McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown has described the Hungarian Grand Prix as a race that "was as close to perfect as you can get," after Lando Norris secured his fifth victory of the season, followed by Oscar Piastri in P2. The race win marked McLaren's 200th Grand Prix victory.
Brown lauded the team for its flawless pit stops, commendable race strategy, and some hard yet clean racing between the two McLaren drivers in the final laps of the race at the Hungaroring.
Charles Leclerc started the race on pole position and maintained a strong lead. However, Norris's one-stop strategy took away Leclerc's lead when he pitted the second time. Soon after, the Ferrari driver's pace dropped significantly due to a problem with his SF-25's chassis.
Despite starting from P3 and cruising with hard tires older than 30 laps, Norris maintained consistent lap times. However, Piastri's new set of hard compounds in the last leg of the race helped him cover the eight-odd-second gap to Norris. McLaren had given both its drivers the green signal to contend for the race win, but the instructions were clear that the fight had to be clean.

Eventually, Norris crossed the finish line first and closed the gap to his championship leader teammate to just 9 points.
Speaking on the race that will stay on the minds of many, especially with the onset of the summer break, Brown stated that there could be no other way to end the first half of the 2025 season. He told Sky Sports F1:
"Everyone will sleep well tonight - great way to go into the summer break. You're never perfect in a race but I think that was as close to perfect as you can get.
"The drivers were awesome, pit stops amazing, strategy was great to get Lando up there, Oscar drove brilliantly. I couldn't be prouder of this racing team.
"All under control. I had some good chats with Andrea [Stella] during the race, it was very exciting. It was a great Grand Prix.
"With Lando's first lap, we weren't planning a one-stop strategy, we didn't know if we could but then it got to a point where let's try. Knew it would come down to the last five laps there and good to see them race very hard, very clean and they're both happy boys."
Brown also addressed the difference in race strategies, pointing to Piastri's preference to race his teammate. He added:
"We were talking to Oscar on the radio on if he wanted to race Lando or Charles. He wanted to race Lando which was understandable.
"You just had two different strategies that converged and it couldn't have been closer. Oscar was faster at the end and just couldn't get by.
"Unlike Silverstone when Oscar was obviously disappointed he didn't win, I think here he understands everyone gave it their best shot."

Steelers Receiver Gets Wake Up Call From Aaron Rodgers
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Pittsburgh Steelers legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers is heading into the final season of his illustrious NFL career. He's hoping to end his career on top of the league with a storybook run to the Super Bowl. In order to make that kind of run, the future Hall of Fame quarterback is going to need the offense to step up around him. Granted, Rodgers is no longer the elite superstar that he once was. However, he's still more than capable of playing at a high level and leading a team to potential contention. His numbers were still better than many quarterbacks around the league. Read more: Browns HC Makes Major QB Announcement At the top of the Steelers' wide receiver depth chart is DK Metcalf. He was acquired in a blockbuster offseason trade to give Rodgers an elite No. 1 weapon. That being said, there are some major questions at wide receiver behind Metcalf. Currently, Pittsburgh has Calvin Austin II, Robert Woods, and Roman Wilson as its next best options. Those three players could be quality targets for Rodgers, but that is not a proven concept at this point in time. With that in mind, Rodgers spoke out on Wednesday and sent a very pointed message to Wilson. "I need to get Roman out of his own head a bit," Rodgers said. "He cares so much about whether it's my approval or he's doing it right. He's just got to trust himself because he's so damn talented." Obviously, that is not the kind of quote that a young wideout wants to hear from Rodgers. The veteran quarterback has always had some level of frustration with young wide receivers dating back to his time with the Green Bay Packers. The Steelers have a one-year window with Rodgers and they will do whatever it takes to compete for a championship in 2025. Perhaps the team could still look into signing a free agent like Amari Cooper. Or, if they choose to stick with the group they've put together, they need Wilson to step up. Right now, it sure doesn't sound like Rodgers is incredibly happy with where his connection is at with the young wideout. IndyCar says it was unaware of DHS's use of AI-generated image featuring ICE branding
IndyCar said they were not aware of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) plan to release an AI-generated image of an IndyCar featuring U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) branding. The image was shared on DHS social media on Tuesday after the department's announcement of a new immigration detention center 40 miles north of the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home of the Indianapolis 500. In a statement to ABC News, the racing authority said that "consistent with our approach to public policy and political issues, we are communicating our preference that our IP not be utilized moving forward in relation to this matter." DHS didn't immediately respond to ABC News' request for comment on IndyCar's response. The image that was shared across DHS's social media accounts shows a car sporting the number 5, the same number used by Mexican driver Pato O'Ward of McLaren. Neither O'Ward nor McLaren have commented on the image. Nicknamed the "Speedway Slammer" by DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, the planned Indiana detention center would house 1,000 beds and is part of the administration's broader push to "remove the worst of the worst," Noem said. In an interview with Fox and Friends on Wednesday, Noem teased that more centers would be announced soon, modeled after Florida's "Alligator Alcatraz," which opened earlier this year and has been the .

Davante Adams Casts Doubt on Travis Hunter's NFL Future
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The 2025 NFL season will feature quite a few intriguing storylines. One of the most intriguing will be attached to Jacksonville Jaguars rookie and No. 2 overall pick Travis Hunter. Hunter will be attempting to play both sides of the football like he did during his college career. He plays both wide receiver and cornerback. At least for now, the Jaguars are giving it a shot. Playing both sides of the football is not common. Hunter would be one of the first to be successful at it should he be able to pull off the impressive feat. Read more: Peyton Manning Doesn't Hold Back About Denver Broncos One current superstar wide receiver, Davante Adams of the Los Angeles Rams, recently spoke out with his thoughts on the matter. He doesn't see playing both ways working out for Hunter. During an appearance on the "Pivot" podcast, Adams made his thoughts clear. "I don't even think it's possible to do, for real," Adams said. "Not at a high level. Once you get out there playing both sides, now you have to tackle. You've got to tackle Derrick Henry with that frame." Adams makes a good point. Thinking about Hunter trying to take down Derrick Henry does not sound like a pretty sight. However, he is going to give it a shot. Plenty of fans took to the comments section to share their opinions on the matter. What Are NFL Fans Saying? "Ask cooper dejean about how to tackle Derek Henry - it's about technique not how big you are," one fan wrote. Another chimed in, "He won't be able. I think what will happen is if he's needed he can play it." "Davante is just keeping it real," a third comment read. A fourth fan said, "Coming from a realistic place... but doesn't need to be said... Give the kid a chance to prove everyone right/wrong." Read more: Packers QB Jordan Love Sounds Off on Rookie Teammate It will be interesting to see what Hunter is able to do on both sides of the football during his rookie season. He won the Heisman Trophy last year with the Colorado Buffaloes in his final college season. Throughout the 2024 season with Colorado, Hunter racked up 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns as a wide receiver. Defensively, he totaled 35 tackles, a forced fumble, four interceptions, and 11 defended passes. Hunter doesn't let doubters bother him. Now, he simply has an NFL star to prove wrong.
