Jared Goff sends Patrick Mahomes a brutal message as he stokes rivalry before new NFL season
In the latest season of Netflix 's 'Quarterback' series, the Detroit Lions star was asked for his top 10 QBs of all-time and there was no space for the Chiefs star.
In a brief snippet from the show, Goff named Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Joe Montana, John Elway, Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, Eli Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers.
Another notable omission included Baltimore Ravens ' two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson - who many believe has worked his way into the top 10 list.
Notably, Steelers veteran Rodgers was the only active player to have snuck onto Goff's list, as he threw praise upon some of the sport's retired stars.
Goff made sure to reference Brady's seven Super Bowl titles as a reason why the former New England Patriots star was the 'greatest' to ever do it.
He also mentioned that former 49ers star Montana inspired him to wear the number 16 jersey throughout his own career - having grown up in the Bay Area.
The 30-year-old has enjoyed an offseason filled with rest and relaxation, as he looks to bounce back from the Lions' Divisional playoffs defeat to the Commanders.
Meanwhile, earlier in the week, Goff and his wife Christen welcomed their first child together.
The Detroit Lions quarterback and his influencer wife announced the news with an emotional post on Instagram on Tuesday afternoon.
The couple shared a series of black-and-white photos of themselves holding their daughter, who they revealed will be named Romy Isabelle Goff.
There was no caption to the post other than their new daughter's name. The comments were quickly flooded with congratulatory messages for the duo.
The couple revealed to the world that they were expecting a child together back in February, when Christen made a public appearance while visibly pregnant.
Christen and Jared met through the celebrity dating app Raya in 2019, the same place where gymnast Simone Biles met her NFL husband, Chicago Bears defender Jonathan Owens, in 2020.
The Goff's lives drastically changed when he was traded from the Rams to the Lions in 2021, forcing both to leave Los Angeles behind.
The couple was in New Orleans to attend the show at the Saenger Theatre has Jared was nominated for MVP and the NFL Man of the Year.
Goff led the Lions to a 15-2 regular season record before the team was defeated by the Washington Commanders in the Divisional round of the playoffs, ending their season.

July 20 - All-Star left-hander MacKenzie Gore faces his former team for the second time in less than four weeks when the Washington Nationals host the San Diego Padres on Sunday afternoon. The Nationals acquired Gore as part of the impressive haul from the Padres in the Juan Soto trade at the deadline in 2022. He is 1-2 with a 4.35 ERA in 20 2/3 innings over four career starts against San Diego. Gore (4-8, 3.02 ERA this season) will again be pitted against Padres right-hander Nick Pivetta (9-2, 2.88), who was the winning pitcher in San Diego's 1-0 home victory on June 25. INDIANAPOLIS, July 20 (Reuters) - WNBA players wrested the spotlight of the All-Star weekend to get the fans on their side amid intensifying labor talks with the league, as the annual showcase of the sport's top talent celebrated an influx of new fans. Players took the court in Indianapolis wearing shirts that read "Pay Us What You Owe Us," after a meeting to discuss a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) on Thursday that union members said was a missed opportunity. Key issues targeted by players include an increase in revenue sharing, with male counterparts in the NBA now taking home about half of basketball-related revenue, a far greater share. Fixed costs almost certainly take a larger share of the WNBA's revenue, said Andrew Zimbalist, a professor emeritus of economics at Smith College, who said that 50% was nonetheless still "a perfectly feasible target for the women." "The players have every reason to be aggressive here," said Zimbalist, who has consulted in the sports industry for players, teams and leagues. "I wouldn't expect them to reach a 50% target immediately, but to reach it over two or three years seems entirely plausible." Any disruption to the 2026 season stands to dent the tremendous momentum the league now enjoys, with two new clubs set to debut next year in Portland and Toronto.
