Cristian Chivu appointed as Inter Milan coach

MILAN (AP) — Cristian Chivu was appointed coach of Inter Milan on Monday.
The club said he had signed a contract with the Nerazzurri until June 30, 2027.
The 44-year-old replaces Simone Inzaghi, who took over as coach of Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal on Wednesday.
The appointment was announced just hours after Parma agreed to terminate Chivu's contract.

Chelsea youngster Donnell McNeilly rejects contract offer, plans to leave club
Chelsea Under-21s striker Donnell McNeilly has rejected a contract offer to stay at Stamford Bridge and is planning to leave this summer. McNeilly's current deal expires at the end of the month and Chelsea wanted to give him an extension. But the 19-year-old, who has not been given a chance to play for the senior side despite consistently being among the leading scorers in the youth ranks in recent years, is looking to leave in order to get first-team football. McNeilly is generating interest from Premier League and EFL clubs. The teenager's main priority is joining a side with the best pathway to getting senior minutes so he can kick on with the next phase of his career As well as scoring 15 times in 28 appearances for the Under-21s this season, the striker showed his ability against Chelsea's senior players in a training drill game back in March. As The Athletic reported at the time, McNeilly netted a brace in a 3-0 victory for an Under-21 team against a group comprising of first-team members. Ronaldo on his club future after Portugal win? 'Nothing will change'
It was a night of adulation and another trophy for Cristiano Ronaldo as the Portugal star shed tears after helping his team win the Nations League on Sunday. Ronaldo scored to help Portugal draw level with Spain 2-2 in the final, then watched as his teammates won the penalty shootout 5-3. "I have many titles with my clubs, but nothing is better than winning for Portugal," Ronaldo said. "These are tears. It's mission accomplished and so much joy." Ronaldo conceded Saturday that he won't be able to play forever. On Sunday he was driving the team again, though it was initially a frustrating game as his chances were limited by Spain's hard-working defenders.
