Amanda Holden wows in latex dress as she attends 'blue carpet' event in London

Daily Mirror01-05-2025

Amanda Holden stunned as her other stars were out celebrating the 100th anniversary of McVitie's Chocolate Digestives at a special pop-up event in the centre of London's Piccadilly Circus
Amanda Holden looked sensational as she graced an event celebrating the 100th anniversary of McVitie's Chocolate Digestives. She turned heads in a figure-hugging, chocolate-coloured dress, joining Roman Kemp, Denise van Outen, and other celebrities at the glamorous 'blue carpet' event in Piccadilly Circus.
Also in attendance were TV personalities Jess Wright, Tasha Ghouri, Dani Dyer and Scarlett Moffatt as well as journalist Sir Trevor McDonald, all gathered for the unveiling of an immersive pop-up store dedicated to biscuit enthusiasts. The pop-up experience features exciting giveaways, specially crafted treats, and a personalised biscuit station, creating a delightful celebration to honour the milestone.

Talking about the event she said: "As a lifelong fan of eating and dunking Chocolate Digestives, it's an honour to celebrate the 100th birthday at this pop-up experience."
She described it as a must-visit for any fans of the beloved Chocolate Biscuit. She continued: "I remember when I first introduced them to my children as a little treat. They are still enjoyed by me and my girls." She also shared she has been eating the biscuits incorrectly this whole time. "Turns out, it's meant to be enjoyed choc side down - who knew?"
Last week, McVitie's dazzled Londoners with a spectacular light show projecting images of the beloved biscuits onto the city's iconic landmarks, all in honour of it's 100th anniversary celebrations.
This weekend the centenary celebrations continue with the exclusive pop-up event right in the heart of London at Piccadilly Circus. It's open to the public for free but for one weekend only, so if you want to visit you'll need to clear your calendar.
At the centre of this unique experience is the Biscuit Bar, where visitors can indulge in never-before-seen treats crafted from a variety of Digestives.

The menu is a treasure trove of bold and surprising flavour pairings, masterminded by Robert Craggs, the Michelin-trained head development chef at McVitie's.
Among the innovative offerings are the 'Hot Pink' biscuit, blending White Chocolate Digestives with wasabi, raspberry, and white chocolate, and the 'Loaded Gold' biscuit, adorned with hazelnut praline and salted caramel.

For those looking to add a personal touch, there's also a station where Digestive devotees can create their own customised chocolatey delights with a selection of toppings.
Speaking about the milestone, Benazir Barlet-Bartada from McVitie's shared: 'This 100th anniversary is not just about a biscuit. t's a national celebration of every biscuit break, every conversation, and every cherished moment we've all shared with Chocolate Digestives over the last century.'
To celebrate the iconic 100th birthday of the nation's cherished biscuit, McVitie's Chocolate Digestives has also created a selection of limited-edition merch, from snazzy tees to cosy socks and stylish caps.

All of these are available to win as part of the 'spin and win' taking place as part of the event.
But if that wasn't enough, there is also a collection of art pieces inspired by – and even made from – the tea-break staple.
Commissioned mosaic maestro Ed Chapman spent over 180 painstaking hours, using more than 1,000 McVitie's Digestives - Milk, Dark, Gold, and White varieties - to meticulously piece together portraits of British legends including David Bowie, Sir Trevor McDonald, and Dame Judi Dench.

There's also a unique work showing 25 of the greatest moments from the last 100 years, each depicted on individual Chocolate Digestives, brought to life on a biscuit using a delicate airbrushing technique.
Benazir Barlet-Bartada expressed excitement saying: 'We're thrilled to offer our loyal fans this incredible experience as a way to say thank you for the unwavering support over the last century - here's to the next 100.'
Biscuit buffs can hit up the McVitie's Chocolate Digestives Experience without spending a penny.
It's popping up from Friday 2nd May to Monday 5th May, 11AM – 7PM, at 44-48 Regent Street in Piccadilly, London, W1.

People are only just realising why King Charles' birthday parade happens five months early

