Despite three consecutive England failures from the spot, Lucy Bronze's smashed effort put the pressure on Sweden youngster Smilla Holmberg, who skied her attempt to give the Lionesses the win.

'It all went so quick, we are all so happy and the fans were behind us and knew not to write us off,' Chelsea's Hampton, who saved from Filippa Angeldal and Sofia Jakobsson in the shootout, told the BBC.
'It was stressful watching and playing, I thought every single time when I saved one, 'Please score and give us a cushion'. I feel so happy and relieved.'
On the backing she received from fans during the shootout, she added: 'It helps you get the edge, push on and stretch extra for each save and I appreciated the support.'
After Kosovare Asllani's early strike, Stina Blackstenius doubled Sweden's lead and it looked like England's hopes of retaining their trophy were fading.
Sarina Wiegman's side left it late as Bronze's header in the 79th minute and substitute Michelle Agyemang's tap-in moments later sent the tie into extra-time.
Hampton, who suffered a bloodied nose during the match, added: 'It's fine, me and nose bleeds never go well, so as soon as the doctor looked at my nose bleed I thought, 'Oh no not again'.
THE moment.

One sour note for England was skipper Leah Williamson limping off with a possible ankle injury.
'It wasn't about me and a game like that requires you to be at 100 per cent, but I don't know,' Williamson said about the severity of her injury.
'I feel really proud, it was awful to watch at the end, but I love that we never give up, we're never done, the fightback and to stay in it mentally was incredible.'

Hole-in-one helps John Parry move into contention on day three of The Open
A hole-in-one for England's John Parry catapulted him onto the leaderboard on day three of The Open at Royal Portrush. The 38-year-old's tee shot at the 199-yard 13th took three bounces before disappearing into the hole. Advertisement Parry, playing in only his second Open after a debut in 2022, started on the cut-mark at one over and was not really going anywhere in his round with just one birdie on the front nine getting him to level par. However, a birdie at the 532-yard 12th proved the spark he needed and his ace – the first of the tournament – at the next was followed by a 13-foot birdie at the 15th. That moved the Yorkshireman, a team-mate of Rory McIlroy at the 2007 Walker Cup, into the top 10 on four under.

Reading unveil away kit inspired by Victorian town hall
Reading FC has unveiled a new kit paying homage to Reading's town hall, in honour of the building's 150th Royals' away kit for the 2025/26 League One season has been inspired by the locally made red bricks and terracotta panels that adorn the Victorian building, the club is the second Reading shirt for next season inspired by the Berkshire town's history, with the club's new home kit celebrating its industrial heritage and unique link to shirts are made from eco fabrics and cost £58 each. Reading Town Hall, as it appears today, was built in 1875 and was the backdrop for celebrations when the club reached the Premier League for the first time in 2006. Announcing the new kit, the club said the building was "a focal point in the heart of Reading".It said the new kit linked to "a landmark which is forged in the history of our town, our community and our club".Reacting on social media, one fan said the new kit "looks class", while another said it was "quite nice", adding: "At least nobody can say that our kits are plain and boring this season."But other supporters took a more pessimistic view, with one comparing the kit to Chinese Terracotta Army questioned the club's move away from its traditional red away kit, saying the new shirt was "too orange".Over the years, the Royals have had some unique designs, including the University of Reading's "climate stripes" in 2022/23 and one that featured landmarks around the town. Luke Littler aiming to join elite group of just four darts legends by winning World Matchplay to complete triple crown
LUKE LITTLER admits he is focused on joining the oche elite as a triple crown champion at the World Matchplay. The World No.2 picked up a Premier League title back in 2024 and followed it up by becoming the youngest ever world champion in January. 1 'The Nuke' now needs to win the iconic major at the Winter Gardens to add his name to another list of icons. Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen, Gary Anderson, and most recently Luke Humphries are the only four players to have completed the prestigious feat. Taylor, 16-times world champion, is still the only player to have completed the 'Triple Crown' in a singular darting season. Teen sensation Littler is focused on making sure he picks up that first-round win against Ryan Searle on Sunday to start his path for what would be another history-making victory. He said: 'I am looking forward to going back. 'Obviously my debut didn't go how I wanted it to go, a tough first round against Michael. 'I am just looking forward to that first game and getting a win at the iconic Matchplay. 'It definitely motivates me to try and get the win and try and go far in what has been an up-and-down season so far. 'Hopefully I can just win that first game and see what goes on from there – I just want to get a win at the Winter Gardens.' He added: 'The World Cup did not go to plan for me and Luke [Humphries]. It was tough conditions that we couldn't do much about, but now the Matchplay, you are on your own, not in a team, and can battle it out with the best in the world. 'This is why we play darts indoors' - Video of Luke Littler and Luke Humphries struggling in new tournament emerges 'The Matchplay is a different breed and it is going to be tough if I want to go all the way. 'If I win it, I join that 'Triple Crown' group, so that is obviously what I am focusing on – win the Matchplay and then I will have all three. 'I didn't even realise properly that the 'Triple Crown' was a thing, I thought it was another major added to the list. 'But with only Luke, Phil, Michael, and Gary doing it, it would be a massive achievement.' List of all-time Darts World Champions BELOW is a list of darts world champions by year.
