Fast and Furious villain warns they're ‘ready to go' for final sequel appearance

Metro4 days ago
Jason Momoa has promised that he's 'ready to go' for the next Fast and Furious movie, but is still waiting for the all-important call.
The Dune legend popped up as Dante Reyes in 2023's Fast X, which served as the 10th movie in the legendary action franchise, and he was clearly in his element while stepping into his campy villain era alongside Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese and co.
After Vin, aka Dominic Toretto, confirmed that the 11th and final instalment will be racing onto the big screen in 2027, the 46-year-old revealed that he would love to return to the fold.
Speaking to Metro to promote his stunning historical drama, Chief of War, talk turned to his future projects, and whether we would ever see Dante again.
'Listen, they couldn't get rid of me if they tried,' he declared. 'But I'm just saying that I'm waiting for them to call.
'I'm ready to go. You can quote me, I'm ready to f**k s**t up.'
Fast X was released in 2023 and ended on an almighty cliffhanger, perfectly setting up Dominic's desperation to save his 'family' and Dante's desire to exact revenge on the gang after the events of the fifth movie led to his father's death.
Jason's unhinged performance was a hit with fans and critics alike, with many branding his character the 'best villain yet'.
Unpacking his efforts in a chat with Variety at the time, he shared that he had the time of his life with the role.
'I've never played a character that's, what's the word – he's evil and quirky and androgynous,' he teased. 'He's very sadistic and fun. It's very bizarre.
'I haven't played a villain in a very long time.'
The Game of Thrones icon jumped right into character and actually improvised some of his most morbid scenes, including one where he enjoyed a cocktail with two of his dead henchmen.
Director Louis Leterrier raved about his efforts in front of the camera, telling the Hollywood Reporter: 'What you have to realize is that Jason and I love each other.
'We found each other on this movie, and we realized that making each other laugh was a great way to create Dante.
'We really liked making each other laugh, and the extra points, the joker of our game, was to get Vin to crack up and come out of character as Dom Toretto. More Trending
'So we tried really hard, like when Dante calls Dom 'butthole,' but Vin is so focused when he is on set that it was impossible.'
Fingers crossed that they can get him to crack in the next one…
Fast and Furious 11 is slated to be released in 2027.

Strictly star investigated over drug use on show 'also suspected of drinking'

The BBC has reportedly launched a probe to investigate claims of cocaine use by two stars of Strictly Come Dancing, with a fresh claim one of the stars involved was also drinking on the show. According to The Sun, a celebrity has alleged that it was 'well known on the show that two stars took cocaine.' In response to the allegations, BBC bosses are said to have launched an enquiry using external lawyers. The claims were reportedly made in March by law firm Russells, on behalf of former contestant and opera singer Wynne Evans. According to the tabloid, other sources have also reported allegations of drug use to the BBC. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your show in the link we'll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you. The publication has since reported that one of the stars involved in the probe was also suspected of drinking, after other cast and crew smelled alcohol on their breath. A TV insider told the tabloid: 'The person in question is renowned for loving to party. 'On a very physical show like Strictly, with lots of sets and moving parts, the idea of someone being intoxicated in any way is wholly unacceptable.' The publication also claimed that the BBC was set to offer the two stars involved in the drugs probe the opportunity to attend rehab. A BBC spokesperson previously told Metro: 'We have clear protocols and policies in place for dealing with any serious complaint raised with us.' Of the claims, the BBC's spokesperson continued: 'We would always encourage people to speak to us if they have concerns. 'It would not be appropriate for us to comment further.' As a part of the probe, former contestants, cast and crew alike will all be given the opportunity to speak to law firm Pinsent Masons about their concerns. This comes as a celebrity source told The Sun that it is 'well known on the show that two stars took cocaine…it was talked about widely among the cast'. Meanwhile, one Strictly star allegedly described another person on the show as being 'off their face.' The Sun has not named the stars who have been accused of taking cocaine. This comes at a fraught time for the BBC – and less than a year after its investigation into allegations of bullying on the Strictly set concluded. A probe was launched into claims of misconduct by professional Giovanni Pernice, who was forced to step down amid claims that he had bullied actress Amanda Abbington during their rehearsals together. After months of investigating, the BBC upheld two moments of 'inappropriate behaviour of sexual banter in the workplace' The investigation uncovered no findings relating to physical aggression, but complaints of verbal bullying and harassment were upheld, according to the PA news agency. More recently, the BBC dropped former Strictly contestant Wynne Evans from his BBC Wales rolling contract after a series of controversies. The singer sparked furore when his professional dance partner Katya Jones appeared to move his hand from her waist – which he said was .just a body language experiment that was picked up on'. The pair maintained that this was a 'silly joke' which had simply misfired, but the opera singer was struck with more controversy when reports emerged that he'd made an 'unacceptable joke' about Strictly Live host Janette Manrara. More Trending Evans subsequently apologised, describing himself as 'deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate action caused' and would take a break from the public eye for 'self-reflection' and to 'prioritise my wellbeing'. Inside Jay Blades' career as The Repair Shop host charged with rape

