Man stabbed to death outside London's Harvey Nichols
The victim, in his 20s, was stabbed to death near Harvey Nichols department store and the five-star Park Tower Club hotel. The hotel is home to the Nusr-Et Steakhouse operated by the celebrity chef Salt Bae.
Reports suggest the man was attacked by a watch thief. London has gained a reputation for ' Rolex Rippers ' on bikes or scooters targeting areas such as Knightsbridge and Mayfair by working with 'spotters' on the lookout for people wearing expensive watches.
A police spokesman said: 'At 21.24 on Wednesday July 9 officers, the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance responded to reports of a stabbing on Seville Street, Knightsbridge.
"Officers attended the scene and found a 24-year-old man who had been stabbed.
"No arrests have been made at this early stage and a crime scene will be in place for some time while officers investigate."
Superintendent Owen Renowden, who leads policing in Kensington and Chelsea, said: 'Our thoughts are with the victim's loved ones following the shocking events that took place last night.
'Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command, supported by local officers, are working at pace to establish the circumstances of what happened.
'We are aware of reports that this incident was a robbery. Although this is an active line of enquiry, we are keeping an open mind about all possible motives and the exact circumstances are still to be determined.
'We understand the impact this incident will have on the local community and you will see extra officers in the area to help answer any questions or concerns. '

A man who impersonated a police officer in an attempt to steal Dh45,000 from an Asian man has been sentenced to three months in jail by the Dubai Criminal Court. Dubai Police launched an investigation and traced the vehicle involved. Though registered under a child's name, the car was found to be in the possession of the defendant's brother, confirming the suspect's access to it. In court, the defendant denied the robbery attempt and claimed that the victim owed him money. He told prosecutors he went to the location to collect the debt and left when others gathered and accused him of financial wrongdoing. The court rejected the defendant's claims, stating that his denial was not credible in light of the evidence. It described the argument as a tactic to avoid conviction. 'The court is not convinced by the defendant's version of events, which it views as a defence strategy aimed at evading responsibility,' the judgment stated. The defendant was found guilty of attempted theft and impersonating a police officer and was sentenced accordingly.

Egyptian tycoon wins bid to throw out UK lawsuit over singer's murder
Egyptian real estate tycoon Hisham Talaat Moustafa on Friday won his bid to throw out a London lawsuit brought against him by a former kickboxing world champion for ordering the murder of a Lebanese pop star in 2008. Talaat Moustafa, CEO of Talaat Moustafa Group, was convicted in Egypt of paying a former police officer to stab Suzanne Tamim, 30, to death at her luxury apartment in Dubai. He was initially sentenced to death in 2009, before his conviction was overturned on appeal. Following two retrials, Talaat Moustafa was convicted again and jailed for 15 years. He was pardoned by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in 2017. Tamim, who rose to fame after winning a television talent show in the 1990s, had been in a relationship with Iraqi-British kickboxer Riyadh Al-Azzawi before she was killed. Al-Azzawi sued Talaat Moustafa at London's High Court in 2022, seeking damages for the psychological and emotional damage he said he suffered as a result of Tamim's murder. Talaat Moustafa sought to have the case thrown out, arguing Al-Azzawi's lawyers did not provide all relevant evidence when they were given permission to bring the case and that it should be heard in Dubai, rather than London. In a ruling dismissing the case on Friday, Judge Christopher Butcher said Al-Azzawi did not disclose relevant information about whether the lawsuit was brought too late when he sought permission to serve the case on Talaat Moustafa in Egypt. The judge also said that "the courts of Dubai are clearly and distinctly more appropriate" if the case were to proceed. Talaat Moustafa's English lawyers did not immediately comment. Al-Azzawi's lawyers could not be contacted for comment.
