Pippa Middleton wore ballet flats way before they came back in fashion - here's where to shop this summer's 'it' shoe
Few trends have made a comeback quite as stylishly as the ballet flat. Once a defining footwear choice of the early 2000s, the ballet flat has re-emerged in recent years as a staple - and this time, it's more versatile and coveted than ever.
One person who has been ahead of the curve is the Princess of Wales ' sister, Pippa Middleton.
Known for her effortlessly chic wardrobe, Pippa has been a loyal fan of ballet flats for years - long before their current revival.
From sleek monochrome designs and classic neutrals to bold pops of red, she has consistently proven these flats are both timeless and endlessly wearable.
This season, the high street is brimming with ballet flats for every taste - whether you're after a minimalist style, something floral and feminine or full-on glamour with embellishments.
At the top of my wish list are the Amber flats from LK Bennett. With a sleek silhouette and elaborate strap, they're the perfect blend of sophistication and sparkle.
The Mary Janes from Tabitha Simmons' collection for Next are also a standout thanks to their scalloped edging and metallic gold finish - ideal for day-to-night dressing.
For those prioritising comfort without compromising on style, Vivaia delivers with a red lace-up design that is made to carry you through the day in ease.
Ever-iconic Pretty Ballerinas are offering chic mint green and white woven leather shoes, which are light, airy and ideal for warmer weather.
And if you're looking to make a statement, Penelope Chilvers and Schuh are embracing bold animal prints, with leopard and zebra designs leading the charge.
For a feminine finish, Aldo's Floralina Ballerinas in a pretty lilac tone will add just the right touch of charm.
Take a look below to see these and more of my favourite ballet flats this season - there is something for everyone.

Newly-engaged Emily Atack shares stunning bikini snap as she cosies up to fiancé Alistair Garner amid romantic getaway to the sun-soaked Pyrenees
Newly-engaged Emily Atack shared stunning snaps from her romantic French Pyrenees getaway with fiancé Alistair Garner on Sunday. The Rivals star, 35, who announced the hunk had popped the question on Friday, looked gorgeous in a plunging black bikini top and colourful bottoms while soaking up the sunshine. Emily and a shirtless Alistair enjoyed lollypops as they relaxed on the lawn before enjoying a glass of wine and a cooling soak in the pool. Loving every moment of her trip the actress branded her rustic rental home's views 'heaven on earth' and gushed: 'Could stay forever'. Emily revealed the happy news of her engagement alongside a loved up snap with her shirtless fiancé on Friday. The couple, who welcomed son Barney in June 2024, looked happier than ever as they beamed for the camera while also showing off the stunner's dazzling diamond ring, which appeared to be a square cut rock on an elegant gold band. Emily gushed in the caption: 'It's Friday, I'm in love' while fans and famous friends rushed to the comments to offer their congratulations. Laura Whitmore wrote: 'Yassssss! Delighted for you both you cuties xxx', while Fleur East said: 'Woooo! Let's gooo!!! Congrats' and Sophie Ellis Bextor shared applause emojis. Tilly Kepper typed: 'Congratulations!!' followed by Emily's Rivals co-star Bella Maclean who gushed: 'AHHHHHHHHHHH'. The actress has known her boyfriend Alistair for almost three decades as her mother is the sister of Alistair's stepmother Jane Garner. They were introduced after Emily's aunt started dating Alistair's father Stephen Garner in the early nighties before they got married in 1994. Writing in her 2019 autobiography Are We There Yet?, Emily gave clues as to why she's ended up in a relationship with Alistair, 38, because her cousins 'understand each other on a deep level.' She says: 'Cousins are the best invention since the Game Boy. They are basically 50 per cent sibling, 50 per cent mate. You look the same but different... 'You understand each other on a deep, deep, level and you have a smidgen more social etiquette towards them than your brother or sister... Emily revealed the happy news of her engagement alongside a loved up snap with her shirtless fiancé on Friday 'It makes me sad for my friends who don't have that relationship with their cousins, because mine were the best friends I ever had. They are still my best friends to this day.' Emily rarely comments on her private life but has now admitted that she feels as if she has 'won the lottery' with the little one, and added that she couldn't have gone through the 'difficult labour' with anyone but her partner. She told HELLO! magazine last year: 'I couldn't ask for a better partner and Al is the only person on this earth that I could have done this with. 'It was a very difficult birth and after 12 hours of labour I ended up having an emergency caesarean, but he was so calm.' Emily also described Alistair as her 'literal rock' and can not picture her life with anyone else. She added: 'All the cliches of life become true when you fall in love and have a baby. He's my rock, but he really, literally, is my rock; I couldn't do life with anyone else but him.' She explained that they had hoped to have a family of their own after a year of dating and discovered her pregnancy in November 2023 when she realised she had missed a period. Emily gushed in the caption: 'It's Friday, I'm in love' while fans and famous friends rushed to the comments to offer their congratulations She told The Times: '[Alistair] joked, "Let's buy a pregnancy test then" We did and I was pregnant. 'It was the happiest, most perfect day of my life. Not long afterwards, he packed all his stuff in a van in Manchester where he lived and arrived at my house.' The actress explained that shortly after this, they bought a house together and Barney conveniently arrived the day after they finished unpacking. Emily has a large number of cousins courtesy of the sprawling families of both her parents, actress Kate and singer father Keith Atack, who split in 2007. Alistair hails from her mother's side, being the stepson of Kate's sister Jane who married his father Stephen Garner, who passed away in the summer of 2023, leaving Emily devastated.

