Knots Landing star Lar Park Lincoln dead at 63: Soap actress also featured in iconic horror franchise
Knots Landing star Lar Park Lincoln, who featured unforgettably as the scheming femme fatale Linda Fairgate, has died aged 63.
Shortly after she began appearing on the soap opera in 1987, Lincoln also joined one of the most beloved horror franchises in the genre.
She acted in the 1988 film Friday The 13th Part VII: The New Blood, playing a telekinetic woman who faces off against the villainous Jason Voorhees.
Over her decades-long career, she also guest-starred on iconic TV shows like Murder, She Wrote, and for years was a fixture on the home shopping channel QVC.
Although she has battled breast cancer in the past, at one point undergoing 17 surgeries in the space of five years, her cause of death remains undisclosed.
Her passing was announced Thursday by the Actors Audition Studios, a company she founded in her hometown of Dallas, Texas.
In a post on Facebook breaking the news, the firm noted that her 'family requests privacy' and added: 'In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The SAG-AFTRA Foundation or The Entertainment Community Fund.'
Born Laurie Jill Park to a military family in Dallas, she decided by the third grade that she wanted to act, she told the website Icon Vs. Icon.
She got her start as a model but 'always had my eye on acting,' featuring in commercials and taking classes to hone her skills in her dream profession.
Her big break came with the 1985 TV movie Children Of The Night, a movie about the founder of the real-life Los Angeles organization of the same name, which is dedicated to rescuing underage prostitutes and helping them restart their lives.
'I was playing a real girl's life story. She was a young teenage prostitute,' Lincoln recalled. 'That's where I had to learn, and what has guided me since the very beginning in 1985, that you can't be an artist if you are judging.'
She then landed her fan favorite role on Knots Landing as Linda Fairgate, the scenery-chewing blonde bombshell, whom she played off and on from 1987 to 1991.
Linda starts off married to Eric Fairgate (Steve Shaw), whom she leaves for his brother Michael Fairgate (Patrick Petersen), only to get board of him and stray with a string of men including her boss Greg Sumner (William Devane).
Eventually, the character's machinations catch up to her, and she is murdered by the man with whom she has her last explosive affair, Brian Johnston (Philip Brown).
'I would guess Linda was popular because she was so rotten and so fun at the same time,' she told a fan website for the show a few years ago. 'I studied a few people to become Linda, as she went from the brown hair to the blonde meanie.'
Lincoln remembered when the show's creator David Jacobs informed her she would be going blonde for the character, telling her: 'I'm doing this because you look so sweet and everyone will be shocked how you turn out.'
After her character was killed off in 1991, she continued to act on TV, guesting on such legendary series as Beverly Hills, 90210 and Murder, She Wrote.
She also worked extensively as an acting coach, founding the Actors Audition Studios in Dallas as a way for her to nurture budding talent.
'I always loved coaching actors, even when I was a young actor,' she reflected. 'I always just felt I could see things from the outside, although directing isn't something that I'm interested in. A lot of people ask me that and it's not.'
In 2008 she took her educational pursuits to another level by publishing the book Get Started Not Scammed, offering advice to people starting out in showbiz.
Lincoln continued acting into her last years and has shot multiple movies that have still yet to be released, including the action films Young Bolsheviks and Bad B****.
She was predeceased by her husband Michael Lincoln, whom she was married to for 14 years before he succumbed to cancer in 2015 at the age of just 43.
Lincoln is survived by several family members including her children Piper and Trevor, her siblings Karen and Michael and her grandchildren Audra, Benjamin, Jack and Mia.

Police investigating the senseless murder of King of The Hill Jonathan Joss have apologized for a previous statement denying his killing was a hate crime. Joss, 59, died in San Antonio, Texas, on Sunday after a reported altercation with his neighbor Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja outside his home. Ceja was captured by law enforcement and has been booked on suspicion of murder. He was released on $200k bail this week. Joss' husband Tristan Kern de Gonzales claimed the shooting that claimed his spouse's life was carried out as part of a homophobia hate-fueled attack - although the San Antonio Police Department later issued a statement dismissing this theory. In a press conference Thursday, San Antonio Police Department Chief William McManus walked back the statement and said it had been issued 'way too prematurely.' He said: 'We shouldn't have done that, it was way too early to make a statement of that nature, we didn't have information to make that statement. 'We understand the LGBTQ+ community are feeling anxious and concerned, a lot of it has to do with that stayement, we're sorry.' 'The loss of Jonathan Joss was tragic and felt by the LGBTQ+ community, there's also a concern around circurmstances surrounding that death and the history leading up to that.' The previous statement from a San Antonio PD spokesman had read: 'Despite online claims of this being a hate crime, currently the investigation has found no evidence to indicate that Mr. Joss's murder was related to his sexual orientation.' New details about the run-up to the violent crime recently emerged via a police report, with a unnamed witness stating they drove Joss from Austin to his burned down San Antonio home around 7pm on June 1 to check his mail. The witness said she pulled up and parked in the driveway while she waited for Joss and another witness to check the mail. Joss' husband Gonzales has claimed he was with the actor on this trip and during the murder. Per the report, she said she saw suspect Ceja pull up in his vehicle with a passenger and stop 'directly behind her car.' She allegedly saw Joss and Ceja argue in her rear view mirror, and claimed Ceja told Joss 'he had a gun and would shoot [Joss].' She claims Ceja then shot Joss. Per the report, Joss was pronounced dead at the scene at 7.20pm and Ceja was detained by police and 'immediately told them "I shot him". His weapons were seized. The report states that '[Ceja] intentionally and knowingly discharged a weapon at [Joss] resulting in his death Joss' husband has since claimed the star's death was a homophobia-fueled murder - although in a new twist, police have dismissed this theory. A statement from a San Antonio PD spokesman read: 'Despite online claims of this being a hate crime, currently the investigation has found no evidence to indicate that Mr. Joss's murder was related to his sexual orientation.' Last Saturday, Joss — who boasts 9K social media followers — shared a video of himself in good spirits, urging fans to visit him at Tribe Comics and Games in Austin, TX for a signing.