Trooping The Colour, the annual birthday parade in honour of King Charles, will take place on Saturday, June 14 - but some fans are only just learning why it's so early Royal enthusiasts are now uncovering the reason behind King Charles' birthday procession taking place a whole five months before his real birth date. Despite King Charles actually being born on November 14, the Trooping The Colour ceremony, which also doubles as his official birthday parade, is scheduled for Saturday. Londoners and visitors alike are anticipated to throng the capital's streets to witness the magnificent display that will feature over 1,400 soldiers, 400 musicians, and 200 horses marching to Horse Guards Parade by way of The Mall. Following the procession, there's an RAF flypast that attracts the gaze of senior Royals from Buckingham Palace's balcony. ‌ While the tradition of Trooping The Colour in June is well-established, it has just dawned on some fans why Charles celebrates his birthday so prematurely, reports Surrey Live. ‌ A curious Redditor, prior to the previous year's event, inquired: "Why is King Charles having birthday parades today when his birthday is on November 14th?" To which, another participant replied: "The sovereigns of [the UK] – all of them – officially have the birthday of the 2nd Saturday in June. As per the Royal Family's official website, the grand spectacle of Trooping The Colour has recognised the official birthday of Britain's monarch for over 260 years. The Household Division further explains that this celebration most likely started with King Charles II's reign, which spanned from 1660 to 1685. The British Army's historical banners, known as 'Colours', are explained on its website: "Regimental flags of the British Army were historically described as 'Colours," it states. ‌ It goes on to detail the significance of these Colours: "The principal role of a regiment's Colours was to provide a rallying point on the battlefield." The Household Division sheds light on the origins of the ceremonial parade we cherish today, noting that young officers would stride through the ranks with the Colours aloft, inspiring the tradition. The website elaborates on how this evolved into a ceremonial practice: "So, what today is a great tradition began life as a vital and practical parade designed to aid unit recognition before a battle commenced." ‌ It also marks the transition of this parade into a royal celebration: "In 1748, it was decided that this parade would be used to mark the official birthday of the Sovereign and it became an annual event after George III became King in 1760," the narrative continues. Highlighting the pageantry of the modern-day event, it adds: "Today, this colourful spectacular remains a celebration of the Sovereign's official birthday." ‌ Despite George III sharing the same November birth month as the current monarch, June was selected for the Trooping the Colour due to its typically more favourable weather conditions. Royal Museums Greenwich comments on the practicality of the date change: "With a November birthday being too cold for a celebratory parade, he tied his celebrations in with the annual Trooping the Colour military parade." ‌ The text concludes by mentioning Prince Charles's birth year and place, as well as his maternal lineage: Charles was born in 1948 at Buckingham Palace, during the reign of King George VI, his grandfather on his mother's side. He was christened Charles Philip Arthur George on December 15 of that year in the Music Room of Buckingham Palace by the then Archbishop of Canterbury, Geoffrey Fisher. The late Queen Elizabeth – who tragically passed away in September 2022 at the age of 96 – also had two birthday celebrations, marking her birthday publicly in June. However, her actual birthday was on April 21. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. Amanda Holden, 54, puts on a leggy display in zesty green mini dress as she heads to work in the sunshine

Amanda Holden showed off her incredible figure in a green mini dress as she made a leggy appearance at Heart Breakfast Show on Friday. The presenter, 54, was all smiles in the outfit, which she accessorised with a large pair of sunglasses and silver Christian Louboutin heels. As temperatures soared to 29 degrees in the capital, the star opted to wear her long blonde hair down in subtle waves. The star credits her slim physique with having a balanced diet and a varied exercise routine which includes yoga and running. Amanda has also praised the benefits of getting enough water, previously telling the MailOnline: 'It's good for my body and soul'. But while Amanda is clearly proud of her incredible body, she stressed that she does not restrict her diet and enjoys treats in moderation. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The presenter was all smiles in the outfit, which she accessorised with a large pair of sunglasses and silver Christian Louboutin heels The star's leggy display comes after she sent temperatures soaring as she showed off her jaw-dropping figure in a pink bikini while filming a new campaign in Mallorca earlier this month. The radio host shared the new racy clip on her Instagram page - informing fans she was on the sunny Spanish island for work purposes. In the stunning video, the Britain's Got Talent judge radiated confidence while strutting her stuff by a pool in the skimpy pink two-piece, adding strappy open-toe heels to complete the revealing look. Her fellow celeb pals raced to comment below the stunning clip, with Ruth Langsford sharing a slew of heart emojis. Vicky Pattison raved: 'AMANDA!!!!' Amanda was in Mallorca to film a new ad for UK brand Revive Collagen, founded by TOWIE star Samantha Faiers. However, it would come as no surprise if Amanda was naked as the star is no stranger to flashing the flesh in the studios. In April 2024, she stripped naked during the Heart Breakfast Show. Her fellow celeb pals raced to comment below the stunning clip, with Ruth Langsford sharing a slew of heart emojis The confident star put every inch of herself on display as she removed her clothes for a life drawing session, that saw artists, as well as her radio co-hosts Jamie and Ashley Roberts have a go at drawing her. As Amanda dropped her trousers on camera, Jamie explained: 'Slightly distracting... Amanda's in the corner of the studio without any clothes on - which is a first not for her of course - but the rest of us.' Ashley interjected: 'She looks amazing!' As Amanda was presented with the images of herself nude, she seemed delighted with the outcomes. Yet Jamie was quick to put an end to the bizarre segment as he called out 'can you put a top on because it's slightly distracting?!'
