Beyonce and Jay-Z to COMPETE against each other for an Emmy after Grammys controversy
The A-list couple - who tied the knot in 2008 - garnered nods for Outstanding Variety Special (Live) as the nominees were officially announced on Tuesday ahead of the 77th Emmy Awards on September 14.
The Crazy In Love songstress, 43, was nominated for her NFL Halftime Show called the Beyonce Bowl which aired on Netflix on Christmas Day.
And the Empire State Of Mind rapper landed a spot in the same category for being an executive producer for Kendrick Lamar 's Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show in February.
It comes one year after Jay-Z called out the Recording Academy over his wife not winning Album of the Year, despite having 'more Grammys than everyone.'
Beyonce also received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special for her Beyonce Bowl.
Her halftime performance aired live on Netflix on Christmas Day as the Houston Texans took on the Baltimore Ravens.
The beauty belted out tunes from her Cowboy Carter album - and at one point was also joined by her eldest child Blue Ivy.
The Beyonce Bowl broke a number of records, and became the most-watched NFL game since 2001.
During her performance alone, 27 million viewers tuned in to watch and 10 days afterwards, it was revealed that an additional 50 million viewers watched the special on the streaming site.
Her halftime show was also released on Netflix as a stand-alone special two days later - which spanned over the course of around 20 minutes.
Jay-Z was also one of the executive producers for the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show which Kendrick Lamar headlined earlier this year in February.
The anticipated match took place in New Orleans and saw the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs.
The halftime show also broke records and became the most-watched with 133.5 million viewers, per Billboard.
The record had been announced by Apple Music, NFL and also Roc Nation only days after the game.
Over on Instagram, the companies issued a statement which read: 'We've broken the record again! The most watched Apple Music Halftime show EVER, with 133.5 Million viewers.'
Beyonce Bowl also received Emmy nominations for Outstanding Production Design and Outstanding Choreography.
Kendrick Lamar's halftime show also garnered nods for Outstanding Directing, Outstanding Music Production and Outstanding Choreography.
Beyonce and Jay-Z competing for the same award comes a little over one year since the rapper called out the Grammys over his wife not winning Album of the Year.
He made the public comment to the crowd as he accepted the 2024 Dr. Dre Global Impact Award.
At one point, the performer expressed: 'I'm just saying we want you to get it right. We love y'all. We want you to get it right, at least get it close to right.
'And obviously it's subjective - you don't have to clap at everything - because it's music and it's opinion-based.'
Jay-Z then added, 'I don't want to embarrass this young lady but she has more Grammys than anyone and never won Album of the Year so even by your own metrics that doesn't work.
'Think about that. The most Grammys, never won Album of the Year. That doesn't work.
'Some of you going to go home tonight and think you've been robbed. Some of you may get robbed, some of you don't belong in the category. When I get nervous, I tell the truth.
He then shared, 'But outside of that, we got to keep showing up - and forget the Grammys for a second, just in life.'
Beyonce had notably been sitting in the audience during her husband's speech and held an apprehensive expression on her face.
However, earlier this year in February during the 2025 Grammy Awards, the songstress finally scored her first Album of the Year win for Cowboy Carter.
The 77th Annual Emmy Awards are to set to take place in Los Angeles on September 14 - with Nick Bargatze taking on hosting duties.
Beyonce has been keeping busy as she is currently embarking on her Cowboy Carter Tour.
The star recently made a major change to her Cowboy Carter tour just weeks after the singer was left hanging midair during a terrifying stunt.
She took to the stage in Atlanta last week on Thursday where she debuted a mechanical gold horse which she rode inside the Mercedes- Benz Stadium.
Up until last month, she had ridden on a red Cadillac convertible which would suspend over the crowd - but the prop began to suddenly tilt amid her June 28 concert in Houston which caused the singer to abruptly stop the show.
However, Beyonce has since made the slight alteration to her tour last week with the flying gold horse.
She notably sits on the prop as it soars through the air while belting out her country track 16 Carriages.
It is not the first time that the songstress has used a horse as a prop while performing on stage.
Back in 2023 during her Renaissance Tour, Beyonce used a sparkling silver horse - which mimicked her Renaissance album cover.
The songstress kicked off her Cowboy Carter Tour earlier this year in April - and is in support of her eighth studio album of the same name which was released in 2024.
She performed two additional dates in Atlanta on Sunday, July 13 and the following Monday on July 14.
The Crazy In Love hitmaker will travel to Las Vegas later this month where the tour will conclude on July 26 at Allegiant Stadium.
It was also reported that Beyonce's unreleased music was stolen during her Cowboy Carter tour stop in Atlanta on July 8.
