PC Jess made a return just moments before Craig died
Craig had attempted to arrest drunk driver Mick but after turning his back for a moment, Mick was able to grab hold of a baseball bat in his van and club Craig over the head and left him to die in the road.
Having been raced to hospital, his family and friends and long-standing colleague PC Jess watched on as he succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
Craig's death comes after actor Colson Smith was axed from the show as part of on-going cost-cutting measures at the soap and ITV.
As Craig drew his final breaths, PC Jess was among one of the last people to speak to him as she made a surprise return to the soap.
She mentored Craig during his early policing years but has not been seen on-screen for many years.
PC Jess stood with Asha, Maria and Kirk before Craig suffered a seizure which ultimately led to doctors performing CPR.
Sadly, their efforts were unsuccessful and the four were left stunned as they caw Craig die in front of their eyes.
The heartbreaking death scenes left fans in tears as they were left broken over the copper's on-screen passing.
Taking to X - formerly Twitter - to share their thoughts, one viewer shared alongside a string of tearful emoji's: "Some scenes don't just move you, they stay with you. That was today."
Another penned: "Craig's cruel demise. RIP darl."

A fourth admitted they were in tears as they said: "What a sad ending even though I knew it was coming yes I did cry !
"Going to miss Craig RIP Pc Tinker and fantastic acting from @colsonsmith and @realsamia."
Before someone else wrote: "Now I'm crying. We're gonna miss you, Craigey."
It marks the end of actor Colson Smith's 14 years on the cobbles.
The Sun exclusively revealed how his character was being killed off.

A source told us: 'Craig has grown up on the street and he's become part of it so it was a tough decision to make but one that will be worth it.
'PC Tinker will meet his maker in heroic circumstances this summer and there won't be a dry eye in the house when it goes out.
'Colson is taking it well and there's a real feeling that this chapter is closing for him and there are bigger and brighter things ahead."
The star marked his soap exit with a wild, booze-fuelled leaving bash.
The police themed party paid homage to his character PC Tinker and featured fancy dress, balloons and police tape at the tapas bar and restaurant El Gato Negro Tapas in Manchester.
Many of Colson's Corrie co-stars attended full of smiles including Andy Whyment, Brooke Vincent, Georgia Taylor, Lucy Fallon, Jacobs Roberts, Tony Maudsley and Sam Aston.

Inside DJ Fat Tony's star-studded wedding to Stavros Agapiou complete with flamboyant Greek dancing, gospel music, A-list guests and romantic touches
When DJ Fat Tony wed Stavros Agapiou at their star-studded nuptials last month the extravagance and attention to detail was clear for all to see. Tony, 58, and Stavros, 32, who have been engaged since October 2023, made it official at the Welsh Chapel in Charing Cross (formerly the Limelight nightclub), before heading to the swanky Londoner Hotel for the glitzy reception. And no expense was spared for their special day as they treated their guests to flamboyant Greek dancing, drag acts and even gospel music. The wedding attracted some big names too including the likes of Gemma Collins, Davina McCall, Coronation Street 's Claire Sweeney and Kelly Osbourne. Tony had carefully picked the 19th-century church where he began his career when he was just 18. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The Soho venue was a favourite spot for Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, George Michael and Bob Geldof. For the blessing Tony and Stavros Dior Homme suits while The King's Voices choir gave gospel renditions of I'll Be Loving You Always, Higher and Higher and You Got the Love. Even the couple's dogs were in attendance as ring bearers as they wore special wedding outfits themselves. Tony was also surprised with an unlikely wedding cake as he danced the night away with his new husband. In snaps shared by Tony's pals on social media, it was revealed that the wedding cake was far from an understated affair, with each layer boasting letters which spelt out the word 'c**t.' Another snap showed the pair flaunting their best dance moves at the reception after exchanging their vows. Following the ceremony, Tony also took to the stage alongside his new husband to thank the guests in attendance, with the stunning venue decorated with white roses for the occasion. Claire and Boy George were ready to party the night away For his special day, Tony was among the first to arrive at the chapel and was joined by singer Boy George as he prepared to exchange vows with his partner Stavros. The renowned music star, real name Tony Marnach, cut a very dapper figure in an all-black suit featuring a silver brooch. Stavros arrived not long after Tony, and opted for an all-white look, which was made up of a blazer, waistcoat and quirky shorts. Davina McCall turned heads in a bright orange mini dress as she arrived to the chapel holding hands with her partner Michael Douglas. Kelly Osbourne opted for a black sleeveless dress while her locks were styled into a sleek bun for the day. Others in attendance included EastEnders stars Patsy Palmer and Jessie Wallace and fellow actress Jaime Winstone. Earlier in the day, Boy George got ready in the hotel with Claire and her son Jaxon, who she shares with her ex Daniel Reilly. Claire, 54, who is believed to be serving as a bridesmaid, took to Instagram to share some very glamorous photographs from her hotel room. With Tony being hugely popular on the celebrity circuit, it's little surprise that the nuptials hosted an eclectic star-studded guest list and an A-list performance from none other than Kylie Minogue for the evening celebrations. A source told The Sun ahead of the wedding: 'Tony is one of the most popular people on the London celebrity circuit and his wedding is going to be packed full of stars. 'No one had Kate, Gemma and Claire in a bridal party on their bingo cards this year, though. It's going to be incredible to see them lining up together.' They added: 'Tony and Stavros have put a lot of thought into their big day and it's going to be one to remember. As for having Kylie singing at their evening do, it's iconic.' In 2023, Tony opened up about the poignant choice of church for their wedding, noting that he planned to wed in a church in Earls Court which honoured those who died of HIV and AIDS in the eighties and nineties. As was Kelly Osbourne Comedian Grace Campbell also shared a snap of a keepsake from the wedding, with the stern warning: 'Do not drink' He said at the time: 'This church was the only place that had love and compassion for our community. I want to get married there because, for me, it's full circle. It's for everybody that didn't make it to that point.' Earlier this month, much of the reported guest list stepped out to party with DJ Fat Tony at his star-studded stag do. The pair have been engaged since October 2023 after Tony popped the question during a romantic trip to New York.

