Stacey Solomon came under fire with fans after she took to social media to express her "devastation" after her show Sort Your Life Out didn't scoop up a Bafta Award despite being nominated twice. And now her co-star Dilly Carter has leapt to her defence with a three-word response: "Good for you!"
ITV Loose Women panellist Stacey was left in tears after her BBC home renovation programme was nominated for two two awards, Entertainment Performance and Factual Entertainment, but didn't win either category.
In an emotional update shared with fans after the event Stacey was clearly upset that she and her team had left the ceremony empty handed.
She lost out on Entertainment Performance to Joe Lycett's Late Night Lycett on Channel 4 and also to Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour, BBC Two show.
The TV personality told fans: "We didn't win a Bafta and I know I'm supposed to take it gracefully like a champ but I'll be honest I'm devastated," as she laughed while stating that she was "handling it" very well.
Following her online outburst, the TV star has faced criticism for not taking the loss graciously. On ITV's Lorraine on Tuesday, host Christine Lampard, standing in as Lorraine Kelly recovers at home after surgery, was joined by Dilly for a fashion segment - and she jumped on the opportunity to quiz her about Stacey's Instagram video.
She asked: "What do you think? She was just sort of being real wasn't she?"
Dilly said her response to Stacey's video was "good for you". She told Christine: "She is our fearless leader for a reason that's what we have to remember and I agree with her in certain respects because it's not about us it's about the production"
Dilly continued to defend Stacey for speaking out: "So much goes into that show and that's why we are a bit like 'ohh', you know were just a little bit heartbroken for everyone because everyone works so hard."
She continued: "I think yeah, good for you, absolutely say it how it was. I would have been more like 'oh no don't say anything' but you know she's like that.
"I think she's absolutely right, I support her as always and like I say she's a fearless leader for a reason."
Christine interjected: "It's not to take away from Rob and Rylan obviously because they're still brilliant but you just love your team." Dilly replied: "Of course, everyone in an award show wants their team to do well. Everyone wants to win."
Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV1, from 9am.
