Nintendo Switch 2 restocks live — Best Buy, Target, Walmart and more confirmed stock
Nintendo Switch 2 restock has continued to get easier over the weekend and this week looks like we'll have plenty of availability left. Months of stock shortages have given way to a reliable supply at several of the major retailers.
Walmart, Costco and Target are all seeing consoles available, either purchased solo or with Mario Kart World bundled in. Meanwhile, Best Buy only has the Mario Kart Bundle available. Which, if you ask me, is the one to get anyway as that saves you $30 on the epic Switch 2 launch title.
Even if you haven't snapped one up yet, the stock seems to be hanging around a bit longer than we saw in June and July. Which suggests we could be nearing the end of chronic stock shortages.
Over in the U.K., it's been a different picture for weeks now with Switch 2 seeing plenty of availability for a while. Anyone that hasn't bought Nintendo's best-selling hybrid console already should have no trouble finding a device at any of the U.K.'s major retailers.
Nintendo Switch 2 launched on June 5 and costs $449 / £395 standalone and $499 / £429 bundled with Mario Kart World. There is also a new Pokémon Legends A-Z Bundle, which also costs $499 / £429 and is available to pre-order now. It will launch on October 16.
I've been tracking Nintendo Switch 2 restocks every single week since the console was first made available to pre-order back in April, and even though it's now more available than it's ever been, I'll keep providing the latest updates to help you lock in a console as soon as possible.
Best Buy currently has stock of the Switch 2 Mario Kart Bundle. Best Buy has been primarily holding in-store restocks, but its latest drop is also online. Mario Kart Bundle: $499 @ Best Buy
After being absent from the Switch 2 pre-order phase, Amazon U.S. launched a Nintendo Switch 2 listing page and is now allowing shoppers to request an invite to purchase. There are no details yet when invites will be sent, but sign up now to be in with a chance to score a Switch 2. Mario Kart Bundle: $499 @ Amazon
Target has restocked the Nintendo Switch 2. Both the standalone console and the Mario Kart Bundle are available for shipping, so make your pick and get yours. Mario Kart Bundle: $499 @ Target
Sam's Club currently has stock of the Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart bundle! You can only order one per membership, though.

GameStop says it has restocked the Nintendo Switch 2, but it is currently only available in-store. However, as a specialist video game retailer, we're expecting online stock to arrive at almost any point, so watch this space. Mario Kart Bundle: $499 @ GameStop
My Nintendo Store is using an invite system to allocate its available Switch 2 stock. You will need to meet specific criteria, including having a Nintendo Switch Online account and then be selected and sent an invite to order the console. Mario Kart Bundle: $499 @ Nintendo Store
Antonline's Switch 2 listings have a "coming soon" message. This could be a sign that the tech retailer is planning to restock the console in the near future, though that message has been there quite a while now, so it's a little puzzling. Mario Kart Bundle: $499 @ Antonline
Newegg's Nintendo Switch 2 pages are live, but there's currently no stock. Newegg may restock the console soon, but nothing is confirmed yet, so this is another one to watch closely for now. Mario Kart Bundle: $499 @ Newegg

Income needed to buy a home up across US, but starting to lower in Atlanta
Across the United States, real estate company Redfin says how much everyone needs to earn to buy a house is up about 0.5%. However, that's not the case for Atlanta and 10 other major areas in the U.S. Out of the 50 most populated metros in the country, Atlanta was the city with the sixth highest decrease in how much income you'd need to buy. Shop Top Mortgage Rates Personalized rates in minutes A quicker path to financial freedom Your Path to Homeownership [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] The national average income to buy a home was still $112,131 per year, for a median price of $447,035. In Atlanta, the income needed fell slightly to $103,719. TRENDING STORIES: Charges dropped against man accused of trying to kidnap child at Walmart Ft. Stewart shooting: 5 injured soldiers expected to survive, shooter ID'd GA mother searching for answers after son disappears, remains found in FL The median price to buy a home in Atlanta is $407,500, according to Redfin's data for June. 'The income needed to afford a home is falling in the aforementioned 11 metros because home prices are falling,' Redfin said. 