Gayle King Reveals Her 2 Picks to Be Named PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive: ‘They're Really Good Human Beings' (Exclusive)
She described both of her picks as "really good human beings"
The CBS News journalists also said "there are lots [of worthy men] to choose from" for the annual titleGayle King is singling out two actors she believes deserve to wear the PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive crown.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the opening night of Call Me Izzy on Broadway in New York City on Thursday, June 12, the CBS News journalist said that while "there are lots [of worthy men] to choose from," she'd love to see a certain Bridgerton leading man tapped for the honor.
"I wouldn't be mad if Regé-Jean Page got it. I wouldn't be mad," she says, referring to the 37-year-old British actor, who rose to fame playing love interest Simon, the Duke of Hastings, in season 1 of the Netflix period drama.
King also tossed out another name: Brandon Sklenar, star of It Ends with Us, 1923 and more.
"Brandon Sklenar, also nice," she says of the 34-year-old actor.
"Because I've met them, and in addition to looking good, I think they're really good human beings," she continues of both actors. "That to me matters more than anything, does more than anything. Because good looks come and go, but your character and a big heart doesn't go."
King isn't the first celebrity to share her votes for the SMA title. In January, Today co-host Savannah Guthrie asked Will Ferrell and his You're Cordially Invited costar Reese Witherspoon about the Elf star potentially campaigning for the annual honor.
"Again. I mean, I missed out last year," Ferrell, 57, joked.
Asked why she believes Ferrell would make a good cover star, Witherspoon, 49, replied, " 'Cause I mean, who else would it be? I can't think of anybody!"
Also in January, Matthew McConaughey put in a little plug for fellow actor Anthony Hopkins. At the time, the Interstellar star shared a carousel of photos on Instagram of himself posing with various celebrity friends at the 2025 Joy Awards in Saudi Arabia.
He captioned a shot of himself and Hopkins, 87: "It's past time this Sir is Peoples Sexiest Man Alive."
Last year's SMA title was bestowed on John Krasinski. As the Office alum prepares to pass the torch to the 2025 honoree later this year, he recently shared some advice for his successor.

"Buckle up. It is a hard crown to wear, but you'll be all right. Just stay focused. Take a deep breath, you'll get through it," Krasinski, 45, told PEOPLE at the May 19 premiere of Apple TV+'s Fountain of Youth in New York City.

Bop House Co-Founder Camilla Araujo Exits a Week After Sophie Rain as She Starts 'New Era'
Less than a week after Sophie Rain's exit, Bop House co-founder has confirmed she is leaving the popular creator collective, calling the decision the start of a 'new era' in her career. I am shooting for a lot of magazines.' The 25-year-old model and influencer expanded on her decision in a weekend interview with Raav, where she briefly addressed her professional history with Rain. 'We were business partners, but at some point, you have to recognize when a chapter has run its course,' Araujo said. 'Bop House was a great experience for what it was, but I knew deep down I needed to focus on my own career and creative direction. It wasn't about walking away from anyone personally — it was about walking toward something that felt more aligned with my goals.' Rumors of tension between the two had circulated for months. While Araujo acknowledged that life in a content house comes with challenges, she downplayed the speculation. 'I mean, it is what it is. Like seven girls in a house, like there's bound to be some drama, but no, not over here,' she said. Araujo emphasized that the decision was less about disputes and more about pursuing work that excites her. 'Leaving Bop House was really about doing what feels right for me at this stage of my life,' she said. 'I've been putting more energy into my modeling, my business partnerships, and collaborations that challenge me creatively. Sometimes you have to close one door so another one can fully open.' That approach extends to her brand collaborations. 'I think it's about what feels right. It's about what makes you feel good,' she said. 'I think that's what happens in life in general. You pick the things that make you feel good. It feeds your soul. You do it. If you feel like it's a good opportunity, you do it. I'm not perfect. I probably don't make the right choices all the time, but I do what I feel is best.' While Araujo hasn't shared specifics about her next moves, she hinted that several major projects are in the works. 'I have a lot of things coming up,' she said again, adding that fans can expect to see her in multiple magazine features and new campaigns in the coming months. Billy Joel to close beloved New York motorcycle shop after diagnosis
Billy Joel is closing his beloved motorcycle shop on Long Island, New York, after nearly 15 years, and will auction off his extensive collection of bikes later this year. The decision to close 20th Century Cycles in late September was made after he was diagnosed with a rare brain disorder, according to a spokesperson, Claire Mercuri. In May, Joel announced that he was cancelling upcoming concerts after learning he has Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, a fluid buildup in his brain that can affect thinking, concentrating, memory, movement and more, according to the Cleveland Clinic. The 76-year-old singer, composer and pianist was having trouble with his balance but otherwise felt good, he said in an interview last month on Bill Maher's Club Random podcast. Joel, who grew up in nearby Hicksville, opened 20th Century Cycles in late 2010 as a place to maintain and repair his motorcycles, restore and customise ones he bought and showcase his collection for the public at no charge. 'It's basically promoting an aesthetic here," he said in a 2013 YouTube video filmed at the shop. "I like the older style. I like the automotive style from the '30s to the '60s. I wanted to collect a whole bunch of those kinds of bikes, put 'em in one place and let people see what that era of bikes looked like. Because it's starting to be a lost aesthetic.' He said he also wanted to bring foot traffic and business to downtown Oyster Bay — a ritzy waterfront community about 25 miles (40 kilometres) east of midtown Manhattan — where part of the street that includes 20th Century Cycles was renamed Billy Joel Way in 2023. 'I've been living in this community for a long time,' he said in the video. 'I actually grew up not far from here. And I'd like to get a little interest going into the town and the village.' Joel's nearby home in Centre Island is listed for $29.9 million, and he has been living in South Florida, while keeping a home in Sag Harbor on Long Island. The shop became a popular stop for motorcycle enthusiasts and tourists. It was home to Joel's collection of more than 75 bikes, dating back all the way to the 1940s and including Harley-Davidsons, Triumphs, Ducatis, Moto Guzzis, Indians and BMWs. One of the most valuable, he said, was a 1952 Vincent Rapide, which can sell for tens of thousands of dollars and sometimes more, according to auction sites. 'I think everybody in Oyster Bay would agree that it's a big loss," said Ted Bahr, who owns a vintage rock poster gallery next to 20th Century Cycles. 'Billy's place is visited on weekends by dozens and dozens of people, typically on motorcycles but also people in cars. People come up and look at the window all the time. I mean, it's a real destination. Billy Joel is a real superstar, and he is a hometown boy, so it's really unfortunate." The motorcycles that were in the shop have already been moved out. But it has been open on recent weekends, selling new, used and vintage motorcycle parts that were still in stock there. Joel's enthusiasm for motorcycles dates back decades. In 1982, he was riding a motorcycle on Long Island when he was struck by a car that ran a red light, injuring his left thumb and dislocating his right wrist. He spent about a month in the hospital. He has also ridden motorcycles in various benefits for 9/11 first responders, breast cancer and other causes over the years. A date for the auction of his collection has not been set.
