-thin 0.08mm blades and a wind guiding structure for increased airflow performance, effectively redirecting air to cool down crucial components when under intense usage scenarios. This, combined with other thermal solutions like advanced liquid metal thermal grease on the CPU, which provides higher thermal conductivity than the market competition, vector heat pipes and strategically placed intake and exhaust ports, ensures that the system stays cool under pressure, improving both performance and longevity while maintaining user comfort. A gaming device needs more than impressive hardware to stand out from the crowd, and the Predator Helios Neo 16 AI also comes with innovative software to complement its graphical prowess. For streamers, esports pros or those who simply want the best out of their multiplayer gaming sessions, the laptop is outfitted with the Acer Purified Voice 2.0, which harnesses the power of AI and a three-microphone setup to identify and eliminate unwanted background noise for both speakers and listeners, providing crystal-clear voice quality even during the most chaotic bouts of multiplayer gaming. Acer's innovations don't just end at improving performance, but extend to utility too, with the PredatorSense 5.0 app allowing users to monitor and personalise their laptop experience, managing RGB lighting, fan speeds and more in a single convenient location, enabling them to swap system presets on the fly to suit any usage scenario for maximum flexibility. With its portable size measuring 356.78 x 275.5 x 26.75 mm, the Predator Helios Neo 16 AI doesn't skimp on its hardware features, boasting a 16-inch WQXGA resolution (2560 x 1600) IPS display with a smooth 240Hz refresh rate, enabling the lightning-fast response times lauded by esports enthusiasts and giving players an edge over the competition. For the extra leg up in multiplayer competitive gaming, the laptop also comes equipped with Killer Wi-Fi 6 1675i and Killer Ethernet E2600, making use of the Intel Killer DoubleShot Pro software to automatically switch high-priority traffic to the fastest connection type while leaving standard traffic for the slow connection, ensuring the most reliable link in latency-sensitive situations like online gaming matches. As the final cherry on top, gaming enthusiasts can get right into the game without breaking the bank. The Predator Helios Neo 16 AI is available now from S$2,699 (with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060). It is available at Best Denki, Challenger, CH2, Courts, Gain City, Harvey Norman, Amazon, Lazada, Shopee and the Acer e-store. Power Up Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy Deals At Local Retailer Hideout's Play Event
As the worlds of Magic: The Gathering and Final Fantasy collide, the response could not have been more assuring for both Wizards of the Coast and Square Enix. With booster boxes of the latest Magic: The Gathering expansion flying off the shelves at lightning speed, fans and new entrants to the trading card game will find it hard to get hold of their desired product. However, pockets of supply do exist in the market. As we head into the full release of the hotly contested set, Singapore local game store Hideout, is organising an event where you could get your hands on more Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy product. Festivities kick off this weekend (14–15 June 2025) at Suntec City, Singapore. Here are the top picks and deals to check out. We first spotted this bundle back in Singapore Comic Con 2024 where Hideout's booth offered 'fukubukuro' (Japanese-style mystery bags) filled with value. Fast forward to 2025, the upcoming Commander Lucky Bag has everything to kickstart your Magic: The Gathering journey for S$138. Keep in mind that not all the bags will have Final Fantasy product, but it's still a solid deal all around. If you'd prefer a product with more certainty, the following option is a good alternative – The starter kit comes with two cards featuring Cloud and Sephiroth that can only be found within the set, plus you get everything else from deckboxes, sleeves, and two more booster packs for a bundle price of S$60 to protect the collection. One of the best ways to learn Magic: The Gathering is in a low-stakes, level-playing-field event where everyone uses the same pool of cards. In a sealed format, players build a 40-card deck from six booster packs and face off against other players. It's a great way to test your luck and skills on equal footing. Preregistration is needed for this weekend's event, so grab your tickets before they are sold out. Play more events, win more swag! From this weekend onwards at the Play Event, every win and attendance for sealed and draft formats will earn you points to redeem a Chocobo poster and pin. Compared to other sets, Wizards of the Coast is certainly pushing hard to get everyone in stores and laying out swag for the dedicated and skilled. If you're there just for the vibes, keep an eye out for cosplayers, too, as they'll be adding their unique flair to the event. Nintendo Delays Live-Action 'The Legend of Zelda' Movie To May 2027
The kingdom of Hyrule will take a while more to take shape on the silver screen, as Nintendo has postponed the release of its upcoming The Legend of Zelda movie. Initially slated for theatrical debut on 26 March 2027, it's now arriving two months later on 7 May 2027, occupying the date previously held by Avengers: Secret Wars . In a statement by industry veteran Shigeru Miyamoto, the franchise creator shared that 'extra time' is needed to improve the film's quality. 'This is Miyamoto. For production reasons, we are changing the release date of the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda to 7 May 2027,' it reads. 'It will be some weeks later than the release timing we originally announced, and we will take the extra time to make the film as good as it can be. Thank you for your patience.' No further elaboration was given, but the delay puts it out of the way of Sonic the Hedgehog 4 and Godzilla x Kong: Supernova , which are slated for release on 19 and 26 March 2027, respectively. Meanwhile, Avengers: Secret Wars has been pushed back to 17 December in the same year. Image credit: Karwai Tang / Getty Images. The Legend of Zelda live-action adaptation was first announced in November 2023, following the breakout success of the animated Super Mario Bros. Movie . Then, Miyamoto confirmed that it had been in the works 'for many years now', though updates have been sparse since. Wes Ball ( Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes ) is directing the project, with Avi Arad, whose credits include every live-action Spider-Man movie and the Spider-Verse animated features, serving as producer alongside Miyamoto. Other details, including story specifics and casting, are still under lock and key. While Euphoria star Hunter Schafer remains the top fan-cast option for Zelda, there's no official confirmation of her involvement in the pic. Introduced in 1986, the iconic series follows elf-like warrior Link as he fights alongside Zelda, the princess of Hyrule, to protect their land from dark forces led by big bad Ganon. It has 21 entries and a number of spin-offs to date, and is largely considered to be one of the most successful franchises in gaming history. The two most recent mainline titles, Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild are getting enhanced versions on the recently launched Nintendo Switch 2, now available for pre-orders in Singapore at S$719 (check out our handy guide for price comparison across all regions). The upcoming Legend of Zelda movie is set to bow on 7 May 2027. Si Jia is a casual geek at heart – or as casual as someone with Sephiroth's theme on her Spotify playlist can get.
