Quebec has been hit by heavy downpours caused by severe thunderstorms, with more than 150 millimetres of rain per hour falling in the hardest-hit areas.
In less than an hour, Montréal-Trudeau Airport recorded 57.5 mm of rain.
At the peak of the storm, Hydro-Québec reported that nearly 100,000 customers were without electricity across the province.
Some Montreal neighbourhoods recorded up to 80 mm of rain in a short period leading to flash flooding in several areas.
