Hollywood star Michael Madsen's official cause of death confirmed after tragedy
Alcoholism and heart disease are believed to have played a factor in the death of Hollywood actor Michael Madsen.
The Kill Bill star, aged 67, was found unresponsive at his Malibu, California home last week. His manager stated this was a result of a cardiac arrest, reports the Mirror.
His cardiologist has now confirmed his official cause of death to be heart failure and said contributing factors to this include heart disease and alcoholism.
Madsen's lawyer said the actor - best known for his roles in Quenten Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill - was struggling with an alcohol addiction before he died.
No autopsy will be conducted because the cardiologist who was treating Madsen signed the death certificate, it is understood.
The doctor who will remain anonymous, told NBC Los Angeles the updated developments on Wednesday, July 9.
The publication also details poignant tributes for the star, who was in multiple Quentin Tarantino films during his 40-year career.
Madsen's sister Virginia had said last week: "My brother Michael has left the stage. He was thunder and velvet. Mischief wrapped in tenderness. A poet disguised as an outlaw. A father, a son, a brother - etched in contradiction, tempered by love that left its mark.
"We're not mourning a public figure. We're not mourning a myth - but flesh and blood and ferocious heart. Who stormed through life loud, brilliant, and half on fire. Who leaves us echoes - gruff, brilliant, unrepeatable - half legend, half lullaby."
Those closest to Madsen said in addition to his acting roles, the star was preparing to release a new book.

A statement from his representatives issued after the tragedy read: "In the last two years Michael Madsen has been doing some incredible work with independent film including upcoming feature films Resurrection Road, Concessions and Cookbook for Southern Housewives, and was really looking forward to this next chapter in his life.
"Madsen was also preparing to release a new book called Tears For My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems. Michael Madsen was one of Hollywood's most iconic actors, who will be missed by many."
The actor's film career spanned decades, beginning in the early 1980s with minor roles in the likes of WarGames and Racing With the Moon. His biggest early break came in 1992 when, aged 35, he played a central role in Reservoir Dogs. It sparked a long relationship with its director Tarantino, which saw the duo work together with Kill Bill: Volume 2, The Hateful Eight, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood over the years.
But as well as his legacy, tragic Madsen, born in Chicago, Illnois, leaves behind his seven children, wife DeAnna Morgan, his two siblings, and mother.

Anne Hegerty reveals pay details for ITV's The Chase with Mark Labbett
The Chase star Anne Hegerty, also known as The Governess, has opened up about how much the popular chasers are paid and why she doesn't want a new one to join the team. Anne Hegerty has shed light on the payment structure for the Chasers on the hit quiz show, explaining that there's no fixed salary involved and their earnings are not guaranteed. Speaking to the Mirror at the TV Choice Awards last week, Anne, who boasts an estimated net worth of £3.2 million, shared that she and her fellow Chasers aren't too keen on the idea of a new addition to their group in the near future. The reason being that they're paid per episode, which means a new Chaser would mean the existing budget would have to be spread even thinner. The I'm A Celebrity star went into detail: "We are paid per show, so we're not on a salary. It's not as if they're going to up the budget and add a new salary, a new chaser would just mean the same number of shows shared between more people - so less money for everyone. So, hope not!" Despite the risk of decreased income with the arrival of a new Chaser, Anne expressed no ill feelings towards Darragh Ennis, who joined the team in 2020, ten years after Anne first appeared. "You know, Darragh has been a very good new addition, he's very popular, and that's worthwhile," she said. Anne also opened up about her off-screen camaraderie with her fellow quizzing giants. Despite their competitive nature during the show, Anne confirmed that they get along well behind the scenes, reports Bristol Live. She added: "We know each other, and certainly on Beat the Chasers we tend to hang out a lot, because we're all there at the same time," revealing the friendly dynamics among the cast. Despite not earning a regular wage from her appearances on The Chase, the financial triumph of her company, Frosty Knickers Ltd, is evident, with reports in August 2023 revealing a hefty £807,000 sitting in the bank. Yet Anne is not one to frivolously spend her earnings. In a discussion about her expenditure habits last year, she quipped: "I'm half Scottish. We don't spend money and, being a fat person, I can only buy from certain places." She added humorously. "I like my money sitting in my bank and representing a bit of security. I don't see the point in sloshing money around. I'm not frugal, I'd actually say I'm mean." Before finding fame on television, Anne faced challenging times as a journalist, recounting how she was "getting more and more swamped by admin and losing more work". Nevertheless, this thrifty individual does indulge in some luxuries, opting for first class and business flights, and allowing herself the pleasures of 'Club Med' during her travels.

