Coca-Cola discontinues Vanilla Zero in UK supermarkets

Rhyl Journal30-07-2025
It seems Coca-Cola Vanilla Zero has begun disappearing from shop shelves and won't be returning for now, The Sun has said.
The fizzy low-calorie drink is flavoured with the sweet and creamy spice of vanilla and was available to buy in 2-litre and 500ml bottles, as well as 330ml cans.
Concerns were raised after someone asked @CocaCola_GB on X: 'Is it true that Coke Zero Vanilla is being discontinued from your range in the UK as supplies are very difficult to find? Signed Coke Zero Vanilla lover!'
Over the last few months, many Coca-Cola Vanilla Zero fans have taken to Reddit to share their worries too, as the drink had become 'so hard to find'.
This person posted in the r/cocacola subreddit: 'Why is Vanilla coke so hard to find in the uk?
'Even tried ordering it from cocacola's own website only for it to be out of stock. I'm aware some are in stock on amazon, but they aren't in the size I want.'
However, one argued this may be because it's 'not produced' in the UK.
Since arriving in the UK in 2002, this isn't the first time the product has been reportedly discontinued over the years, as it has made multiple reappearances.
At the time of writing, a 24 x 330ml pack of Coca-Cola Vanilla Zero is not available to buy at Asda, and Sainsbury's isn't stocking the drink either.
Luckily for those wanting to get their hands on the product, some supermarkets, including Tesco and Morrisons, are still selling 2-litre bottles for £2.15.
This isn't uncommon to see when an item is axed, as shops try to sell remaining stock before it disappears, The Sun explains.
Within the last year, Coca-Cola Vanilla Zero isn't the only flavour to have been axed.
Last year, the company was forced to apologise after confirming two drinks had been dropped from its range.

The soft drink giant revealed Coca-Cola Cherry Vanilla and Diet Coke with Splenda were both discontinued in a decision that came as a result of changing "consumer taste preferences".
Other discontinued Coca-Cola drinks over the years include Caffeine Free Coca-Cola and Coke II (also known as New Coke).

Tower Air Fryers sold at Tesco, Argos, Lidl & more recalled

The Air Fryers are at risk of overheating, which can cause fires and result in them igniting during use. Six models of Tower air fryers are affected by the recall, all in black. They have been sold at a number of retailers including Tesco, Lidl, Argos, B&M, DID, Poundland, Robert Dyas and the Tower Housewares website. These are the models impacted by the recall: A spokesman for the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) warned that the air fryers did not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016. If you're riding an e-scooter, remember: lithium-ion batteries can pose a fire risk. 🔥 Only use manufacturer-approved batteries and chargers 🔥 Never buy from untrusted sellers 🔥 Get professional help for conversions 🔗 Learn more: They explained: 'The product presents a risk of fire as it can overheat and ignite during use. 'The product has been recalled from end users. Owners of affected products should stop using the product immediately and unplug it. 'For further information, including checking if your product is affected and registering your product for a refund or replacement, please access the Tower Housewares webpage.' Some Tower Air Fryers sold at Sainsbury's stores across the UK were also recently recalled. The Air Fryers affected by the Tower recall have SKUs of 141407023 and 139987372, and both the 2.2 litre and 4 litre Tower Air Fryer are included in the recall. A Sainsbury's spokesman said: 'We have been requested by Tower to alert you to a product recall impacting three Tower branded air fryers produced between January 2022 to April 2023. 'A small number of units have been identified as having a potential manufacturing default that could cause the air fryer to overheat and pose a fire risk. 'Please stop using the item immediately, and check if you have an affected product by locating the product number on the base of the air fryer. 'Once you have identified that your product is impacted. Please visit to see if the batch number means it is included in the recall. 'If it is, follow the instruction on how to return your affected product. We take the quality and safety of our products extremely seriously and would like to apologise to customers affected for any inconvenience this may cause. 'No other batches are affected by this recall.'

UK train service to relaunch first class for the first time in 23 years with comfier seats and more charging ports

The train company isn't the only one that previously ditched first class seating FIRST IN LINE UK train service to relaunch first class for the first time in 23 years with comfier seats and more charging ports Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) ONE UK train company is bringing back its first class seats for the first time in over two decades. With comfortable seats, large windows and huge tables, these will be offered as an on-the-day upgrade for a journey that's a tad more luxurious. Chiltern Railway is introducing newer trains to its network, called the Mark 5A train. After 23 years, Chiltern Railways is bringing back first class carriages on its newest trains which will operate between London Marylebone to Stourbridge Junction in 2026. Seats in the first class carriages will be offered as an on-the-day so travellers can upgrade to a more spacious seat. How an on-the-day upgrade works is that passengers pay the difference between a standard class ticket and first class fare at a ticket office before the journey or in some cases on the train. You can also buy a first class ticket in advance when the trains are officially introduced. The pictures of the new first class carriages show wide and comfy looking seats that have a winged headrest and large tables. Once the new fleet is rolled out Chiltern Railways said the trains will have more standard-class seats than today. Other features across the new trains include plug sockets and USB ports at every seat, free Wi-Fi and digital information screens to track your journeys progress. There will be automated onboard air conditioning that reacts to outdoor temperatures so you shouldn't ever be too cold or hot. 'This is nice' says Irish Rail passenger as she shows off new train carriages after they hit tracks 5 The standard class looks good too with seating and overhead storage Credit: chris roberts 5 Between the seats are charging and USB ports Credit: chris roberts Seat back tables will be able to fold town and there will be extendable sections for larger devices. For more storage, there are overhead luggage racks in every carriage, and onboard there will be dedicated storage for six bikes. Plus, certain passengers will be able to use the dedicated accessible areas complete with companion seating and hearing loop. Chiltern Railways scrapped its first class seats decades ago and discontinued its business zone, which offered an on-board upgrade, in March 2020. In recent years there has been a lack of demand for first class tickets which are generally more expensive, but price varies depending on whether it's in peak or off-peak journeys. Several other train operators have eliminated first class since 2020 including London Northwestern Railway, Southeastern and Stansted Express. Read here to find out where you can find the country's most beautiful train journey which takes 10 minutes and costs £3. Plus, one of Europe's most beautiful train stations could soon get direct routes from the UK.
