King meets CEOs, representatives of Texas companies

His Majesty King Abdullah II on Thursday met with representatives of government organisations and companies in Texas, to discuss investment opportunities in Jordan and enhance economic cooperation in strategic sectors.
The meeting included CEOs and representatives of companies operating in energy, defence, high-value industries, real estate, infrastructure, technology, and future industries such as semiconductor manufacturing.
Texas is the eighth largest economy in the world with a GDP of $2.7 trillion, and is a leader in many industries and exports.
During the meeting, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II, His Majesty expressed Jordan's readiness to strengthen its strategic partnership with the United States and expand economic cooperation in priority areas for the benefit of both countries.
The King highlighted the rapid growth of Jordan's economy, noting that the Kingdom is focusing on investment opportunities in high-value sectors such as green hydrogen, gas, renewable energy, natural minerals, digital services, and innovation, in line with the Economic Modernisation Vision.
His Majesty also spoke about Jordan's advantages as an investment destination, including low manufacturing costs, supportive legislation, a skilled labour force, and free trade agreements that allow products to reach a large number of global markets.
The King said Jordan's prudent fiscal policies and advanced infrastructure enhance the country's economic competitiveness and ability to build effective partnerships, attracting global technology companies to invest and expand operations in the Kingdom.
His Majesty also highlighted promising opportunities for investment in a number of mega infrastructure projects, as well as healthcare, tourism, and education projects.
The meeting included representatives from Chevron Phillips Chemical, Eco Power Crypto, Cirrus Logic, Exela Technologies, Advanced Micro Devices, Texas Venture Alliance, Arbisoft, Hillwood – a Perot Company, Big Sky Medical, Hylio, Bell Flight, Saronic Technologies, Wheatly Consulting, and Raytheon Technologies.
Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, Jordan's Ambassador to the United States Dina Kawar, and Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson attended the meeting.
Prior to the meeting, the King met with Texas Governor Greg Abbott to discuss ways to enhance cooperation.

The King underscored the importance of the outcomes of these workshops, including initiatives and priorities that support the upcoming government executive program, in line with a participatory approach. He also highlighted the importance of focusing in the next phase on improving the quality of services. Moreover, His Majesty emphasized the need to maintain continuous communication with citizens to clarify the initiatives of the Economic Modernization Vision and the government's work plans. The meeting was attended by the King's Office Director Eng. Ala Batayneh, Minister of State for Economic Affairs Mohannad Shehadeh, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan, and Minister of Investment Dr. Tareq Abu Ghazaleh. --(Petra)

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday reviewed progress in implementation of the Economic Modernisation Vision's executive programme during the first half of this year. During a meeting at Al Husseiniya Palace, attended by HRH Crown Prince Hussein, His Majesty was briefed by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan and the concerned ministers on the vision's current projects and most notable achievements to date, according to a Royal Court statement. His Majesty highlighted the importance of committing to implementation within the set timeframe in order to ensure desired results are achieved. The King was also briefed on the outcomes of the Economic Modernisation Vision's second phase workshops, hosted by the Royal Hashemite Court over 12 days in July, during which experts from the private sector, academia, and civil society evaluated progress in the first phase of the vision (2023-2025) and provided recommendations for its second phase as the government begins drafting the executive programme for the years 2026-2029. His Majesty stressed the importance of considering the outcomes of these workshops and the initiatives and priorities proposed for the next phase of the vision's executive programme, noting that this mechanism promotes a participatory approach, the statement said. The King called for focusing on improving the quality of services in the second phase, urging open and transparent communication with citizens to clarify the vision's initiatives, and the government's action plans. His Majesty emphasised the importance of ensuring the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid to all areas of the Strip, highlighting the ongoing cooperation between Jordan and France to step up the humanitarian response in Gaza. The King reiterated Jordan's rejection of Israeli statements regarding the 'Greater Israel' vision, plans to consolidate the occupation of Gaza and expand military control over it, and unilateral measures in the West Bank, including the settlement plan in the (E1) area. His Majesty said the only way to achieve just and comprehensive peace in the region is through the two-state solution, noting the importance of France's intention to recognise the State of Palestine as a step towards providing more support to Palestinians and achieving stability in the region. The call also touched on other regional developments, including Jordan's role in supporting Syria and Lebanon's efforts to preserve their sovereignty and enhance their stability.
