New York Giants training camp: Top 5 plays from Week 2

The New York Giants are through two weeks of training camp and will begin preparing for the preseason next week. First up is the Buffalo Bills, who host Big Blue on Saturday afternoon. But before looking ahead, we'll take a moment to look back at the week that was. Here's a look at the top five plays of the week. 5. Moonball Wide receiver Malik Nabers makes so many highlight catches that this one just seems routine. But it really wasn't. Nabers went up and high-pointed a moonball from quarterback Russell Wilson for a 50-yard gain. 4. Dart dot Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart and wide receiver Montrell Washington linked up several times in Week 2, and a few of those plays warrant a spot on this list. However, the ball placement on one of their Thursday connections was elite. 3. One-handed snag Cornerback Art Green opened the second week of training camp practice with a dazzler, intercepting veteran quarterback Jameis Winston using only one hand. The player/fan reaction tells the story. 2. Unblockable There is not a single practice that goes by in which rookie edge rusher Abdul Carter doesn't stand out. He's an unstoppable, unblockable force, and the offensive line learned that once again in Week 2. At first glance, this play seems unremarkable. But the more you watch it, the more remarkable it becomes. 1. Wild Wan'Dale Wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson made a circus catch during practice on Saturday, hauling in an underthrown ball from quarterback Russell Wilson that cornerback Dru Phillips had made a good play on. Sometimes the ball just bounces the right way. Literally. This article originally appeared on Giants Wire: Giants training camp: Top 5 plays from Week 2

Jaguars place offensive lineman on reserve/retired list

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced that they have placed offensive lineman Dennis Daley on the reserve/retired list. Daley was a sixth-round pick by the Carolina Panthers in 2019. After three seasons with the team, he spent 2022 with Tennessee and 2023 with Arizona. Daley was signed to the Jaguars' practice squad during last season. Over his career, Daley appeared in 54 games and made 37 starts, which included 28 at tackle and nine at guard. Bolstering the depth and competition along the offensive line unit was a priority for GM James Gladstone this offseason, who made six additions between free agency and the NFL draft. The Jaguars now have an open roster spot with Daley on the reserve/retired list. Jaguars place OL Dennis Daley on reserve/retired list

Veteran offensive tackle Dennis Daley is pulling the plug on his bid to make the Jaguars' 53-man roster. The Jaguars announced that they placed Daley on the reserve/retired list on Sunday morning. They did not immediately fill the open spot. Daley signed to the Jaguars' practice squad last December and then signed a reserve contract with the team in January. The 2019 sixth-round pick by the Panthers started 21 of the 34 games he played in three seasons with Carolina. He started 15 games for the Titans in 2022 and appeared in three games for the Cardinals in 2023. Fred Johnson, Javon Foster, and Cole Van Lanen are remaining depth options at tackle for the Jaguars. Walker Little and Anton Harrison are set to be the team's starters.
