Chargers RB Najee Harris likely to begin training camp on the non-football injury list
Harris is expected to report to The Bolt later today, per Hortiz. He has been receiving treatment from doctors at Stanford. Hortiz added that the Chargers haven't seen the extent of his injury yet.
Harris suffered a superficial eye injury due to a fireworks mishap during a Fourth of July party.
The NFI designation means Harris can return at any point during camp.

Jim Harbaugh Makes Opinion On President Trump Meeting Clear
Jim Harbaugh Makes Opinion On President Trump Meeting Clear originally appeared on The Spun. Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh spoke to the media at training camp this week and had a lot to say about a recent meeting he had with President Trump. Harbaugh was recently a guest of the President and brought along some of his family members, including his wife and daughters, his parents and his brother, Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh. He clearly had a good time. Harbaugh said it was "great" meeting the President and it felt extra special being able to do so with so many family members. He also remarked on how cool it felt to be able to meet seven U.S. Presidents and the late Pope Francis during his lifetime. "That was great," Harbaugh said. "There's a lot of gratitude there to be invited to the White House to meet the president with my family, my mom and dad. President Trump was just great to my mom and dad. That meant so much. My brother John, his daughter Allison, my two daughters, my sister Joanie and niece Ainsley. So there was nine of us and it was great. "I mean, who gets invited to the White House with eight other family members and doesn't go? Nooobody. "There's also another cool factor to me in like I've met seven presidents. There's been (46) and I've met seven of them." "Pope Francis, can't leave him out," Harbaugh added. "Not a president but doesn't get any higher, doesn't get any better than Pope Francis. I think seven presidents, four first ladies, I've caught 22 foul balls in games. Legit… I'm really proud of that." Jim Harbaugh has certainly gotten opportunities that few other people in sports can match. He's one of the rare few football coaches that has been able to coach his alma mater to a national championship and part of an even more exclusive club of coaches to coach both a national title game and a Super Harbaugh Makes Opinion On President Trump Meeting Clear first appeared on The Spun on Jul 17, 2025 This story was originally reported by The Spun on Jul 17, 2025, where it first appeared.

He tore the ACL in his right knee on a punt play in a game for the Cardinals against the Chargers last October. It is the same knee he injured in 2020. Gardeck finished his seventh NFL season with 20 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks and an interception. Gardeck made the Cardinals' roster as an undrafted free agent out of Division II Sioux Falls in 2018. He totaled 156 tackles, 17 sacks, two interceptions, seven pass breakups and three forced fumbles in seven seasons in Arizona.

HBCU picks up championship coach as offensive coordinator
Tennessee State University alumnus Shannon Harris made history this summer. As interim head coach, he led the DC Defenders to a dominant 58–34 victory over the Michigan Panthers in the UFL Championship Game on June 14, 2025, securing the franchise's first UFL title. It was the first time an HBCU graduate coached a professional football team to a championship. Now Harris is listed on the Tennessee State University athletics website as the offensive coordinator and quarterback coach. A former quarterback for TSU in the early 2000s, Harris stepped into the interim head coach role on March 22, 2025. That change followed Reggie Barlow's departure from the Defenders to become TSU's new head coach. Despite the late-season transition, Harris guided the Defenders to a 6–4 regular-season record. He then led the team through the playoffs and claimed the championship. In recognition of his leadership, Harris earned the 2025 UFL Coach of the Year Award, officially named the Buddy Teevens Award. He became the first HBCU alumnus to receive the honor, marking a major milestone in HBCU representation in professional football. Now back at TSU, Harris joins the staff in a key leadership role. His return is a full-circle moment. Along with playing for the Tigers, he has coached at Virginia State, Alcorn State, Alabama State, and Tennessee State. Harris brings championship experience and deep Tiger pride to the program. His presence strengthens TSU's mission to develop an explosive offense. With his leadership, Tennessee State University football looks to rise in the Ohio Valley Conference and beyond.