This is the horrifying moment a rapper threatened his murder victim on YouTube before brutally knifing him in front of his young son. Renai Belle, 30, boasted of his 'gangster lifestyle' before stabbing father-of-two Josh McKay, 33 to death in a barbers on July 6, 2024. Belle, who posted online under his nickname Topz had written a rap song the previous year threatening to attack Mr McKay. In his video posted to YouTube, he rapped: 'How many times I put my flicky in man's head?' and 'I pray every day that I buck JMK,' referring to Josh McKay. Police tried to save Mr McKay but were unsuccessful and Belle was convicted of murder. A year prior to the fatal stabbing, Belle posted a song on YoutTube where he directly threatened Mr McKay. In the song, Belle bragged about his gangster lifestyle and his intention to hurt the father-of-two. In the three-minute song, the rap included the lines: 'How many times I put my flicky in man's head?' which Louis Mably, KC, prosecuting told the Old Bailey is a reference to stabbing someone in the head with a flick knife. He crept into Hollywood Cuts in Leyton wearing a balaclava before stabbing Mr McKay in the neck while he and his barber discussed holiday plans. The violent attacker was helped by his teaching assistant girlfriend Tenika Parker, 39, and 22-year-old Daniel Cooper, the Old Bailey heard. Following the gruesome stabbing police descended on the barbershop and tried to save the father-of-two using a scarf to stem the bleeding from the wound but he was unresponsive. The officers began CPR and carried on trying to revive the man until paramedics arrived but there was no pulse. Barber Wray Esson, who was cutting Mr McKay's hair said the pair were 'talking about holiday plans, when all of a sudden he saw a man wearing a balaclava creeping through the door,' (Belle pictured walking to the barbershop in a balaclava) After the fatal stabbing, Mr McKay grabbed the blade and 'went for the attacker' chasing him out of the shop and CCTV caught the moment Belle fled the scene (pictured) Specialist medics including a doctor even performed an emergency operation on the side of the road, but nothing could be done to revive Mr McKay and he was pronounced dead at 3.53pm. Mr Mably said: 'The colour had drained from his face, his eyes were wide open, and he was not breathing.' The prosecutor told the court it appeared Belle 'had an existing, violent hostility towards Mr McKay.' There were no cameras inside the shop but CCTV footage outside showed Mr McKay and his son arriving in their car 30 minutes before the attack. 'Footage also showed that at that time, Mr Belle was also in the very same area. He was in a car, and then on foot, in the same area of Lea Bridge Road, at the same time, going right past the barber's,' the prosecutor said. The attack was carried out 25 minutes later. 'What happened in those 25 minutes? Because he didn't go straight in,' the prosecutor said. 'What happened is that straightaway, and very quickly, he saw the opportunity, and made preparations for the attack to make sure he could carry it out before Mr McKay had finished having his hair cut. 'What he did was to go off and get the knife, and the balaclava, before coming back and creeping into the shop.' Barber Wray Esson, who was cutting Mr McKay's hair said the pair were 'talking about holiday plans, when all of a sudden he saw a man wearing a balaclava creeping through the door,' said Mr Mably. 'He thought it was a joke at first, but then saw the man had a large kitchen knife in his hand. 'The man approached Mr McKay, and just as Mr McKay swivelled round on the chair to see what was going on, the man plunged the knife into his neck, and then pulled the knife out. 'Mr McKay stood up. The man went to stab him again but Mr McKay put his arms up to defend himself. 'There was a scuffle and the knife fell to the ground.' Mr McKay grabbed the blade and 'went for the attacker' chasing him out of the shop. Passer-by Debbie Osu saw a man wearing dark clothes with a hood up 'creeping towards the shop' carrying something close to his leg. Moments later Mr McKay came out holding the knife after disarming the attacker, the court heard. Ms Osu heard Mr McKay say: 'I can't believe he caught me.' The prosecutor said the witness saw Mr McKay's distraught son outside saying 'that's my dad.' Parker and Cooper helped Belle carry out the attack, it was said. 'Tanika Parker was obviously a close friend and associate of Mr Belle - it seems they were in fact in a relationship,' the prosecutor said. Parker drove Belle drove to Lea Bridge Road in her SsangYong Turismo, the court heard. The prosecutor said telephone records show Belle had been in touch with Cooper that day asking him 'to provide him with the knife and balaclava'. CCTV footage showed that Belle and Parker attended Cooper's address to collects balaclava and knife, the court heard. Parker was arrested on the night of 7 July while Belle was arrested the next day. He made no comment in police interviews. Parker gave a written statement, in which he said she was in a relationship with Belle, but denied knowing that he was going to carry out an attack. Parker was initially arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and Cooper was arrested after handing himself in to police She was stopped by police while driving the car that had been identified as involved in the