Oktoberfest will officially kick off in the European city on September 20 and will then run until October 5 at Theresienwiese Park.

Simon Gorrighan, London Stansted's aviation director, said: "We are delighted to welcome Lufthansa back to London Stansted to once again offer people from across our region an easy and convenient way to experience the world-famous Oktoberfest in Munich.
"Oktoberfest dates back to 1810 and is considered the largest beer festival in the world with over six million visitors each year so we know flights will be in high demand."
The beer festival has attracted tourists for decades and become a major annual event in Europe.
Around seven million people visit the drinks festival each year, with around 85 per cent of that number being German attendees.

Most visitors will also dress up in traditional Bavarian clothes - lederhosen for guys and dirndls for girls.
Outside the beer tents, the entire festival has a carnival vibe with games, rides and even haunted houses.

Then inside the tents is where you will find the traditional Oktoberfest staples, including food stalls, music and of course, large steins of beer.
All the tents at the festival are free to enter, with beer typically costing around €12 (£10.40).

And there are so many tents to explore, such as Marstall which can host over 3,400 people.
Alternatively, you can head to Armbrustschützen-Festhalle which even features a crossbow competition that has been running since 1895.
Food varies in price, with meals costing between €10 (£8.67) and €20 (£17.34) on average.
But if you do want a traditional sausage or bratwurst, you can grab one for around €6 (£5.20).

My village mole said: 'We're awash with stars and now Shawn has started hanging out in Great Tew all the time. 'The word on the street is that he's rented a little place here for some peace and quiet before he goes off on his tour. 'No one ever asks him for a selfie so he must be loving the fact he's left alone. Advertisement 'But when he walks into cafes and pubs in the area, heads do turn. 'Shawn is treated like a normal person too, he doesn't get any special treatment because he's famous. 'The last time he was in the cafe, he got a telling-off because he was ordering his food right before the kitchen closed. They told him to hurry up and order. 'The poor lad. He's the talk of the village.' Advertisement Luckily for Shawn, his ears must have stopped burning by last night, when he flew to Budapest for the first show of his tour. He will play three more dates in Denmark, Austria and Germany before performing at London's O2 Arena on August 16. Heartbroken Shawn Mendes stops live concert to pay tribute to Liam Payne after his 'completely devastating' death Once the tour's European leg is over, Shawn heads to the United States, with the run of shows finishing at the Hollywood Bowl on October 17. 'It helped me reconnect with myself, allowing me to work through emotions, find clarity and feel stronger.' Well, the next time he needs a break from the world, we know where he'll be heading.

UK train service to relaunch first class for the first time in 23 years with comfier seats and more charging ports

The train company isn't the only one that previously ditched first class seating FIRST IN LINE UK train service to relaunch first class for the first time in 23 years with comfier seats and more charging ports ONE UK train company is bringing back its first class seats for the first time in over two decades. With comfortable seats, large windows and huge tables, these will be offered as an on-the-day upgrade for a journey that's a tad more luxurious. 5 Chiltern Railways is bringing back its first class seating and carriage Credit: chris roberts 5 Travellers will get squishy seats and large tray tables Credit: chris roberts Win one of 8 incredible holidays to the Caribbean, Mexico and Greece by voting in The Sun's Travel Awards -enter to win here. Chiltern Railway is introducing newer trains to its network, called the Mark 5A train. After 23 years, Chiltern Railways is bringing back first class carriages on its newest trains which will operate between London Marylebone to Stourbridge Junction in 2026. Seats in the first class carriages will be offered as an on-the-day so travellers can upgrade to a more spacious seat. How an on-the-day upgrade works is that passengers pay the difference between a standard class ticket and first class fare at a ticket office before the journey or in some cases on the train. You can also buy a first class ticket in advance when the trains are officially introduced. The pictures of the new first class carriages show wide and comfy looking seats that have a winged headrest and large tables. Once the new fleet is rolled out Chiltern Railways said the trains will have more standard-class seats than today. Other features across the new trains include plug sockets and USB ports at every seat, free Wi-Fi and digital information screens to track your journeys progress. There will be automated onboard air conditioning that reacts to outdoor temperatures so you shouldn't ever be too cold or hot. For more storage, there are overhead luggage racks in every carriage, and onboard there will be dedicated storage for six bikes. Plus, certain passengers will be able to use the dedicated accessible areas complete with companion seating and hearing loop. Chiltern Railways scrapped its first class seats decades ago and discontinued its business zone, which offered an on-board upgrade, in March 2020. In recent years there has been a lack of demand for first class tickets which are generally more expensive, but price varies depending on whether it's in peak or off-peak journeys. Several other train operators have eliminated first class since 2020 including London Northwestern Railway, Southeastern and Stansted Express. Read here to find out where you can find the country's most beautiful train journey which takes 10 minutes and costs £3. Plus, one of Europe's most beautiful train stations could soon get direct routes from the UK.