Noel Gallagher says Scotland is a 'third world country' in bitter feud with Lewis Capaldi
Oasis are set to play Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium for three nights next month but Scots fans may not be impressed to hear what Noel has said about Scotland in the past. Oasis are now just three weeks away from playing Edinburgh's Murrayfield stadium with Scottish fans counting down the days until they see the iconic Gallagher brothers reunite on stage in the Capital for the first time in over sixteen years. Liam and Noel will perform three nights at Murrayfield next month on August 8, 9 and 12 to crowds of over 67,000 per night. Despite the excitement building up around their arrival with thousands still hoping to snag a last minute ticket, Scots Oasis fans may not be so thrilled to discover that Noel Gallagher previously brutally bashed Scotland in an interview. Despite his now ex-wife Sara McDonald being from Edinburgh, at the time of the interview, Noel went as far as to brand Scotland as a 'third world country'. What's more, the singer also previously picked a fight with Scotland's beloved music icon, Lewis Capaldi who is considered a national treasure for his down to earth nature, hilarious sense of humour and incredible musical talents. Their dispute first started when Noel said during an interview on Radio X in 2019 that he didn't know who the Scots singer was. At the time, Lewis' debut album, 'Divinely Unexpired to a Hellish Extent' had peaked at number one in the UK and Ireland and became the fastest selling album of the year. The Oasis star said: "Music is f***ing w*** at the moment". He then insulted the Glasgow-born star as he said: "Who's this Capaldi fella? Who the f***'s that idiot?" However, in true Capaldi fashion, the Scots singer left fans rolling about laughing as he took to his Instagram stories to celebrate Noel's comments in a sarcastic manner. While watching the interview, he responded: "F***ing c'mon! F***ing peaked – slagged off by Noel Gallagher! "Number 1 single – who gives a f***? Number 1 album – who gives a f***? Noel Gallagher has just slagged me off. This is dreams coming true." Capaldi didn't stop there as he wished Gallagher a happy Father's Day while he filmed himself enjoying Oasis' 2002 hit 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out'. Noel was fast to hit back with a tweet making fun of Lewis' track, 'Someone You Loved' alongside a clip of his then 11-year-old song pretending to cry at the song. You might wanna try and find some joy in your tunes, you're destroying the 11yr old is in bits." In response, Lewis took to the stage at Glastonbury Festival that same month, wearing a typical Gallagher style parka jacket which he unzipped to reveal a top with the Oasis guitarist's face inside a love heart. He then took things a step further by getting a backstage snap beside Noel's then-estranged brother and former Oasis bandmate, Liam Gallagher. Noel was left furious and referenced Lewis' stunt in an interview with Variety. He then brutally poked fun at the singer's appearance. The High Flying Birds frontman said: "F****** Chewbacca should enjoy his 15 minutes. The greatest day of his life that I slagged him off or called him an idiot. "It's the greatest day of his f****** life so far. He's just thinking 'wow'. "Well, I know you're Scottish and all that but f****** hell. It is like a third world country but for f***'s sake, man, you must have had a better day than this. Surely." Lewis was quick to leave fans in fits of laughter once more as he then changed his Twitter name to "Chewis Capaldi" and made his profile picture an image of his face edited onto the Star Wars character's head. Despite all of that, the pair have now put their feud to bed and have even met a few times since. Noel has since branded Lewis as a "good lad" after all of his previous jibes at him. Noel and Liam have also put their differences beside them and are currently performing around the UK on their Oasis Live 25 tour.

