It's just the summer, and we've already arrived at golf's final major, the British Open at Royal Portrush, where "Rory fever" is currently at its peak.
The buzz is unmistakable, especially after the Grand Slam winner's impressive finish at the Scottish Open last week. And McIlroy just turned up the heat with yet another headline.
On Tuesday night, the 2014 Open Championship winner stepped into the spotlight to collect his sixth AGW Golfer of the Year award.

The moment was made even more iconic by his choice of attire. McIlroy arrived at the 75th AGW Annual Dinner in the same green jacket he earned at Augusta National, ending an 11-year major drought.
"It's the best day of my golfing life," he said after the Masters win. "I've literally made my dreams come true."
The AGW award, voted on by the Association of Golf Writers, recognized McIlroy's dominant 2024 season.
Last year, he won the DP World Tour Championship, securing his sixth Race to Dubai title and tying Seve Ballesteros for the second-most all-time.
The 35-year-old also took home his fourth Hero Dubai Desert Classic and Wells Fargo Championship titles.
That's not all, though! Last year, Rory and his best friend, Shane Lowry, clutched the Zurich Classic title in New Orleans, something they failed to repeat this season.

This year's AGW annual dinner marks McIlroy's third consecutive AGW win, having earned the honor in 2023 and 2024, matching Padraig Harrington's streak from 2006-2008.
He previously also won in 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2022, surpassing Lee Westwood's tally of five last year.
This year's win was more meaningful for the 29-time PGA Tour winner, not just because of the green jacket he wore, but because his return to his hometown for the last major.
Currently, the professional has seven top-10 finishes this year, including three wins: the Masters, AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Players Championship.
He also became the first player to automatically qualify for Team Europe at the upcoming Ryder Cup, set for September at Bethpage Black.
Rory will begin his Open Championship fight on Thursday at 3:10 p.m. ET, paired alongside Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Thomas
