Virgin River favourite Colin Lawrence has posted a heartfelt message on Instagram following an emotional journey to London this week.

The star, who plays John 'Preacher' Middleton across all six series of Netflix's beloved romantic drama, has just finished shooting the forthcoming seventh instalment.

Series seven will continue from where Mel Monroe (played by Alexandra Breckenridge) wed Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), though their wedding celebrations turned to chaos when Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley) seemingly vanished.

Elsewhere, Preacher avoided prison for accidentally killing violent Wes (Steve Bacic) whilst his romance with firefighter Kaira Bryant (Kandyse McClure) continues to flourish.
With countless viewers eagerly awaiting Virgin River's comeback in the coming months, Lawrence disclosed he had recently visited his birth city of London as part of a European holiday, reports the Mirror US.

Posting a series of touching photographs of his family in the capital, he penned: "The first stop on the European vacation is England, where I was born.
"I haven't been back since I was a little boy. It was fun to play tourist and I even got an opportunity to visit the home I lived in as a child!"
He concluded with a moving message: "Not gonna lie, that was something special."

The pictures included a beaming selfie featuring the actor alongside wife Lucia Walters and their two daughters, plus a snapshot of his former family residence. Lawrence's followers were clearly moved by the glimpse into the star's homecoming journey, flocking to the comments section to share their heartfelt messages.
One Instagram user responded: "Beautiful family! Enjoy your vacation! Safe travels."