EastEnders fans ‘work out' explosive affair storyline as shock Anthony Trueman return is revealed
EASTENDERS fans are getting excited about a potential upcoming storyline – as they realised one character's return could spell trouble. Yesterday, it was announced that Nicholas Bailey would be back on out screens as hunky Dr Anthony Trueman – who left some hearts broken in his wake. 6 6 Most notably, he was wrapped up in a shocking love triangle with Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and her daughter Zoe (Michelle Ryan), who was raised as her sister. As Anthony's father Patrick (Rudolph Walker) prepares to marry Yolande (Angela Wynter), Anthony has been confirmed to be returning to the Square to attend the big event. But with Zoe also making a comeback to Walford, will there be old sparks being reignited? Fans certainly seemed to think so, sharing their theories on Instagram as the announcement was made. "Not this happening at the same time Zoe comes back 🤣" wrote one. "I'm all for this return. Now please can Anthony have a scene with Zoe 👀." wrote another. While a third wrote: "OMG 😍👑💙 Nicolas Bailey can't wait to 👀 him reunited with Patrick and Yolande and Kat and Zoe 👑👑👑👑" Anthony Trueman hasn't been seen on the Square in over 11 years - though his first time around proved to be eventful. Shortly after arriving in 2000, Anthony struck up a romance with Kat – despite the protests of his mother, Audrey, who deeply disapproved of her. While their romance fizzled out, things turned toxic quickly when he moved on with Zoe Slater – the teenage sister (later revealed to be daughter) of Kat. Anthony Trueman and Kat Moon meet as he returns on EastEnders Although he even got engaged to Zoe, he still held a flame for Kat, and when Zoe left the Square the pair slept together once again – on the day he was supposed to marry Zoe. With Kat and Anthony back on, their differing social circles became more apparent, with Kat growing close to Alfie Moon (Shane Ritchie) who helped her with her table etiquette ahead of an important dinner. Kat would later discover she was pregnant by Anthony, and considered having an abortion, only to suffer a miscarriage before she could even tell him. Realising they were too different, Kat broke up with Anthony to be with Alfie, who she ended up marrying. When he accidentally causing the death of a pregnant patient, Anthony decided he needed a fresh start and left Walford in 2003 to go travelling. Since then, we've known that he returned to the UK, moved to Scotland and got married – making brief returns for his dad's first wedding to Yolanda, and his brother Paul's funeral. 6 6 6

Harper Beckham, 14, takes another leaf out of mum Victoria's beauty book by leading her own make-up tutorial
Harper Beckham took another leaf out of mum Victoria's fashion handbook on Sunday by sharing her very own make-up tutorial on social media. The fashion-conscious 14-year old emulated her famous mother by featuring in the latest beauty tutorial to appear on Victoria's Instagram platform. The former Spice Girl, 51, regularly encourages followers to 'get ready' with her in short social media videos, ostensibly created to promote her VB range of beauty products. But it was the youngest of her four children with former footballer David Beckham taking centre stage on Sunday, with Harper on hand to sample one of her latest products - the flush colour wash. Across a 34 second clip, the teenager shows viewers how to correctly apply the blood red serum - described as an 'innovative liquid blush' - before blowing them a farewell kiss. Victoria later shared similar content of herself applying the formula to her cheeks while dressed in a silk patterned bathrobe. Following the success of her eponymous womenswear label, Victoria launched her own beauty line, Victoria Beckham Beauty in 2019. But the designer previously admitted her daughter was banned from leaving the house wearing makeup, despite having an obvious passion for it. She admitted her daughter has been able to 'contour for quite some time', as she revealed she shares her passion for make-up. She told The Times: 'She's been able to do a full face and contour for quite some time. She's good at doing it very naturally.' She also revealed how their shared love of beauty means they love going shopping for cosmetics together. 'Going to Space NK is her favourite treat after school,' she said. 'If she does well in a test I'll take her to the one down the road — it's her favourite thing. She's obsessed.' Harper took her first bona fide step into the spotlight when she presented her mother with a Harper's Bazaar Women of the Year award in 2024, even making a speech about her 'amazing Mummy'. 'I'm so nervous,' she told the star-studded audience. 'Especially as tonight's a school night. Hopefully, this isn't going to get me in trouble.' Across a 34 second clip, the teenager shows viewers how to correctly apply the blood red serum - described as an 'innovative liquid blush' At her mother's perfume launch in New York she revealed her ambition for the future is to create an 'amazing' brand - just like her mother's eponymous fashion label. But Victoria will be eager to shield Harper from the pitfalls her eldest son Brooklyn experienced while trying to find his feet. However, according to PR expert Riley Gardiner from No Strings Public Relations, Harper is in a more profitable position than Kim ever was. 'What sets Harper apart is the network she's plugged into—not just in the celebrity world, but also in high fashion and serious business,' she said. 'This gives her an advantage over Kim Kardashian, who built her empire initially through reality TV and by riding the wave of controversy.'
