Shade or wisdom? Aliza Sultan's advice on remarrying stirs online buzz

Express Tribune2 days ago
Aliza Sultan, influencer and former wife of actor Feroze Khan, continues to draw attention, not for drama, but for her grace and grounded perspective following a public and painful divorce.
Married from 2018 to 2022, Sultan and Khan's marriage ended in a flurry of headlines, with Sultan releasing photographic evidence of alleged physical abuse and accusing Khan of infidelity. The fallout was messy, emotional, and very public.
In her statement she wrote, 'Our marriage of four years was utter chaos. In addition to a continuous physical and psychological violence during this period, I had to endure infidelity, blackmail and degradation at my husband's hands. After careful consideration, I have reached the sad conclusion that I cannot spend my whole life in this horrific manner."
But in recent months, Sultan has been carving out her own space online, sharing life updates and interacting with her 575,000 Instagram followers.
During a recent Q&A session on her Instagram Stories, one follower asked her for advice on remarriage. Her response was both pointed and powerful:
'Take 100 years to think before marrying the wrong one. They'll make you regret your decision every single day.'
It didn't take long for the internet to do its thing. Given her history, many speculated whether the comment was a veiled jab at her ex-husband. Still, countless others praised her for her maturity and honesty.
'More power to you ❤️' one user commented, while others chimed in with messages like 'Absolutely right' and 'Agreed.'
Earlier this year, in January, Sultan once again addressed the challenges of life after divorce. When asked about raising children as a single mother, she didn't mince words.
'Being a single mom with two kids is never an easy job. Plus, when you don't have a responsible and graceful co-parent, it gets harder. Every passing day comes with obstacles.'
She also saluted working mothers, calling them 'heroes' for raising children while their partners are away earning a living.

Courtney Stodden breaks down in tears, sharing emotional update on third day of her sobriety journey

Courtney Stodden recently opened up emotionally about her ongoing struggle with sobriety and the painful memories tied to her past, including her marriage to much-older actor Doug Hutchison. In a raw video shared on Thursday, the 30-year-old reality TV star, makeup-free and visibly emotional, revealed she is on day three of her journey to give up alcohol. Along with physical changes such as breakouts on her face and chest, Stodden said difficult memories from her past are resurfacing, particularly those involving Hutchison, whom she described as her former 'groomer.' Stodden, a Washington native, shared that Hutchison, 65 at the time of their marriage, consumed large amounts of alcohol daily and pressured her to drink as a way to exert control over her. Determined not to feel "out of control" anymore, Stodden is committed to sobriety despite the challenges. She acknowledged that some friends are uncomfortable with her healthier lifestyle, but remains firm in her decision. 'If people don't get it, then maybe they shouldn't be around,' she said. Earlier this week, Stodden told she is 'very happy' with her decision to stop drinking and emphasized how it has improved her mental health. She explained that alcohol was initially an escape from the pressures of fame and trauma, but eventually became a trap that increased her feelings of shame and confusion. 'This breakup isn't just with a substance—it's with a version of myself I'm ready to leave behind,' she said. Stodden described alcohol as 'total toxic ex energy' and expressed her commitment to cutting ties with it for good. Stodden's announcement on Instagram on Tuesday was met with support, including from Hugh Hefner's ex-girlfriend Crystal Hefner and former talk show host Ricki Lake. The model also reflected on her turbulent teenage marriage to Hutchison, whom she married at 16 when he was 51. She called the marriage emotionally abusive and vowed to use her voice to empower other survivors. 'I am living life on my own terms now,' Stodden said, highlighting her strength and resilience as she continues her healing journey. Over the years, Stodden has appeared on reality shows like Couples Therapy, Celebrity Big Brother, and Hollywood Hillbillies, sharing parts of her life with the public.

Jennifer Love Hewitt shares her side after Sarah Michelle Gellar's IKWYDLS premiere feud comments

Jennifer Love Hewitt has addressed long-standing rumors of a feud with her I Know What You Did Last Summer co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar, revealing that the two actresses haven't spoken in decades. In a recent interview with Vulture published on July 18, Hewitt said she and Gellar have not kept in touch since the release of the original 1997 slasher film. 'I haven't seen Sarah,' Hewitt shared. 'Literally, we've not talked since I saw her at 18 years old when the first movie came out.' The 46-year-old actress explained that she has no ill feelings toward Gellar and doesn't understand where speculation about a feud originated. 'I honestly don't even know what that was or how that all came to be,' she said. 'I just think people don't want the narrative to be easy. Why do we always have to be against each other and out for each other?' The interview was conducted prior to the Los Angeles premiere of the new I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel on July 14, which both actresses attended. Despite being at the same event, they did not cross paths. Gellar later addressed their lack of interaction in an Instagram comment, explaining that she missed the red carpet because she was inside with her children and didn't attend the after-party where Hewitt was also absent. 'I never got to see @jenniferlovehewitt who is fantastic in the movie,' Gellar wrote. 'Unfortunately some things happen only in real life and not online.' Gellar and Hewitt starred in the original film alongside Freddie Prinze Jr., Ryan Phillippe, and Johnny Galecki. While Gellar's character was killed off in the original, she has remained involved with the franchise due to her connection to director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and her marriage to Prinze.

Investigation called off on Kneecap's Glastonbury performance, no Police action

Irish rap group Kneecap will not face any legal action over their controversial Glastonbury Festival performance, as Avon and Somerset Police announced they are dropping their criminal investigation into the matter. The police investigation was prompted after the trio's rightfully politically charged set in June, during which they led the crowd in chants including 'f-ck Keir Starmer' and 'free Palestine.' The performance, which authorities found contraversial took place on the West Holts stage, drew significant attention. The set, described as the biggest of Kneecap's career, attracted a packed crowd nearly an hour before the performance began. However, due to the politically sensitive nature of their chants, the BBC chose not to broadcast the performance live, which only intensified the debate surrounding the group. Following a month-long inquiry, Avon and Somerset Police stated on Friday that they would not pursue charges against Kneecap, citing 'insufficient evidence to provide a realistic prospect of conviction for any offense.' The investigation, launched after the festival, involved a senior detective reviewing footage from the performance to determine whether any of the remarks made during the set violated the law. The decision not to charge the group came after consultations with the Crown Prosecution Service, according to BBC News. Kneecap responded to the news by posting a redacted version of the email they received from the police on their Instagram, expressing frustration over the political nature of the investigation. In a statement, they described the probe as an attempt at 'political policing intimidation' and criticized the lack of a public apology after the case was closed. 'We will continue to fight. We will continue to win,' the group added.