Gregg Wallace 'threw John Torode under bus' at MasterChef as 'relationship broke down'
Despite presenting MasterChef for 20 years together, they were "never friends", it's claimed - after the pair were both sacked from the show Gregg Wallace was feeding information about his MasterChef co-presenter John Torode during an investigation into his own behaviour, it has been claimed. Despite the men fronting the BBC cookery show for 20 years together, the pair were 'never friends', a new report says. Wallace was actually briefing against Torode when the broadcaster and production company were investigating allegations of misconduct against him. It comes after both presenters were axed from the show. Wallace was sacked first, after 45 out of 83 claims against him, including "unwanted physical contact", "being in a state of undress", bullying and inappropriate jokes, were uphold. This week Torode followed him out of the door over an allegation of using "an extremely offensive racist term", which he denies any knowledge of. READ MORE: MasterChef's new hosts 'revealed' after Gregg Wallace and John Torode scandal It has been reported that he used the N-word at a season filming wrap party in 2019 while singing along to Gold Digger by Kanye West. But BBC News say the claim actually relates to the previous year when he allegedly used the same word on set following the end of filming, and it was directed at a member of staff. The Australian star, 59, continues to insist he has 'no recollection' of the "offensive" comment he was accused of making, despite lawyers Lewis Silkin upholding the complaint. He said any racist language is "wholly unacceptable". Nine allegations were made against Torode between 2012 and 2019. Investigators classed two as not substantiated and six as having insufficient evidence. They include other allegations of abusive language towards junior production staff and sexual language BBC News revealed the allegations in November. They claim the MasterChef production team were 'defensive' at the time and 'wanted to ride out the storm', hoping 'the story would go away.' 'There was a view that Wallace's career could be saved, and his worst behaviour was in the past,' writes Noor Nanji. 'Others in the production team were in disbelief.' She says few formal complaints were made through fear of 'repercussions'. Many of the staff on the show were freelance and worried future career opportunities would be hampered if they spoke up. The BBC and Banijay were said to be at odds with each other over the saga, with Banijay not initially planning to sack Torode but the BBC's director general Tim Davie insisting on drawing "a line in the sand" over it. Earlier this week the Mirror reported how Torode was preparing to take legal action against the BBC and Banijay after he was sacked from MasterChef. He said in a statement told how he'd only found out his contract had been terminated after the Beeb and producers Banijay put out the news. Sources close to the star say he's speaking to employment lawyers as he fights to 'clear his name.' Torode himself revealed he was the subject on an allegation, saying: "I do not believe that it happened." Banijay UK said it had discussed the matter with Torode and with the BBC and that they "are agreed that we will not renew his contract on MasterChef". But in a statement released on Tuesday night, Torode said: "Although I haven't heard from anyone at the BBC or Banijay, I am seeing and reading I've been 'sacked' from MasterChef. I repeat that I have no recollection of what I'm accused of. The enquiry could not even state the date or year of when I am meant to have said something wrong." He said Celebrity MasterChef, which he recently filmed with food critic Grace Dent, along with two Christmas specials, would be his last. Speaking to BBC News on Tuesday afternoon, BBC Director General Davie described the allegation against Torode as "a serious racist term which does not get to be acceptable in any way shape or form. It's really important we are taking this seriously.' ITV are currently standing by John and give his TV career a lifeline. The third episode of John and Lisa's Weekend Kitchen, the show he hosts with wife Lisa, went out yesterday morning. A source said the developments have been 'hard for Lisa', who is 'conscious of their ITV show and doesn't want to jeopardise that.' Question marks now hang over the full recording of BBC1's amateur version of MasterChef, put on ice over the probe into Wallace, and the 20th celebrity series, with 20 faces yet to be named, plus judge Grace Dent. But Davie insisted the show would survive. "It's a great programme, well loved by audiences. It is bigger than individuals. It can survive and prosper, but we've got to make sure we're in the right place in terms of the culture of the show," he said. Saturday Kitchen's Matt Tebbutt and The Great British Menu host Andi Oliver are in the frame to take over the mantle at MasterChef.
