Real Madrid Revenues Surpass €1 Bln for 2nd Consecutive Season
On Thursday, La Liga giants Real Madrid announced the details of their 2024/2025 financial year.
The Spanish giants reached a new milestone as their revenues surpassed €1.185 billion, excluding player transfer income.
This marks a 10% increase compared to the previous year and reinforces the club's status as the first football club in history to surpass the €1 billion revenue mark in two consecutive seasons.
According to the club's official statement, net profit after tax amounted to €24 million, while adjusted operating profit (EBITDA) reached €208 million, rising to €243 million when factoring in full operational earnings which are the highest figures in the club's history in this regard.
Real Madrid also continued to maintain strong financial stability. As of June 30, 2025, the club's net equity stood at €598 million, with €166 million in available cash, and a net debt of just €12 million, resulting in a debt-to-operating profit ratio of 0.0x, signalling a robust financial position and sustainable growth model free from reliance on borrowing.

NJPW's G1 Climax 35 to Kick off Today
Rana Atef Today, New Japan Pro Wrestling will begin its most iconic tournament and the most prestigious one in the global wrestling scene, G1 Climax. 20 competitors will do battle in a round robin tournament that will determine the strongest on the roster and become the number one contender for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20 on January 4th, 2026. Sabre Jr. ZSJ was the winner of last year's G1 Climax. Also, AEW's Konosuke Takeshita will participate in his second G1 Climax tournament in the B Block. The block also includes Shota Umino, and Ren Narita. IMF to G20: Resolving Global Trade Tensions Safeguards Growth
Taarek Refaat The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has urged G20 finance ministers and central bank governors to give immediate attention to resolving global trade tensions, warning that prolonged friction poses a direct threat to global economic growth and financial stability. In a prepared statement published on the IMF's website, Gita Gopinath, First Deputy Managing Director, emphasized that policy uncertainty was a central theme at the third G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting held in South Africa. She stressed that effective international cooperation is key to overcoming ongoing challenges. 'The persistence of trade tensions, coupled with weakening demand and growing uncertainty, especially in the U.S. and China, has weighed down global growth prospects,' Gopinath said. According to the IMF's April projections, the global economy is expected to grow by just 2.8% in 2025 and 3.0% in 2026, well below the historical average of 3.7%. The Fund noted shifts in global trade patterns, such as accelerated imports ahead of tariff impositions, a pivot in trade flows toward new partners, and the positive impact of some trade agreements in lowering average tariffs and improving financial conditions. On inflation, Gopinath observed that slowing demand and energy prices have helped contain price pressures, although inflationary dynamics still vary significantly between countries. She called on policymakers to implement structural reforms, rebuild fiscal buffers, ensure public debt sustainability, preserve central bank independence, and tailor monetary policy to country-specific conditions. Regarding domestic revenue mobilization, Gopinath noted that low-income countries could boost revenues by up to 7% of GDP if they fully harness their tax potential. The IMF reiterated its commitment to supporting efforts to improve public spending efficiency, strengthen government investment management, and enhance state institutions, especially in light of constrained fiscal environments and the pursuit of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
