Ed Sheeran Uses Budget Airlines Instead Of Private Jets

Ed Sheeran may be one of the world's biggest artists and have an estimated net worth of $350 million, but he has admitted that he is not a fan of private jets, and would rather use budget airlines instead. And before you think that the 34-year-old star is flying commercial in a bid to save cash, Ed's reasoning is much more noble: he cares about the environment. Ed opened during his recent appearance on The Louis Theroux Podcast, where he revealed he recently flew home from a European show on a plane full of fans who had attended the gig. It all started when Louis brought up an old news story about Ed inadvertently getting caught up with a group of young men on their way back from a 'lads' trip,' with the host asking: 'How are you with public transport? You probably wouldn't…' But before Louis could finish his sentence, Ed interjected: 'Love it.'When Louis mentioned the past report, Ed said: 'Oh yeah, that was 10 years ago. That was bad. I was flying back on a Sunday night with all the lads who'd just been on a lads' trip. That was bad.'Pressed on why it was a bad experience, the singer continued: 'I was on my own, so this was pre-security. I was on my own, I was on a hangover, as well… I was working on, like, two hours sleep. I was planning on crashing out on the plane, and then, suddenly, there was, like, 50 lads all very excited." 'There was one recently, though, my wife works in sustainability, so we try and fly completely normally as much as possible,' Ed went on. 'We were flying back on RyanAir, I think, from a gig in Italy that I was doing last year, but all my fans who'd been at the gig were flying back on the same flight.' For reference, RyanAir is an Irish ultra-low-cost airline that offers return flights across Europe for less than $50, and has no separate class cabins.'Stop it,' Louis exclaimed in response. 'Aren't you private jet all the way?''No,' Ed replied. 'I'll do it very, very rarely, and only if it's work; if I'm doing a thing in Germany and I have to be in LA the next day.''You don't have a private jet?' Louis asked in disbelief, and when Ed confirmed that he doesn't because he prefers trains, Louis exclaimed: 'You could afford one!' 'Yeah, but it's not really about that,' Ed explained. 'I like the environment. I like trees. I don't know, I find it hard to justify. I'm not saying, like… No one's perfect. I have [used a private jet], when we are doing intense promo trips, there'll be the odd time. But I'm very much: 'We do trains,' or I'm flying to Mexico tomorrow on BA [British Airways] kind of thing.' 'But you said Ryanair, that's all one class, isn't it?' Louis then asked, and Ed said that it was before sharing an anecdote about how awkward flying in economy class can be for him — especially when he is with his and wife Cherry's two children, 4-year-old Lyra and 3-year-old Jupiter. 'I had my kids, and one of them had fallen asleep on me and pissed on me, and this person came up and was like: 'Can I have a selfie, mate?'' Ed recalled. 'And I was like: 'Probably not… probably not the time.'' Needless to say, Ed's comments are super refreshing at a time when other celebs are attracting criticism for their excessive private jet use, including so-called 'climate criminal' Kylie Jenner, and his bestie Taylor Swift. Titus Welliver to Play NYPD Officer in MGM+ Crime Drama The Westies, Opposite J.K. Simmons

