Benjamin André opens door to Lille exit
Many players have run down their contracts at Lille. Jonathan David will be the most high-profile departure, but the likes of Angel Gomes, Rémy Cabella, and Samuel Umtiti will also leave on free transfers. Edon Zhegrova, who wanted to leave LOSC last summer before being convinced to stay, will also be allowed to leave the club this time around.
There is also the question of the managerial situation. As reported by L'Équipe on Saturday night, Bruno Genesio could leave the club amid frustration with the internal workings of the club and the management of contract situations.
André's contract situation is also a topic. His current deal expires at the end of next season, however, he could yet depart this summer, too. 'Of course, we'll sit down and talk, because there is the age, the risk of being at the end of a cycle at a moment in time. Lots of players that have been here to a while are leaving, it feels like a page is turning. We'll sit down and see what don't parties want to do,' began André, the subject of interest from Qatar last summer.
During his mixed zone interview, he added, 'I want to play, to have fun. I train as if I were 20 years old and I will always do that, no matter what happens.'

Newcastle signs Jacob Ramsey from Aston Villa for reported $53M
NEWCASTLE, England (AP) — Newcastle bolstered its midfield options ahead of a return to the Champions League by signing midfielder Jacob Ramsey from Aston Villa for a reported $53 million on Sunday. The 24-year-old Ramsey, who came through Villa's academy and made 167 appearances for the club, is Newcastle's fourth signing of a transfer window where most of the focus has been on its star striker, Alexander Isak. Sevilla & Elche reach transfer agreement
La Liga newcomers Elche have reached an agreement over the signing of a member of the attacking ranks at Sevilla. That's according to El Chiringuito TV, who point towards Rafa Mir as the player set to be on the move. Frontman Mir for his par spent last season plying his trade on loan away from Sevilla, with Valencia. The 28-year-old went on to endure something of an underwhelming stint at Mestalla, notching just two goals in 22 appearances across all competitions. As alluded to above, though, such numbers, evidently, did not prove enough to discourage those behind the scenes at Elche. This comes amid confirmation on the part of the aforementioned El Chiringuito TV that the framework of a deal for Mir has been put in place between the respective boards at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero, and Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
