On repeated visits he stuffed a holdall with pricey perfumes, aftershaves and hair products.
And it is feared he may have looted other stores nearby in Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow.
A source explained: 'The guy was pretending to be an engineer and gained access several times, filling a holdall on each occasion.
'So far he has stolen expensive hairdryers, straighteners, perfume and aftershave.
'He has gone in disguised and got access to shops. Other ones have also been targeted but Boots has been the main victim.
"It is feared the total could be over £100,000.'
Boots bosses have confirmed they're in the process of informing cops about the thefts, which are thought to have taken place over May and June.
A spokesperson added: 'We can't comment further as it is now a police matter.'
Earlier this year force chiefs revealed they'd set up a unit to clamp down on shoplifting backed by £3million from the Scottish Government.
The 'harassment and intimidation' of store staff was also slammed at the Retail Crime Taskforce's launch in March.

Assistant Chief Constable Tim Mairs said: 'There is no justification for retail crime and the theft of goods from stores, or the harassment and intimidation of employees is certainly not victimless.
'When such offences take place, it can have a significant impact on retail workers, who then feel unsafe at their place of work. This is not acceptable.
'The establishment of the Retail Crime Taskforce demonstrates our commitment to working alongside key partners and the retail sector to both prevent retail crime occurring, but to conduct thorough and professional enforcement activity to identify those responsible whenever it does arise.'
Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.

Baby shower explodes into punch-up between boozed-up Scots mums after heated game of ‘Would Mummy Rather'

The nasty altercation broke out after light-hearted games like 'Baby Bingo' and 'Would Mummy Rather' turned sour BUST UP Baby shower explodes into punch-up between boozed-up Scots mums after heated game of 'Would Mummy Rather' A THUG mum was today ordered to pay £500 in compo to her victim after she ripped out a clump of her hair in a baby shower bust-up. The pre-birth celebrations for mum-to-be Chantelle Wilson and her partner, Ben Ritchie, spiralled into chaos when a fight broke out between their mothers on May 18 last year. 2 Sarah Wilson and daughter Chardonnay Credit: Facebook 2 Chantelle Wilson was celebrating the imminent arrival of her new baby Credit: Facebook Chantelle's mum, Sarah Wilson, 45, appeared in the dock today at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing after she pleaded guilty to assaulting Pamela Ritchie. The nasty altercation broke out after light-hearted games like 'Baby Bingo' and 'Would Mummy Rather' turned sour when offensive comments were fired back and forth across the hall at Lochore Miners' Welfare Institute, Lochleven Road, Lochore. Wilson, of Kirkcaldy, admitted to seizing Pamela Ritchie by the hair, leaving her with a bald patch. Her daughter Chardonnay, 20, was also previously found guilty of assaulting the 61-year-old grandmother of the dad's family by attempting to seize her essential nasogastric feeding tube. The trial heard there was growing hostility between the relatives of the happy couple throughout what should have been a fun family get-together. Chardonnay told the court that during a game of 'Would Mummy Rather' someone from the dad-to-be's family shouted out that the new mum would rather open a bottle of wine than put a bottle on for the baby and that "everything started to escalate from there". Sarah Wilson's solicitor Stephen Morrison said: "She absolutely regrets the incident and she hadn't been drinking that day. "She continues to have a relationship with her daughter's partner but not with the rest of his family." Sheriff Susan Duff ordered £500 compensation to be paid to the victim, and added she was unimpressed by Wilson's reaction in the dock. She told Mr Morrison that Wilson would have to return to court to make sure the money had been paid, adding: 'Your client's face said an awful lot about what she thought of the sentence.' Pregnant mom-of-four 'shot dead at her baby shower while breaking up fight' is pictured as pals blast 'senseless' death Wilson will be back in court on November 5.