'In Oakland, for example, the median home sale price fell 4.6% year over year in June—the largest decline among the top 50 metros. Next came West Palm Beach (-4.1%) and Jacksonville (-3.9%)." Even though the necessary income amount to buy has gone down a bit, Redfin said that doesn't mean the typical household can afford to buy. "While homebuying has become more affordable in some parts of the country, the typical household still earns far less than it needs to afford the typical home," Redfin said. 'The typical U.S. household earns an estimated $86,258—roughly $25,000 less than the income required to afford the typical home for sale." Redfin said only about a third of home listings in the U.S. are affordable for the average household, a slight improvement from 2024. Redfin said a home is considered affordable, by their company's accounting, if a buyer will spend no more than 30% of their income on a housing payment. Here are the 11 metro areas where affordability is coming a little closer: Oakland, California (-4.6%) West Palm Beach, Florida (-3.7%) Jacksonville, Florida (-3.5%) San Diego, California (-3.2%) Tampa, Florida (-2.1%) Atlanta, Georgia (-2%) Phoenix, Arizona (-1.8%) St. Louis, Missouri (-1%) Orlando, Florida (-0.7%) Sacramento, California (-0.4%) Dallas, Texas (-0.2%) [SIGN UP: WSB-TV Daily Headlines Newsletter] Error in retrieving data Sign in to access your portfolio Error in retrieving data Error in retrieving data Error in retrieving data Error in retrieving data

Walmart Employee's 'Magic' Side Hustle Surpasses $1 Million
This Side Hustle Spotlight Q&A features 35-year-old New York City-based entrepreneur Mehek Khera. Khera is the founder and CEO of Niramaya Foods, a snack brand "rooted in wellness and inspired by Indian heritage." At the age of 24, Khera left New Delhi, India and immigrated to the U.S., where she landed a job at Walmart. Then burnout and health issues motivated her to start a health-forward side hustle. Niramaya is hitting $1 million in revenue for the first time in 2025. Learn how Khera transformed Niramaya into the successful business behind Naan pretzels and dips, here. Responses have been edited for length and clarity. Image Credit: Niramaya Foods. Mehek Khera. Want to read more stories like this? What was your day job or primary occupation when you started your side hustle? I was working in retail at Walmart ecommerce, managing the category and supply chain for beauty and apparel. It was fast-paced, high-pressure and fulfilling in many ways — but over time, the long hours, lack of real food and stress began to take a toll on my body and mind. Related: This 26-Year-Old's Side Hustle Turned Full-Time Business Led to $100,000 in 2.5 Months and Is On Track for $2.5 Million in 2025 When did you start your side hustle, and where did you find the inspiration for it? Niramaya began to form in 2020, during a season of burnout and health struggles. I was dealing with chronic, undiagnosed autoimmune conditions and couldn't find answers. I left my job and turned to nutrition school — and through that, rediscovered the healing power of the foods I grew up with: vibrant dals, functional spices, sabzis made from fresh vegetables. I realized those recipes, passed down through generations, were medicine in themselves, and yet, I couldn't find them on any shelf in a way that felt clean, convenient or modern. That gap between culture and convenience, tradition and today, became the foundation for Niramaya. What were some of the first steps you took to get your side hustle off the ground? How much money/investment did it take to launch? I started in my kitchen, playing with recipes, taking feedback seriously and testing early versions at local markets. I knew I couldn't do this casually, so I saved up about $50,000 over two years to afford the minimum order quantities for our first co-manufacturer. I researched tirelessly, made hundreds of phone calls and eventually found a partner that aligned with our mission. We developed early packaging, launched a small website and put real products into people's hands. That's when the magic started. Image Credit: Courtesy of Niramaya Foods Are there any free or paid resources that were especially helpful? Founder networks like Startup CPG, Naturally Network and SKU Accelerator made a world of difference. Slack groups for CPG founders were fast, brutally honest and incredibly supportive. On the tools side: Notion for tracking everything, Canva for design, QuickBooks for finances. But the most valuable resource by far? Talking to consumers face-to-face during demos. No software can replace that. If you could go back and change one process or approach, what would it be? I wouldn't change the path — every challenge taught me something I needed. But I would better prepare for the sheer resource drain. Budget twice the money and give yourself twice the time. Everything takes longer and costs more than you think — and that's not a flaw: It's just the nature of the game. Related: They Started a Side Hustle Producing an 'Obvious' Food Item. It Hit $300,000 Monthly Revenue Fast — On Track for Over $20 Million in 