Jamie Laing ignores 'best pal' Spencer Matthews' marathon triumph amid feud rumours
Jamie Laing ignored his Made In Chelsea co-star Spencer Matthews' marathon success at the weekend amid rumours of a feud between the pair. Spencer, 36, who previously referred to Jamie, 36, as his "best friend" completed the London Marathon with a personal best and took to Instagram saying he "couldn't be happier".
Many of the reality star's famous friends flocked to congratulate him on his triumph, including former Union J star and marathon participant, Josh Cuthbert, who said: "Incredible effort, mate". However, Jamie, who completed his own gruelling marathon challenge for Comic Relief in March, neither commented on or liked the post.
Spencer, who last year completed 30 marathons in 30 days across the Jordanian desert, thanked everyone for their support in his message, in which he proudly revealed he'd finished the marathon in under three hours.
However, the dad-of-three failed to turn up at the finish line in Salford to congratulate Jamie after the former reality star ran 150 miles over five days and raised more than £2 million for charity in March.
Jamie and Spencer have been best friends since joining E4's smash-hit Made in Chelsea show in the second series in 2011.
However, after a surprise fallout before Jamie's wedding to Sophie Habboo was publicly aired in 2023, many are wondering whether the pals will ever make up.
While Spencer did attend Jamie's June wedding to Sophie in Spain, he wasn't present at the legal ceremony in London two months earlier and was seen on holiday in Portugal with his family instead.
When fans expressed their surprise that he had chosen to swerve the invite and jet off abroad, he used his podcast with wife Vogue to give his side of the story, admitting he was "p***ed off".
Complaining he was being "hammered" for his no-show, Spencer said: "I'm being hammered for 'snubbing' my best friend's wedding to go on holiday, and then posting about my holiday.
"I'm not here to b***h about my best friends but there's been some serious miscommunication from him." He continued: "I just want to set the record straight, more than anything. I'm not here to whinge.
"I was not invited to this part of Jamie's wedding, and neither was Vogue."
He added that he was "p***ed off" he didn't receive an invite and claimed he would have "flown to Japan" in order to attend. Vogue shared: "Sophie looked absolutely magnificent, we were absolutely thrilled for them, but we also did not know it was happening because we were not invited.'"
Vogue revealed that in all her years of knowing Spencer, she had never seen him so upset over the mix-up, saying: "He was very upset, I have to be honest, I've never seen him like that."
However, Jamie did take full responsibility as he said on his podcast with Sophie - alongside Vogue and Spencer: "I f****d up. We had our wedding, our civil ceremony in the UK. It was a hectic process. Amongst the hectic-ness of getting people there and things like that, I thought Spencer and Vogue were away.
"Spencer got upset - which is fair enough. So I sent Vogue a message hoping to get a bit of support and then she replied 'To be honest Jamie, it's not good.' And I was like 'f***'." His bride-to-be Sophie asked if the couple were coming to their big day, and Jamie had to revealed he failed to invite them as he knew they had booked a holiday.
Spencer replied: "To be honest, Jamie, like you're my best friend in the world. Which is why I think it hurt so much. Like if it was anyone else. For your wedding – I would fly three times around the world to come to it because I care about you so much."
While it seemed the pair had drawn a line under their differences, things between them haven't been the same since. Their podcast 6 Degrees came to an abrupt end in November, with reports claiming Vogue had been keen to pull the plug.
The silence around Jamie's Comic Relief challenge also sparked rumours of a floundering friendship as a source claimed to Daily Mail: "Jamie's run is perhaps the biggest thing he will ever do in his life – surely he must be missing his friend.
"You now have to wonder what has happened to cause a change in their relationship. Whatever went on, it caused a lot of friction. It's still being referred to amongst their unforgiving circle."

Meghan Markle warned 'it's time to move on' after move that will surprise Palace
Meghan Markle has been pressing ahead with her As Ever lifestyle brand while building her Instagram following - but one expert has a stark warning for her Meghan Markle has left the Royal Family firmly behind her as she builds her business empire. Five years after she and Prince Harry dramatically quit as working royals, she is now growing her As Ever lifestyle brand as well as her Instagram following with a string of never-before-seen snaps and videos. But despite the days of royal duties being long gone, Meghan does continue to use one thing from her former life - her royal title, the Duchess of Sussex. Not only that, she recently raised eyebrows when it emerged she had also used her HRH title on a note in a gift basket to a friend. According to royal expert Jennie Bond, Meghan has appeared to become a shrewd operator as she ploughs forward with her business, which will no doubt help to fund the Sussexes' enviable lifestyle. But writing in The Sun, the former BBC royal correspondent says it's now time for her to stop using her royal title in her money-making ventures. She explained: "To try to cling to the vestiges of her blink-of-an-eye time as a working royal is disingenuous. So, Meghan, how about dropping the Duchess nonsense and the HRH which you are no longer entitled to use? Be independent and successful. "Make your As Ever brand bigger than ever on your own. You tried being part of the Royal Family and hated it. Time to move on, which, I think, is what this is all about." It comes as Meghan as made a huge U-turn in a new announcement about restocking her As Ever products, including her jam. In an Instagram post last week, she promised that her goods would be back in stock later this month and teased other new items, saying there would be "a few new things we can't wait to show you". The about-turn came just hours after she was heard telling Beyoncé's mother that she had decided to "just pause" until she was completely ready. Meghan appeared on her own podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, yesterday, recorded in May, telling Tina Knowles she feared annoying customers when the first batch of her jam and herbal teas sold out in less than an hour. She said she wanted to wait until it was "completely stable and we have everything we need". However, just hours later, Meghan shared a photo of jam-making preparations including bowls of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, and freshly squeezed lemons, on her Instagram stories, writing: "June gloom?' Not over here! Because this month your favourite products are back." Her official As Ever account also posted: "To all who've been wondering and waiting, thank you. Your favourites are returning, plus a few NEW things we can't wait to show you. Coming this month…get excited!" Meghan's range includes flower sprinkles, which she used liberally during her Netflix lifestyle show, and raspberry spread, a crepe mix, wildflower honey and an assortment of herbal teas. She renamed her brand from American Riviera Orchard after running into trademark issues.
