Rideshare driver arrested after alleged sexual assaults in York

A rideshare driver has been charged after two people were sexually assaulted earlier this week, Toronto police said. The incident happened Monday near Weston Road and Eglinton Avenue W. after two female victims ordered a rideshare, police said in a news release Saturday. When they arrived at their destination, they got out of the vehicle, and the rideshare driver followed them into a nearby lobby. The driver allegedly sexually assaulted both victims and left the area in his vehicle, a purple Toyota Rav 4, police said. A 30-year-old man from Toronto was arrested and charged on Wednesday with two counts of sexual assault. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
