Shrine board commences 3-day poojan at Katra ahead of Pran Pratishtha ceremony

During the poojan rituals, Anshul Garg, chief executive officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, stated that as per the board's 75th meeting directives under the chairmanship of lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha, five temples will be dedicated on July 13 across distinct villages of Reasi district namely Gorta Kalika Sathaan, village-Harotkote; Pancheri Galli, village-Dangakote; Tote Devsthan, village-Tote; village-Devigarh of tehsil Bhomag and village-Chasana.
The CEO added that committees comprising shrine board officials and local community members have been formed for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony and idol installation in each temple. The CEO emphasised that the enshrined idols will become a focal point of devotion in these villages, bringing divine blessings to future generations. He also underscored that the shrine board shall be entrusting management of these temples to the local community and for facilitation of effective management of temple activities shall be installing CCTV cameras at each of the newly constructed temples to ensure the sanctity of the premises.

Student Killed, 5 Injured As Landslide Hits School In J&K's Poonch
Poonch/Jammu: A student was killed and five people were injured when a landslide triggered by heavy overnight rain hit a government school in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, officials said. Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed grief over the loss of the life of the young student. A large boulder rolled down onto the tin roof of the primary school in the Bhainch-Kalsian area and fell in a classroom, injuring several students. A student, Ehsan Ali (5), died, the officials said. They said four students -- Mohammad Safeer (7), Bilal Farooq (8), Aftab Ahmad (7) and Tobia Kausar (7) -- and a teacher were injured in the incident and are undergoing treatment at Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital in Poonch. The teacher suffered minor injuries. In a post on X, LG Sinha condoled the student's death. "The news of the death of a 5-year-old child due to the rockslide that crashed into Primary School, Kalsian, Poonch is heart-rending. May God give strength to the bereaved parents to bear this shock. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured children," he said. Chief Minister Abdullah, in a post on X, extended his condolences to the bereaved family and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. He said he has directed the administration to ensure proper treatment of the injured and to conduct a thorough inquiry into the incident. Immediately after receiving information about the incident, Poonch Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal visited the district hospital and met the injured and their families, the officials said. He directed the medical team to provide the best possible treatment to the children. As immediate relief, Kundal disbursed financial assistance under the Red Cross Fund, providing Rs 1 lakh to the family of Ehsan Ali and Rs 50,000 each to the families of the injured children, according to the officials. He also assured the children's families of all possible assistance from the district administration.

Katra (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], July 13 (ANI): In an initiative aimed at fostering spirituality and preserving cultural heritage, the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, during its 75th Meeting held under the chairmanship of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, approved the dedication of five newly constructed temples to the public in the month of July along with the construction of five additional temples in District Reasi. According to a release, as part of this initiative, the Shrine Board has formally dedicated the five temples today at each location in distinct villages across the district, namely Gorta Kalika Sathaan, Village-Harotkote; Pancheri Galli, Village-Dangakote; Tote Devsthan, Village-Tote; Village-Devigarh of Tehsil Bhomag and Village-Chasana. Prior to the installation of the Holy Idols at the newly constructed temples, the Shrine Board organised a spiritually enriching three-day Hawan and Puja ceremony at the Spiritual Growth Centre (SGC), Katra. These rituals were conducted with deep reverence by the Shrine Pujaris under the guidance of Padma Prof. Vishwamurti Shastri for invoking divine blessings and sanctifying the proceedings in alignment with age-old Vedic traditions. Following these preparatory rites, the sacred Pran Pratishtha ceremonies-rituals and Kanya Poojan were performed at the respective temple locations. Each ceremony marked the formal consecration of the temple and its deity, carried out by learned Pujaris of the Shrine Board in the presence of local community members and Shrine Board officials. He underscored that by handing over the responsibility for daily worship and routine maintenance to local residents, the Board aims to strengthen grassroots spiritual engagement in preserving cultural heritage while ensuring that the temples are maintained in a manner that reflects the community's devotional spirit and traditions. CEO also exhorted that the Shrine Board shall be installing CCTV cameras at each of the newly constructed temples as a vital measure to ensure the sanctity of the premises and support the effective management of temple activities. Notably, as part of the sacred Pran Pratishtha rituals, the Shrine Board upheld the tradition of offering communal blessings by distributing Halwa and Channa Prasad to all those present on the occasion at the respective locations.
