Oasis death: Tragic post from Lee Claydon's brother before fatal fall at Wembley
A heartbreaking Facebook post reveals the excitement a family of Oasis fans felt before one of them tragically died in a fall at the band's gig on Saturday night.
Aaron Claydon, brother of beloved dad Lee Claydon, said 'today is gonna be the day', a reference to the Oasis smash-hit 'Wonderwall'. He tagged his brother and other family members in the post.
Lee Claydon, 41, was pronounced dead at the scene at Wembley Stadium on Saturday having suffered 'injuries consistent with a fall'. Since the incident, Aaron set up a GoFundMe page in honour of his brother and to help with financial support for his family. It comes after a man brutally kills a woman on first date and leave her body parts around town.
In a touching tribute, Aaron said his brother was the person he 'always looked up to' and that their family has been 'turned upside down' by his death. The family including his partner Amanda is 'struggling to deal with this devastation and unexpected loss", Aaron said
He wrote: 'Lee leaves behind his Son, Dad, Partner , Brothers, Sisters, Nephews and Niece. Lee was a loving family man who was a role model to his son Harry and was loved so much by all his family.
'Lee would have done anything for any of us and he was taken from us far too soon and we will miss him so very much. Lee loved all outdoor activities, one of his favourite hobbies was fishing. He also loved music and his guitar. He also really enjoyed going to watch and support the boys and his nephew at their football games.
"Amanda and the boys have our full support at this very sad time which is why we would love to be able to help them financially as well as emotionally. Please help us raise as much funds as we can to take one worry off Amanda and family right now as they are going through any family's worst nightmare."
Paying tribute to the dad on Facebook, his cousin Shannon Gabrielle said: "Honestly don't even know what words to write right now. My cousin Lee tragically passed away this weekend after no doubt having the time of his life at the Oasis concert this weekend, most will have seen snippets in the news I'm sure & as you can imagine it has devastated the whole family and for his closest knit family unit it's the toughest time they are going through ever right now.'
"Sharing his go fund me page, in the hope that any donations, big or small, will go a long way towards helping his partner Amanda & the boys throughout this awful period and costs of things. You just don't fathom you will go out for a night of amazing fun & not come home at the end of it."
Oasis fans took to Facebook after the gig. The parent of one gig-goer said her teenage son "saw him falling" but was too far away to see him land. Another woman said the man fell into their block and described what happened 'awful'. Claire Collier wrote: "It happened about [five] mins before the end of the gig, it was awful... thinking of his family and friends and everyone that witnessed it."
During the Sunday gig, Oasis dedicated Live Forever to 'all the people who can't be here tonight'. The touching moment came as the Manchester band brought to a close their first run of five gigs at the venue as part of their Live 25 tour.
Addressing fans on Sunday night after finishing Whatever, singer Liam Gallagher said: 'This one's for all the people who can't be here tonight, but who are here if you know what I mean, and aren't they looking lovely. Live Forever.'
A spokesperson for Wembley Stadium said on Sunday: 'Last night, Wembley Stadium medics, the London Ambulance Service and the police attended to a concert-goer who was found with injuries consistent with a fall.'
A spokesperson for the stadium has since told the Mirror: 'Wembley Stadium operates to a very high health and safety standard, fully meeting legal requirements for the safety of spectators and staff, and is certified to and compliant with the ISO 45001 standard. We work very closely and collaboratively with all relevant event delivery stakeholders - including event owners, local authorities, the Sports Ground Safety Authority and the police - to deliver events to high standards of safety, security and service for everyone attending or working in the venue.'

The Terry's Chocolate Orange is a British staple. While they're often reserved for stockings at Christmas, the treat is available all year round. And though many fans insist you 'can't beat' the original flavour, that hasn't stopped Terry's from trying. From mint chocolate balls to chocolate orange truffles and white chocolate treats, the chocolate brand has tested a range of new flavours over the years. And now it's teasing a 'top secret' new recipe – but fans are convinced they already know what it is. Terry's shared the news on its Instagram account with a picture of a golden envelope. Some were on board with the potential new flavour. User @amy_f_wills said that while the original chocolate orange 'cannot be beaten', the 'only other flavour worth doing is pistachio.' When did Oasis last play at Murrayfield as Britpop icons come to Edinburgh in days?
Oasis are making a long-awaited return to Scotland in just a matter of days. On August 8, 9, and 12, Liam and Noel Gallagher - and the rest of the band - will perform north of the border once more. It's been 16 long years since the Britpop icons played in Scotland - so this run of gigs are highly anticipated. Oasis kicked off their reunion tour in Cardiff on July 4. They then headed to Heaton Park in Manchester for a five-night series of hometown shows. They are currently in the midst of a run at Wembley in London, with our reporter Fionnuala Boyle making the trip to the UK capital for one of the shows. Once they finish up at Wembley, it's Scotland's turn. More than 200,000 music fans will descend on Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh over the trio of shows.
