I tried passionfruit martinis from Aldi, M&S, Tesco and more
But, as with most things, the flavour can differ slightly when made by different brands and as you go from bar to bar.
I decided to try a variety of passionfruit martinis from supermarkets, including a branded version, to see which is the best to have at home – here's what I thought.
All prices are correct at the time of writing but may change.
Aldi's Passion Fruit Martini is packaged in an eye-catching bottle (Image: Newsquest) The bottle of Passion Fruit Martini (£7.49) from Aldi is very vibrant and is enough to catch your eye on the shelf.
This particular cocktail had a very strong passionfruit smell to it, and I instantly knew it smelled how I'd expect when ordering one at a cocktail bar.
It was very strong in flavour, and I would've preferred it to be a bit weaker, as it was overpowering. Next time, I might try adding some lemonade to it to weaken it.
Having said that, it did taste how it should, it was just a bit too strong for me.
Rating: 5/10
The Passion Star Martini Cocktail (£6) from M&S has a more classic-looking bottle design, making it ideal to give as a gift or to take over to a friend's house.
M&S' version tasted weaker but smelled sweeter than the Aldi version (Image: Newsquest) This cocktail smelled sweeter than the Aldi version and I was surprised to see how clear the liquid was, a contrast to the deeper orange of the rest I tried.
It tasted weaker so the passionfruit taste didn't come through as strong but it had a light fizz which I enjoyed and reminded me of the prosecco shot that's usually served alongside the cocktail in a bar.
It's unfamiliar taste at the end put me off a little so I've scored it slightly less than Aldi.
Rating: 4/10
Morrisons has a new cocktail range, which includes their take on a Passion Fruit Martini. Other bottles include Cosmo and Bliss on the Beach (£6 each or two for £10).
These bottles are really striking and add a nice touch, ideal if you're gifting it to someone or offering it to loved ones when hosting.
Morrisons' version of the Passion Fruit Martini was my favourite from the few I tried as it had just the right amount of flavour and wasn't overpowering.
The Passion Fruit Martini from Morrisons was my favourite (Image: Newsquest) It smelled a bit like the Aldi and M&S versions combined so was a medium strength of smell and not off-putting.
This one also had a light fizz which was a nice addition.
Rating: 9/10

I was disappointed to see that Tesco didn't seem to offer its own version of the cocktail so opted for a branded option instead – Funkin Cocktails (£7.50 on Clubcard offer, £9.75 otherwise).
Since it was a brand that I often spot in supermarkets, I expected it to be the real deal but it wasn't my favourite.
Funkin Cocktails' version got a good rating but it wasn't quite as good as Morrisons'. (Image: Newsquest) It did score highly, though, as it tasted quite subtle and had a sweet aftertaste. The 'bartender edition' label being printed on the bottle got my hopes up, so I'm glad it lived up to my expectations.
I was a bit surprised at the odd smell of it, but it tasted nice, so I guess that's all that matters!
Rating: 7/10
Overall, this taste test has made me realise just how ideal pre-mixed cocktails are.
You don't need to break the bank to enjoy a great cocktail at home, and they add a nice extra touch to a family BBQ or gathering.
Happy sipping! ( and please drink responsibly).