Titus Welliver is returning to law enforcement — and this time, he's going after the mob. The former Bosch star is joining J.K. Simmons in MGM+'s The Westies, a crime drama centered around the real-life titular Irish-American crime gang in 1980s New York City, our sister site Deadline reports. More from TVLine Spider-Noir: Nicolas Cage Suits Up in Superhero Series for MGM+ and Prime Video - WATCH Jon Hamm to Star in MGM+ Drama American Hostage From EP Shawn Ryan The Equalizer Spinoff Not Moving Forward at CBS More specifically, 'The Westies is set in the early 1980s when the construction of the Jacob Javitz Convention Center on the Westies' home turf in Hell's Kitchen promises a financial windfall for the Irish-American organized crime gang,' per the show's official logline. 'Despite being outnumbered 50-to-1 by the Five Families of the Italian mafia, The Westies' legendary brutality and cunning have given them the leverage necessary to share the spoils through a fragile détente. But internal conflict between the brash younger generation and the old-school leadership threatens to set a match to this powder keg, which will sweep the Westies into the FBI's ever-deepening investigation into the Italian mafia.' Welliver is playing Glenn Keenan, described as a 'troubled NYPD officer who grew up with the Westies crew, torn between loyalty to the law and love for his wayward son.' He'll appear opposite J.K. Simmons as mob boss Eamon Sweeney. Chris Brancato serves as showrunner of The Westies, co-creating and executive-producing alongside Michael Panes. Production on the eight-episode season is set to begin in Toronto in July. Welliver is best known for his 10-season run as Harry Bosch, the titular detective in Bosch and its spinoff Bosch: Legacy. The Legacy series finale dropped April 17, ending Welliver's 10-season run as the police detective from the Michael Connelly novels. Ranking 16 Love Islanders who look exactly like other contestants, as fans compare Harry to winner Tom Clare

Love Island kicked off its 12th season last night, and while a lot of people were caught up with the new dating twist, bombshell Toni's arrival and the Villa's hammock addition, one thing many viewers couldn't get over was how similar new Islander Harry Cooksley looks to All Stars winner Tom Clare. During the episode, X (formerly known as Twitter) was filled with people memeing the pair, saying how much they look like twins. And they're not wrong, they literally look identical, we're half convinced Tom has gone in for round three undercover. And this isn't the first time the show has seen contestants who have been doppelgängers of each other, and no, we're not talking about actual twins Jess and Eve Gale. Over the years there's been many times when fans have thought the producers have done a 'copy and paste' job on the Islanders. So who has looked the most similar over the years? Well here's our official ranking of the most similar Love Island lookalikes. All the way back in season five, following Arabella's short stint on the show, fans were convinced she had returned undercover as new bombshell Francesca Allen, with Twitter full of people claiming Arabella had just come in in a wig. While they do have somewhat of a similar look, we reckon it's mainly their teeth that had fans comparing the pair. Clarisse was a season seven Casa Amor bombshell who made her mark in the villa during her short stay by briefly coupling up with Tyler and putting a temporary end to Tyler and Kaz. When Ella entered the Villa as part of the OG lineup in season eight, many fans couldn't help but compare the two thanks to their exact same centre parting, razor sharp dark hair and perfect teeth. A new comparison for this season, everyone has been talking about how similar season 12 Islander Megan Clarke is to season five icon Maura Higgins. The pair both have dark hair and stunning features, plus they're both Irish which may also have something do with them being compared. While Maura hasn't spoken about the comparison, Megan has said how flattered she is to be compared to the former Islander, saying: "I love Maura — what a compliment. She's an icon." Another new one for the list, when Ben entered the Villa last night we couldn't help but think he looked very familiar to season four's Adam Collard. They've both got the dark hair, muscles, signature tattoos and confidence. Let's just hope Ben doesn't act exactly the same as Adam did in 2017. Ok we lost track of the times we got confused between Paige Thorne and Gemma Owen during season eight. With their dark wavy locks and petite stature these two could have been twins separated at birth. We knew we recognised Blu Chegini from last night's episode of Love Island as the man is a dead ringer for Winter Love Island's Ron Hall. With their similar body compositions, and shaved heads we wouldn't be surprised if these two were separated at birth. When Kendall Rae Knight entered the Villa all the way back in season four in 2017, the internet was alight with comparing her to season two icon Kady McDermott. And honestly the pair do look incredibly similar with their identical face shapes, similar eyes and long flowy dark locks. And the prize for the most similar Love Island lookalike pair has to go to this season's Harry Cooksley and Winter Love Island and All Stars winner Tom Clare. The pair should do a DNA test because they look - the brown hair, facial hair and head shape - and act so similar. Even the way they're posing is the same. Want even more Love Island gossip?