The incident occurred when a suspect stole a hard drive containing the unleased music from a motor vehicle - and an arrest warrant his since been issued.

UFC legend Dustin Poirier's farewell fight is ruined as he suffers defeat to Max Holloway
Dustin Poirier 's final UFC fight didn't go to plan as he suffered a defeat against Max Holloway. The fight took place in Poirier's hometown of Louisiana but it was Holloway who prevailed by unanimous decision as he won 48-47, 49-46, 49-46. It brought an end to Poirier's hugely impressive UFC career. He won 30 of his 41 MMA fights in total, having turned professional in 2009. Although Poirier had won on the previous two occasions that he faced Holloway, the latter came out on top this time. There was evidently much respect between the pair, with a spectacular fight having been anticipated. Poirier managed to respond well but Holloway was determined to seize control of the fight and he managed to do so. Holloway was hugely impressive in the third and fourth rounds, which severely reduced Poirier's chances of success. After the fight, Poirier admitted that he was overwhelmed with how much support he has received. He told ESPN: 'It's been overwhelming, honestly. I feel appreciated, I feel seen. I've never got to step outside a fight and look at it this way... but this week was unbelievable. I feel loved by the fans, Louisiana and the company. It's been incredible. I didn't know I touched as many people as I did just by chasing my dreams.' An already emotional Poirier was left in tears by a UFC tribute video. He walked out of the Octagon as Frank Sinatra's My Way played.

Cricket commentator Grace Hayden has come to her own defence after being branded a ' nepo baby '. The glamorous sports presenter, who is the daughter of cricket icon Matthew Hayden, hit back at claims she has achieved success thanks to her famous dad, revealing it was actually a lot tougher to make a name for herself in the industry. 'More often than not, you have to work harder to prove to yourself that you actually deserve to be there,' the 23-year-old told The Sunday Telegraph. 'So I love that challenge aspect of the situation that I am so grateful and lucky to be born into, but it's a genuine passion and love that I have for the game, and I couldn't see myself doing anything else now.' She hopes to bridge the gap between the cricketing world and American viewers by showcasing the sport's energy, global appeal and human stories. Her debut guest will be Adam Gilchrist, a fellow Australian cricket great and one of the most iconic wicketkeeper-batsmen in history. As the World Turns star Eileen Fulton dead at 91: Actress played iconic 'bad girl' for half a century
As the World Turns star Eileen Fulton, who acted on the legendary soap opera on and off for half a century, has died at the age of 91. She won the hearts of fans as the scenery-chewing 'bad girl' Lisa Grimaldi, a role she originated in 1960 and played for the final time on the show's last episode in 2010. Fulton has revealed that although Lisa was conceived as a 'sweet girl next door,' she felt the character was insufficiently interesting and so she delivered her lines in a 'conniving' fashion that prompted the writers to change course and make her sinister. Over the decades her character grew from a young 'vixen' - whom Time magazine once branded a 'superb****' - into a gentler grande dame. At one point during the show, Fulton famously had a 'granny clause' installed in her contract that would prevent Lisa from having grandchildren, for fear that she would be written off the show if her character were seen as old and irrelevant. She died July 14 in her hometown of Ashville, North Carolina 'after a period of declining health,' according to an obituary from the local Groce Funeral Home. Although she was born in Asheville in 1933, she had a peripatetic childhood as a result of her father's vocation as a Methodist minister. She had the performing bug from the age of two, when she cut into one of her father's services by singing the old folk song Shortnin' Bread and braved the resultant spanking, she told the Washington Post. Fulton majored in music at Greensboro College and her father got her a job in a church choir, but she was determined to move to New York City, harboring dreams 'of being the greatest actress on Broadway.' After studying under the seminal acting teachers Sanford Meisner and Lee Strasberg, as well as modern dance pioneer Martha Graham, she embarked on a showbiz career that finally took off in 1960 when she was cast on As the World Turns. Over the next 50 years, she repeatedly left the show - 'I've quit forever three times,' she once drily remarked - but always wound up coming back. In the early years of the show, Fulton worked tirelessly to juggle the soap and the New York stage, acting in such shows as The Fantasticks and as a replacement in the original Broadway production of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. But her most enduring role, the one that cemented her position in showbiz history, was as the stylish and ruthlessly conniving Lisa on As the World Turns. She cycled through a dizzying succession of what eventually turned out to be eight husbands, remaining herself a consistently tantalizing presence on the show. Fulton was the one who changed the character from the 'sweet girl' she was originally conceived as into the scenery-chewing villainess she became. Since the show was filmed live, she felt she could not 'change her lines' but she could 'change my intentions once we were on the air,' she told the Television Academy.