M&S shoppers race to buy £35 ‘slimming' butter yellow summer dress that ‘hides lumps and bumps' and ‘doesn't crease'
MARKS & SPENCER is finally back in action, and fashion fans have been rushing to pick up the retailer's new £35 summer dress. The textured midi dress (which comes in the colour of the season) has been praised by shoppers for its flattering fit that "hides lumps and bumps". M&S Textured V-Neck Midi Column Dress, £35 Featuring a fitted silhouette with breathable textured material and airy short sleeves, the butter yellow number is perfect for summer. The M&S V-Neck Column Dress is finished with a knot design at the front, giving a stylish twist on a staple piece. It comes in butter yellow and black colourways, with regular, petite and tall sizes available — although several sizes have already sold out. The wearable style could be dressed up or down for most occasions, and it would look great teamed with sandals and sunglasses for a comfortable holiday outfit. As the textured design gives a dressy feel, it would also pair well with heels and chunky gold jewellery for a summer evening look. The high-street dress has received rave reviews from Marks & Spencer shoppers, with a 4.6-out-of-5 star rating. One customer wrote: "Excellent dress that skims the body to create a slimming effect. The textured material is good quality and it washes well, no ironing required as it always looks as good as new. It's true to size as well, more colours and styles please." Another added: "I purchased the yellow colour in store, and liked it that much that I ordered the black when it came back in stock as it's so flattering. M&S Textured V-Neck Midi Column Dress, £35 It's so curve enhancing and it's not too short, plus no lumps and bumps are shown. The material is thin but soft, and it isn't see through. It's so great for summer." Marks & Spencer gave an update earlier on its cyber attack this week, confirming that the retailer is accepting orders again for the first time since the attack in April. Shoppers are now able to order online again, but the retailer has warned that deliveries may take up to 10 days. If you don't know where to begin with your online order, Fashion Editor Abby McHale has handpicked the M&S pieces worth adding to your basket before they sell out. M&S' £35 midi dress isn't the only butter yellow piece causing a stir, as Sainsbury's shoppers have been racing to pick up a similar version from the supermarket. The £28 summer dress has been praised for hiding mum tum, with its relaxed cut and flattering puffed sleeves. It also has a stylish gingham print that's perfect for summer.

Tesco has announced exciting news for F&F shoppers this week... Tesco fans, get excited– the summer 25% off F&F clothing sale has just landed in stores and it's a great chance to bag some serious bargains. Whether you're freshening up your summer wardrobe or after a couple of smart pieces for work, it's definitely time to plan that trolley dash. Taking place now until Sunday 15th, you still have plenty of time to make the most of the big savings. The discount covers all F&F adult fashion. The only things not included are shoes, accessories and slippers. Everything else? Fair game for anyone with a Tesco Clubcard. We're talking dresses, jeans, loungewear, activewear and loads more. Just a heads-up, though, with deals this good, sizes do go quickly. So if there's something you've had your eye on, don't leave it too late! Also, in huge news for the supermarket, for the very first time, you can shop the 25% off sale online as well as in-store. Up until last month, F&F clothing has only been available in select Tesco stores. And for the spring F&F sale that took place the other month, Clubcard users had to go in-store to pick up their favourite items at a discount. Now, you can shop a broad range of F&F clothing online AND get the sale event savings. So, what's a fashion editor shopping from the new-in F&F section? Though stock is dwindling fast, there's still plenty of gems to be found in the sale. We love F&F's Short Sleeve Contrast Detail Cardigan in Cream, now £14 (down from £22.50), which has a very Chanel-like look to it thanks to the cream colour and the black contrast trim. It's also ideal for this in-between weather we're seeing, and makes a great workwear choice. If cosiness is on your agenda, why not make your home relax-wear look a little more chic? The Cotton Rich Leopard Print Wide Leg Joggers, now £10 (down from £19.50), look like something you could wear out without raised eyebrows. They're comfy, casual and in a trending leopard print design. Another piece ideal for both warm days and colder mornings is the Pure Cotton Crochet Tie Front Cardigan in Cream, now £16 (was £25). Made from pure cotton, this long-sleeved cardigan is designed with a pretty tie front and intricate crochet pattern. Featuring a scalloped hem, it can be layered over a simple vest or your bikini top, if you're somewhere tropical. And speaking of tropical, the Striped Long Sleeve Beach Shirt in Navy, now £10 (was £16), is our ultimate pick for a holiday. It's perfect for wearing over a swimsuit to the beach, or wearing alone paired with some chic linen trousers for a dinner. All you're missing is some statement gold seashell earrings to make this a full look. Elsewhere in supermarket news, Mamma Mia! movie fans may want to take a trip to Sainsbury's, where the new summer collection blends Grecian tones with floaty silhouettes. With star pieces from £5, like the Blue Textured Plunge Swimsuit, £16, and Floral Linen Look Co-ord Shorts, £18, it's the perfect collection to help you prepare for a summer holiday.
