Cruzeiro contact security forces over ‘attacks, threats' towards players after cup exit
Headless mannequins wearing the shirts of Marlon, William and Matheus Pereira — stained in red to resemble blood — were hung days after Cruzeiro's penalty defeat to America MG in the Campeonato Mineiro semi-finals.

Marlon and William missed their penalties in the shootout defeat while former West Bromwich Albion playmaker Pereira, who did not play in the match, has been linked with a move away from the club.
Cruzeiro, who exited the competition after failing to win any of their most recent five matches, called on authorities to investigate the issue.
A club statement on Monday 'called upon security forces to ensure all necessary measures are taken regarding this matter.'
The club added they condemned the 'threats made against America MG goalkeeper Matheus Mendes', who saved the Marlon and William penalties.
'Episodes like these only expose how much we need to evolve as a society,' Cruzeiro's statement added. 'The club understands and accepts the demands and criticism, but hopes they remain within the realm of sports and never turn into attacks, threats, or offenses, regardless of the team or club.'
Cruzeiro, whose most recent Campeonato Mineiro title came in 2019, have seen rivals Atletico Mineiro win each of the most recent five editions of the tournament.
Last year's defeated Copa Sudamericana finalists Cruzeiro begin their 2025 Brazilian Serie A league campaign on March 28 at home to Mirassol.
This incident mirrors that of January 2023 in Madrid, when a mannequin wearing Vinicius Junior's shirt was hung from the neck from a bridge ahead of a between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

Agent Of Marseille & France Midfielder Comments On His Future Amid Inter Milan Links: 'We Will Evaluate Offers From Serie A'
Marseille midfielder Adrien Rabiot could return to Serie A after his representatives offered him to Inter Milan. Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Rabiot's mother-agent Veronique delivered a verdict on her son's future. Despite joining Marseille only last summer, Adrien Rabiot could already be on his way back to Italy. Indeed, the former Juventus star has grown frustrated with life at Stade Velodrome. Following a heated discussion with his teammate, Jonathan Rowe, Rabiot has expressed his desire to leave. Although Roberto De Zerbi sidelined Rowe, the 30-year-old remains keen on severing ties with Marseille. Meanwhile, his entourage has offered his services to Inter. The Nerazzurri refused to sign the Frenchman last summer when his contract at Juventus expired. As it stands, Inter's stance has not changed as they seem unwilling to seize this opportunity. On the other hand, his mother confirms his decision to find a new club. Adrien Rabiot Agent Fuels Exit Speculation Amid Inter Milan Links SALERNO, ITALY – JANUARY 07: Adrien Rabiot of Juventus during the Serie A TIM match between US Salernitana and Juventus at Stadio Arechi on January 07, 2024 in Salerno, Italy. (Photo by) Veronique admitted they will entertain offers from Serie A. However, she left the door open to a potential switch to the Premier League and La Liga. 'From now on, we will only consider serious projects coming from Italy, Spain, and England,' she said. Furthermore, she also dismissed De Zerbi's recent claim that Rabiot had shown unprofessional behavior. 'It came as a shock, because disagreements between players do happen. 'In any case, Italy shouldn't be ruled out, alongside the projects of top clubs in Spain and England,' said the mother-agent. Rabiot has emerged as one of the potential midfield targets for Inter. However, the Italian giants prefer a younger alternative, with Rennes starlet Djaoui Cisse ranking high on their list.

Atalanta Beat Milan and Napoli for Lecce Forward
Atalanta have won the race for Nenad Krstovic, who had been linked to several sides, including Milan and Napoli, throughout the summer. La Dea will shell out €25M plus 10 percent of a future sale, Sky reports. Lecce will record another giant 'plusvalenza' considering they had spent just €3.9M to acquire him from Dunajska Streda. He recorded 20 goals and 7 assists in 75 matches with them. The Giallorossi have lined up Nikola Stulic from Charleroi as a replacement, Tele Rama reports. Atalanta landed Krstovic after multiple attempts for Fulham's Rodrigo Muniz, but their €40M+ offer was insufficient, and pursuing Jean-Philippe Mateta, who's very expensive as well, Alfredo Pedullà informs. The Nerazzurri can count on the return of Gianluca Scamacca but needed another striker following Mateo Retegui's departure. The Montenegrin international was considered a fallback option for Milan and Napoli. The two sides are dueling for Rasmus Hojlund. The Rossoneri are in the lead and are ready to tweak their proposal, offering a loan with an obligation to buy for a total of €40M, to finally convince the Dane, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs. Conversely, the Azzurri have probed Genk's Tolu Arokodare, who's worth around €20/25M. He has scored 27 times and provided 10 assists in 68 Jupiler Pro League games. Our Take on Krstovic Joining Atalanta, Milan, and Napoli The two heavyweights would have easily acquired him if they really wanted him. He has nice grit and shooting skills, but not much upside. The Partenopei need to decide whether Lorenzo Lucca can be the guy for a few months, thus pairing him with a project, or instead bring in someone closer to Romelu Lukaku's caliber. The second route would obviously be a lot more expensive.