murder and after a search of the vehicle, officers found distinct black sliders Belle was seen wearing in CCTV footage, as well as traces of blood that officers sent for forensic testing. Parker was rearrested on Wednesday, 2 October, and charged with perverting the course of justice after CCTV footage showed her attempting to clean her car after the attack to remove any evidence. Belle, of Edmonton, denied but was convicted of murder. Parker and Cooper, both of Walthamstow, denied murder and were cleared by the jury. Parker was cleared of murder by the jury along with Cooper. Cooper had admitted possessing a bladed article, while Parker denied but was convicted of that offence. Parker denied but was unanimously convicted of perverting the course of justice by cleaning her SsangYong Turismo SUV after the attack. Belle and Parker will return for sentence at the Old Bailey on 30 July. Cooper will be sentenced separately on Friday. Detective Inspector Chris Griffith, from Specialist Crime North, who led the investigation, said: 'This was a savage and pre-planned attack, committed in broad daylight and with scant regard for passers-by. What took place left the local community reeling, and two young children without their father. 'My heart goes out to Josh's family and friends. He was a loving parent, whose life was ended in the most horrendous way. 'I hope that today's result provides Josh's family with some closure, and allows the community to feel safer knowing that Belle is no longer free to commit such heinous crimes.'

‘King of the Hill' actor Jonathan Joss' alleged killer set free after posting $200,000 bail
The suspect accused of fatally gunning down Jonathan Joss, an actor best known for TV roles on King of the Hill and Parks and Recreation, is out of jail after posting $200,000 bond and will await trial at home – less than 75 yards from the scene of the crime. Police arrested Ceja, 56, on first-degree murder charges shortly after Joss was shot dead Sunday evening in front of his San Antonio home. He made bail on Monday, and was released Tuesday afternoon, court records show. He is now under full house arrest, with a slew of conditions that include GPS monitoring, random drug and alcohol testing, and a ban on firearms possession. Attorney Alfonso Otero, Ceja's court-appointed lawyer, did not respond to a request for comment. Although police say they have 'no evidence' the killing was a hate crime, Joss' husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, said that Ceja, who lives two doors down from the couple, directed homophobic slurs at the two as the 59-year-old Joss lay dying. 'Everything was really close range. It was in the head,' Kern de Gonzales told The Independent. 'I held his face together while I told him how much I loved him. He could still hear me, he looked up at me and he wasn't able to talk because of the extent [of his injuries], but I could tell he was trying to say, 'I love you.'' At the same time, Ceja, who had reportedly been engaged in a long-running feud with Joss, laughed coldly and sneered, 'Oh, you love him? Joto,'' according to Kern de Gonzales, a South Carolina native. ' 'Joto' is Spanish for f****t,' he said. 'I never knew the word until I came to Texas, and then I heard it a lot. The deadly clash occurred after Joss and Kern de Gonzales showed up at their home, which burned down in January, to collect their mail. The two had been living in Austin, about 90 miles away, following the blaze, according to Kern de Gonzalez, who said he is certain the blaze was arson. Authorities, on the other hand, have said the cause remains undetermined. Joss clashed frequently with others on the block, who Kern de Gonzales claimed had subjected the pair to ongoing anti-LGBT+ harassment over the past two years. One neighbor shared a video with local CBS affiliate KENS, purportedly showing Joss walking back and forth with a pitchfork, screaming. However, while Joss may have at times annoyed his neighbors by ' ranting and raving ' in public, Kern de Gonzales said his spouse battled mental illness and insisted he was never violent. 'I don't care if me and my husband were walking around with one pitchfork in our hand and another pitchfork up our a**, we didn't point any weapons at anybody,' Kern de Gonzales told The Independent. 'When the man rolled up with the gun, we were checking the mail.' A police log shared with The Independent by the San Antonio PD lists more than 50 calls between January 26, 2024 and February 9, 2025 to the house Joss and Kern de Gonzales shared. Officers showed up at the address in response to disturbance reports, to conduct mental health and welfare checks, complaints of theft and criminal mischief, and one incident last year allegedly involving a knife. (Further details were not immediately available on the episode, or exactly who was involved.) The final entry is for a shooting in progress at 7:02 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, the incident that ended Joss' life. Kern de Gonzalez said finds it 'really sad how people treat other people when they're having a mental health crisis or going through trauma,' and that no one wants to consider what led to that point. 'It's OK to be a little sad, but if you're in a state where you're yelling or whatever, that doesn't get the same grace,' Kern de Gonzales said. Ceja is due back in court on August 19.
