Crochet Is Summer's Hottest Trend—and We Found Luxe-looking Pieces at Amazon From Just $14

Crochet Is Summer's Hottest Trend—and We Found Luxe-looking Pieces at Amazon From Just $14

In recent years, crochet fashion has made a formidable comeback. The trend has evolved from colorful granny square cardigans and quirky handmade accessories to refined, neutral fashion-forward pieces. Now, elevated crochet fashion is all the rage, and you're sure to spot crochet swim cover-ups, travel bags, and more at every stylish summer destination.
My mood board is filled with vacation-ready crochet fashion, but I'm unwilling to spend a fortune on the trend. If, like me, you're shopping for this summer trend on a budget, you'll be happy to hear that Amazon is full of elevated crochet pieces. Keep reading to shop resort-ready matching sets, comfy sandals, everyday purses, and more from just $14.
Amazon is one of my favorite destinations for matching sets, and this crochet outfit is one of the best I've found. It has a feminine and delicate appearance, with crochet scalloping at the hemlines and a flowy fit. One reviewer called it a 'vacation must-have,' since it looks elevated and feels 'very stretchy.' Wear it to the beach or out to dinner, or mix and match the items with other travel staples.
This maxi dress comes with the benefit of an inner slip to keep you covered. That means this dress isn't limited to a swimsuit cover-up; you can also wear it while sightseeing or even out to dinner. One reviewer called this dress 'comfortable and well-made,' adding that it was a magnet for compliments. Bonus: According to another shopper, it makes a great maternity dress, too.
No one will guess this elevated matching set is from Amazon. It has a luxe appearance, with an intricate woven pattern and sophisticated silhouette. According to one shopper, it feels 'soft and silky,' and another reviewer praised its 'forgiving' stretch that helped accommodate curves. I would be happy to invest in this set, but lucky for me, it's just $25 today.
Woven flats are the closed-toe sandal alternative that's taking over summer fashion. This highly rated pair features a white vegan leather exterior that resembles crochet fabric. One reviewer said the memory foam insole 'feels like walking on clouds,' adding that the shoes have 'held up beautifully after weeks of daily wear.' They can be dressed up or down for just about any itinerary, so they're a perfect do-it-all shoe for your next vacation.
More than 4,000 shoppers purchased this crochet top last month. It has a timeless bohemian look, with a loose knit and oversized fit that's perfect for vacation relaxation. I'd throw it over a swimsuit for beach days or layer it over a tank for daytime wear. Plus, it makes an ideal light layer on chilly nights. It's available in 19 colors, though this white option is the most versatile for travel.
I sport slouchy totes year-round, and this crochet bag is the perfect way to wear the style in summer. One reviewer bought this tote for a trip to Hawaii and was able to fit two beach towels, two water bottles, sunscreen, and more inside. It comes in a variety of shapes and colors, including an extra spacious option and a Paris-printed design.
Crochet swimsuits never go out of style, and I love this colorful bikini that will bring a retro vibe to any beach vacation. One reviewer wrote that their 'jaw dropped at the quality' of this suit, while another called it their 'go-to swimsuit.'
'I get more compliments on this cover-up than anything else I own,' one reviewer wrote of this summer staple. It has an effortless look, with a slouchy fit and beautiful drape. I love the scalloped edges that give it a slightly preppy appearance. More than 3,000 shoppers purchased this cover-up last month, so grab yours before it flies off the virtual shelf.
Looking to dip your toe into crochet fashion? This hair scarf is the perfect way to do so. It's the ideal accessory for any daytime itinerary, with a timeless appearance that will make any outfit look sophisticated.
The safest way to wear a new trend is to pair it with something tried and true. Plus, you tend to get more wear out of these items since they won't read as dated in a year or two. I'm in love with these flip-flops that pair a cushy brown sole with a crochet upper. These flip-flop sandals will look effortlessly fashionable on the beach or out to dinner, and you can snag them for less than $30 today.
This crochet tank looks much more expensive than its $22 price tag. I love the V-neckline and elastic waistband, which create a waist-cinching effect. The knit is slightly sparkly thanks to tiny, discreet sequins that catch the light as you move. Layer this vest over a nude tank and pair it with white linen pants, pleated trousers, or simple denim shorts.
A 'little black dress' is a vacation must-pack, and this crochet option puts a unique spin on the classic style. The crochet weave emulates a seashell pattern, making it ideal for an oceanside getaway, and reviewers love the 'retro vibe' of the design. One reviewer, who wore the cover-up in Ibiza, raved about its 'comfy material,' while another described it as 'soft against the skin.'
It's rare to find a piece that works just as well for summer vacation as it does in the cooler months, but this versatile sweater vest achieves just that. In the summer, I'd pair it with linen shorts or breezy pants, but it would make an ideal light layer in fall, too. The scalloped crochet trim and gold buttons add a sophisticated element to an otherwise simple tank, and the tighter weave won't allow any undergarments to peek through.
When you're limited on packing space, it's best to opt for convertible bags that can be worn for any activity. The Sak's crochet option can be worn as a crossbody, shoulder bag, or clutch. One reviewer purchased this purse for a European vacation and found it held all the daily essentials, adding that it was easy to wipe clean after a red wine spill.
If you're not careful, crochet items can sometimes read as cheap, but you won't have that problem with this 'stunning' maxi dress. It has a modest silhouette, with gorgeous bell sleeves and an A-line drape. The slightly sheer fabric makes this an ideal beach cover-up, although one reviewer styled it for a dinner in Greece, too. It comes in eight gorgeous colors, but I'm particularly fond of this navy option.