2025. What's something about this side hustle turned business that surprised or challenged you the most? How capital-intensive retail really is. Getting onto shelves is just the start — then comes the real work of driving velocity, educating the shopper and staying top-of-mind. Another challenge was re-educating people about Indian food. So many assume it's just "heavy curry." But our cuisine is so much more: vibrant, clean, gut-friendly, plant-forward. Translating that truth through packaging, product and language has been both a challenge and a privilege. Can you recall a specific moment when something went wrong — how did you handle it? At one of our early retail partners, our dips were priced too high and placed on the very top shelf — almost invisible to the consumer. Rather than panic, I calmly reached out to the buyer with sales data and shelf psychology insights and offered to support with demos and social posts if they would consider revisiting price and placement. They agreed. That moment reminded me that being proactive, respectful and solutions-oriented goes a long way in retail. Image Credit: Courtesy of Niramaya Foods How long did it take to see consistent revenue? We started seeing steady traction around nine months in. We began with smaller independents, a few regional stores and a lot of in-person events. It was grassroots, but it taught me how to listen, adapt and scale responsibly. What does growth and revenue look like today? Today, Niramaya is available in over 1,200 retail doors across the country, including Sprouts, Albertsons and a strong base of New York City independents. This will be our first year in seven figures. We're launching new SKUs and doubling down on retailers who believe in what we're building. What do you enjoy most about running this business? The deep creative satisfaction of building something that feels true and seeing it touch people. When someone says, "I've never tasted anything so clean and bold at once," I know we're doing something meaningful. We're not just selling food: We're shifting the perception of Indian flavors and bringing more people into the fold. Troubled retail chain closes stores, files Chapter 11 bankruptcy
The retail apocalypse has continued to grow as a combination of rising labor and product costs driven by inflation, rising interest rates on debt obligations, over-market lease rates, and changing consumer attitudes toward shopping continues to drive retailers to sell assets, close stores, and file for bankruptcy. The teen apparel and accessories sector has faced distress since the Covid-19 pandemic, as major retailers like Justice, which closed down in 2021, and Forever 21, which closed this year, have liquidated in bankruptcy. Related: Beloved sandwich chain franchisee closes in Chapter 11 bankruptcy And now, the parent company of popular teen girls' jewelry and accessories retail chain Claire's has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection with plans to either sell its assets or liquidate and close its stores. Claire's Holdings LLC and 13 affiliates filed their petition in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, listing $1 billion to $10 billion in assets and liabilities on Aug. 6. The retailer filed for bankruptcy for the first time in 2018, eliminating $1.9 billion in debt. The debtor listed about $690 million in total funded debt obligations in court papers. The debtor's largest unsecured creditors include Studex Corp., owed $10.8 million; Premium Retail Services LLC, owed over $1.6 million; and Inspired Thinking, owed over $1.2 million. The Hoffman Estates, Ill., debtor blamed a challenging environment over the last few years caused by macroeconomic and retail-specific market pressures, including reduced foot traffic in stores, a rise in interest rates, inflation, tariffs, heightened competition from comparable retailers offering substantial discounts, and a disparity between inventory and customer demand, according to court documents seeking authorization to close stores. Rising tariff costs also severely impacted the company. The debtor will likely liquidate and close all of its stores if it is unable to find a buyer willing to continue operations as a going concern. The debtor sought approval to close its Hoffman Estates warehouse and corporate offices, as well. Store closing sales are expected to begin Aug. 8 and conclude by Oct. 31, 2025, according to the store closing motion. Increased competition, consumer spending trends and the ongoing shift away from brick-and-mortar retail, in combination with our current debt obligations and macroeconomic factors, necessitate this course of action for Claire's and its stakeholders," Chris Cramer, CEO of Claire's, said in a statement. "We remain in active discussions with potential strategic and financial partners and are committed to completing our review of strategic alternatives," Cramer said.