JoJo Siwa says Chris Hughes 'makes everything better' as he helps her beat fear
The couple who met on ITV reality show Celebrity Big Brother have been enjoying a visit to the Cotswolds, where they toured the stables run by Grand National and Cheltenham Gold Cup-winning trainer Jonjo O'Neill JoJo Siwa has told her followers that Chris Hughes 'makes everything better' after they visited some of his favourite places. The pop star, 22 and ex-Love Island contestant have started dating after meeting on the set of Celebrity Big Brother. After a trip to Mexico to support Dance Moms star Jojo, where she was performing and celebrating her birthday, Chris was keen to show his new partner the Cotswolds. The 32-year-old grew up on a farm in the area and he has had a long association with racing stable Jackdaws Castle, where Grand National and Cheltenham Gold Cup-winning trainer Jonjo O'Neill is based. Chris, who rides out on the gallops when time allows, took Jojo on a tour of the yard - and started to help her overcome her fear of horses. In an Instagram post sharing pictures of the trip, Jojo was seen stroking a pony in a field, with the caption: "Touching a horse for the first time in 8 years (since I was thrown off one during a filming I've been scared to be around them haha loved this though after I warmed up!).' Chris was keen to show Jojo how gentle horses can be at O'Neill's yard, with the pair posing for a picture next to a thoroughbred he rode, showing his talents in the saddle. "Gorgeous boy riding a gorgeous horse," Jojo said, with an image of Chris heading up the gallops at Jackdaws, which has state-of-the-art facilities including a swimming pool and solarium for thoroughbred horses. On the same visit, Chris was seen leading Jojo towards the stables to meet the racers, who have their names on the wall next to each box. A friend of the O'Neill family, Chris became besotted with a mare named Annie Mc, who raced in the Marsh Novices' Chase at the 2020 Cheltenham Festival. The reality TV star has worked as an ambassador for bookmakers Coral and they owned her through the firm's racing club. Annie Mc won seven times, including a Grade Two event and two races at Listed level, performances Chris and the members were proud of. After a win at Warwick in February 2021, he tweeted: "I'm gone, emotional wreck. Pure heart. Shaking. I love you so much Annie, you've my heart forever. Superstar. Jumps racing gets you like this. Best sport in the world." Chris has seen Annie Mc at Carisbrooke Stud, where she was retired to become a broodmare and gave birth to a foal by Doctor Dino. On a rainy day, Chris patted the now 11-year-old former chaser and kissed his "legend" on the nose in one clip. "She fills our hearts with happiness, win, lose or draw and she's just such a special, genuine mare to be involved with," he said previously. "She's one in a lifetime and all of us connected are so proud. Heart of a lion." As well as spending time with horses, Chris and Jojo went to Broadway, enjoying coffee and breakfast on the trip as their relationship continues to blossom. "Nothing beats wholesome & pure days like these," Jojo added on Instagram.
