Brad Binder returns to happy hunting ground in Czechia MotoGP
While Brad Binder is experiencing his worse MotoGP season, his Red Bull KTM team has lauded for never giving up despite his well-documented struggles on the RC16.
Binder has fought back bravely over the last the last three rounds after going through a wobble that saw him earn only two points in seven starts. After a solid seventh place in Germany last weekend, he heads into this weekend's Czechia Grand Prix in 12th place in the championship after slumping to 14th at a stage. The Automotodrom Brno is where Binder rode to a sensational victory in only his third premier class start back in 2020.
KTM crew chief Andres Madrid praised the South African for his professional approach. His factory team-mate Pedro Acosta has been very vocal in his criticism of the RC16 this season, but it is reported that Binder has now made peace with the limitations of his bike and is trying to make the best of a bad situation.
Brad Binder 'fully motivated'
'Brad, no matter the situation, enters like 'new' again and this is super-appreciated by the mechanics, the crew and everyone. He is always keen to ride,' Madrid told On Track Off Road.
'No matter how bad the previous weekend might have been, he tries to follow all our work plans and never, ever gives up. He is fully motivated for every grand prix. This is something that I've never seen in a rider quite like Brad: it's that capacity to reset and deliver.'

Jorge Martin returns
Pol Espargaro will replace Maverick Vinales, who underwent shoulder injury this week, in the KTM Tech3 team in Brno. Espargaro will line up next to Enea Bastianini, who has recovered from appendicitis after missing the German MotoGP.
World champion Jorge Martin returns to action in Brno in what will only be his second start in 12 races. The Aprilia man missed the first four races due to a wrist injury. He returned in Qatar, but a crash ruled him out for another seven rounds.

The high-flying Marc Marquez on 344 points is set to dethrone Martin long before the end of the season. He leads his brother Alex by 83 points and Pecco Bagnaia by 147 points.
Saturday's sprint race start at 3pm and the main race on Sunday at 2pm. Brad Binder's brother Darryn will line up for the Moto2 at 12.15pm on Sunday.

Image: Reg Caldecott Marlie Viljoen felt like her world had come crashing down during a recent injury-enforced spell on the sidelines. As she gears up to defend her 400m title at the FISU World University Games in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany, on Monday, she realises it may have been a blessing in disguise. In March, the Tuks student was in high spirits after setting a personal best of 51.42 seconds in the 400m. She was convinced she was capable of even faster times. It didn't happen; within days, every step she took on the track was accompanied by pain. It became unbearable after a race in Botswana, so she went to the doctor. A scan revealed she had suffered a stress fracture. For three weeks, she had to get by on crutches. Crippling blow 'It was as if my world had come crashing down. I was in the best shape of my life, but now I couldn't participate in the South African Championships or the national student meet,' the South African one-lap star said. 'The worst thing was that I had to withdraw from the World Relays after being a member of the 4x400m team that had broken the South African record. 'I almost gave in to total self-pity. Sitting in the stands watching the women's 400m finals at the national championships was agonising. I should have been on the track racing. 'Luckily I realised that feeling sorry for myself wouldn't get me anywhere. I began doing my rehabilitation exercises with dedication. I worked out at the gym, using weights, rowing, the treadmill, cycling, and swimming. "The one thing I missed was not being able to run. It made me realise that I was truly an athlete. 'Mofokeng won't be effecting playing with Appollis unless...' – Ex-Pirates keeper warns
Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper William Shongwe has explained how Orlando Pirates can use Relebohile Mofokeng with the signing of Oswin Appollis. In the past three seasons, Mofokeng has operated on the left side; however, during the pre-season in Spain, the 20-year-old shifted to the ring wing. Shongwe feels the youngster won't be as effective playing as a right winger 'Right now, results aren't the main objective. The coach is looking for a particular combination, and it appears he is still unsure about it,' Shongwe told KickOff. 'The arrival of Appollis has changed the team's structure. Mofokeng has been shifted to the right side to accommodate Appollis,' said the ex-Pirates keeper. 'We don't know if Mofokeng will be effective on the right. Yes, he scored against Pafos, but I didn't see the usual impact he has when playing on the left. 'If Mofokeng plays wide on the right and the opposition's full-back gets past him, he may become irrelevant to the play,' added Shongwe. 'This could overload Van Rooyen. However, if he plays as an inverted winger, he could help strengthen the midfield.' Mofokeng has been linked with a move away from Pirates this transfer window.