From his early struggles growing up on a Hackney council estate after leaving school at the age of 15 with no qualifications, Jay Blades defied the odds to become one of TV's unlikely stars. The 55-year-old, known for his charming presence, became a household name after The Repair Shop launched on BBC One eight years ago. Through his work with disadvantaged youth and his charity efforts and restoration work, he was awarded an MBE by the future King Charles back in 2022 for his services to craft. But despite his rags to riches story, Blades was charged last year with engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, with allegations coming from his estranged wife, Lisa Marie Zbozen, which he appeared in court for today. Yesterday, he was then accused of two counts of rape by the police. From his role as a TV personality to his family life and recent allegations, Metro takes an inside look at Blades' fall from grace. Blades first hosted The Repair Shop in 2017 when it was launched by the BBC. Members of the public brought their treasured possessions, some of which had been passed down through generations, to be fixed. The show began in a daytime slot, but was later moved to primetime after it became a hit. In 2023, The Repair Shop won a National Television Award and a BAFTA for its royal special, where the future King Charles took a clock and vase to the workshop. This all came after Blades' difficult childhood that saw him grow up in poverty in East London after his father abandoned his mother, before he was left homeless in his twenties. As well as presenting The Repair Shop, Blades is known for Money for Nothing, Jay Blades' Home Fix and Jay and Dom's Home Fix. Outside of presenting, the 55-year-old has appeared on a number of shows, including Would I Lie to You?, Celebrity Masterchef, Richard Osman's House of Games, The Wheel, and The Graham Norton Show. In 2021, he filmed a documentary for BBC One called Jay Blades: Learning to Read at 51, which charted his journey with dyslexia and how he enrolled in university as a mature student to study criminology but was diagnosed with the reading ability of an 11-year-old. Since then he has filmed several more documentaries about his childhood and where he grew up, including Jay Blades: No Place Like Home and Jay Blades' East End Through Time. Most recently, he has appeared alongside Sir David Jason and Dame Judi Dench in two separate series. Blades' first wife was Jade, who is the mother of one of his three children, two of which he has had from previous relationships. After meeting at university, he and Jade married and had a daughter before separating in 2015. He then went on to have a four-year relationship with Christine Goodman before meeting his second wife Lisa Zbozen, who works as a fitness instructor. They both married in November 2022 in Barbados, a year after their engagement. In May 2024, however, Lisa revealed they had separated. Back in September last year, Blades was charged with controlling and coercive behaviour against Zbozen, including physical and emotional abuse He then appeared at Worcester Crown Court on October 11 and entered a not guilty plea. More Trending The judge confirmed that Blades remained prohibited from approaching or contacting his wife under an existing exclusion order. Originally, a trial was expected to take place in May this year, but it was moved to August. Now, the presenter has been charged with two counts of rape. Got a story? Jo Whiley reveals music icons who left her feeling 'tiny and stupid'

Not all celebrity interactions leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling – as Jo Whiley knows only too well after one 'really unpleasant experience'. The radio presenter revealed how, when she once interviewed Eminem and Dr Dre, she left with her confidence in pieces. Speaking about being starstruck on her Dig It podcast with Zoe Ball, the Radio 2 star, 60, shared details of the 'horrible' interview. 'I remember interviewing Eminem and Dr Dre one time and that was horrible,' she began. 'I'd interviewed Eminem when he was very young and he was very shy and polite. He kept calling me 'ma'am' all the time and he was really, really sweet and humble.' However, once fame had hit around the beginning of the 00s, Marshall Mathers became less timid and seemingly less pleasant. Jo shared: 'A couple of years later he came back on the show but with Dr Dre and the fame had happened and he was just this other creature altogether. 'They were just so playful with me – and can I just say they made me feel so tiny and so stupid.' The interaction 'stands out' among all Jo's other interviews as she 'did not enjoy that' but admitted outside of music she does sometimes get starstruck. Monty Don, broadcaster and horticulturalist, sprang to mind as someone she was keen to impress as well as Dame Mary Berry and Will Ferrell. 'You can have a normal conversation with Paul Weller but can you speak to Mary Berry without tripping over your words? No you cannot,' she laughed. Jo has previously opened up about struggling with anxiety during her career, particularly in the 90s when she was DJing. Speaking to Woman's Health, she shared: 'I remember doing one gig and I was just so scared, I thought I can't go on like this. This is ridiculous. 'It's ruining my life because I'm just such a ball of anxiety. More Trending 'But then I realised how happy it was making people when I do these gigs and that was a game changer.' She called it a 'ludicrous' time to be a woman as 'objectification and judgement of women and their bodies' was rife. 'I just kept my head down and weathered the storm,' Jo added. Metro has reached out to Dr Dre and Eminem's reps for comment. Got a story?