Sydney Sweeney Jeans Co. Breaks Silence on ‘Woke' Backlash

The company behind Sydney Sweeney's new fashion campaign finally spoke out about the 'woke' backlash to its 'great jeans' ads featuring the star. American Eagle wrote in a brief statement to Instagram on Friday, ''Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans' is and always was about the jeans. Her jeans. Her story.' In other words, not about 'genes.' 'We'll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way,' the company added, concluding with the inclusive message, 'Great jeans look good on everyone.' Sweeney's ads with the company, which play on the words 'genes' and 'jeans' to celebrate her both looks and the pants, had been criticized for promoting eugenics, with some social media users going so far as to liken the campaign's messaging to 'Nazi propaganda.' Sweeney tells viewers in one ad, 'Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality and even eye color. My jeans are blue.' At a time when the Trump administration has begun dismantling diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in the public and private sectors, the ads struck some as a nod toward alt-right conservatism. Meanwhile, on the right, internet comments from random people have become a fixation in the news cycle—worthy of attention from Trump's White House officials who have claimed 'Democrats' are behind the supposed 'woke' outrage. No Democratic lawmakers have mentioned Sweeney's ads publicly. But that hasn't stopped Fox News from running so many segments on the supposed outrage this week that CNN was able to create an extended montage on Abby Phillip's NewsNight program. Per CNN's Brian Stelter on X Friday, 'right-wing media outlets' have taken the opportunity to 'hype a left-wing 'meltdown' that isn't happening' to distract from revelations about Donald Trump's friendship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. A search for how many times Sweeney's jeans story and Epstein's stories were discussed on cable news this week revealed that between Monday and Thursday night, Fox News mentioned Sweeney '181 times' and only '18 times for Jeffrey Epstein.' The White House has egged on that conversation, with Vice President JD Vance telling the Ruthless podcast Friday, 'My political advice to the Democrats is, continue to tell everybody who thinks Sydney Sweeney is attractive is a Nazi.' Trump's communicators director Steven Cheung insisted that private citizens' critiques of the ads are 'Cancel culture run amok. This warped, moronic, and dense liberal thinking is a big reason why Americans voted the way they did in 2024. They're tired of this bulls--t.' And Ted Cruz took the opportunity to let everyone know how hot he thinks Sweeney is.

Kylie Jenner Serves Serious '90s Nostalgia With Her ‘Deep French Manicure'

However, when you buy something through our retail links, Condé Nast may earn an affiliate '90s were an iconic time for beauty. We're talking frosted eye shadow, brown lipstick, and, of course, the infamous skinny brow. So it's no wonder Kylie Jenner decided to pull from this nostalgic era for her latest manicure. This nail look is simple, classic, and straight from the '90s. It's a French manicure with white tips and a nude base, but rather than a regular French or even a micro Frenchie (which pal Hailey Bieber wore recently), it's a thicker, chunkier white French tip. Jenner's go-to celebrity nail artist Zola Ganzorigt is the one responsible for this nostalgic manicure coined the 'Deep '90s French.' In an Instagram post, Ganzorigt shared that she pulled inspiration from the cover of a '90s issue of Nails Magazine, so it really is straight from that time. While square-shaped nails reigned supreme in the '90s and have stood the test of time, Jenner opted instead for medium-length almond-shaped tips to modernize the look and customize it to her liking. Here's some good news about this mani: It is so easy to recreate. The look is straightforward, making it ideal if you're a beginner DIY-ing your nails at home or if you prefer more minimalistic nail art. At the nail salon, you can expect a coat of a nude base followed by a couple coats of white on each nail tip. Your nail artist will then use a small nail brush to shape the French tip to perfection. If you're doing it at home, there are even French manicure stamp tools you can buy to simply press the shape onto your nails. It literally couldn't be easier, which is great news, because we're definitely going to need to copy this look ASAP. Saviland French Tip Nail Stamp $10.00, Amazon Essie Nail Polish in Snowy White $10.00, Amazon Jenner is a big fan of a good French mani lately. From disco polka-dot nails and studded Frenchies to a twisted French, she's leaning into the look big time. While her previous French manicures have been more intricate with added designs, her deep '90s French is a slight departure from that in its simplicity. Nail minimalists will be on board. Jenner's also been trying other retro vibes lately. She's been spotted multiple times this summer wearing the season's hottest fashion pattern: polka dots. The beauty mogul wears and curates a lot of vintage pieces, so we can't say we're surprised. After all, who doesn't love a bit of nostalgia?
