Holiday mistake that could cost you thousands
When you're away on holiday, it's incredibly tempting to share updates with everyone back home. However, that innocent photo of your hotel room or boarding pass could potentially cost you thousands if you're not cautious.
According to Forum Insurance, posting real-time social media updates might invalidate your home insurance should you fall victim to burglary whilst away. This stems from "reasonable care" provisions included in numerous policies, reports the Express.
Insurance companies may contend that publicly announcing your home is empty constitutes negligence.
Niraj Mamtora, Director and Home Insurance Expert at Forum Insurance, explained that criminals have become far more sophisticated nowadays.
He stated: "Burglars aren't just casing streets anymore, they're scrolling through Instagram stories and Facebook timelines.
"With this in mind, insurers expect policyholders to take reasonable care to protect their property, and that now includes being cautious about what you share online."
"For example, posting 'Off to Greece for two weeks!' could be considered negligence under policy terms, similar to leaving doors unlocked."
Even sharing within private groups offers no protection, he warned: "Screenshots can circulate, and insurers may argue you didn't sufficiently limit audience access.
"Many insurers include clauses requiring policyholders to 'take care to prevent loss.'
If you publicly broadcast your holiday plans, insurers could argue you breached this duty. Always assume anything shared online, even privately, could be seen by criminals."
Niraj warns that even innocent-looking posts can alert criminals: "They often monitor public profiles or send fake friend requests to gain access to private posts.
"Even something as simple as tagging yourself at the airport or sharing a boarding pass photo can give criminals a clear window of opportunity."
To protect yourself from criminals while on holiday, there are several precautions you can take.
Niraj advises checking your insurance policy for clauses like "reasonable care" or "unforced entry", and suggests waiting until you're back home before posting holiday snaps.
It's also wise to set your social media accounts to private, regularly review your friends list, and decline friend requests from people you don't know.

UK's most mysterious place where deer will greet you in beautiful yet eerie setting
A number of people who have visited the bone caves have been greeted by deer, with the area being labelled one of the 'most mysterious and magical' in the UK The UK boasts an array of breathtaking walks, but the Scottish Highlands are particularly noteworthy. Here, you can traverse mountain paths, skirt around lochs, and explore caves or the remnants of ancient castles. One path leads to the ominously named 'bone caves. Situated in Assynt, close to Inchnadamph, the bone caves have been dubbed one of the "most mysterious and magical places" in the UK. The discovery of lynx, reindeer, and polar bear bones within these caves is a testament to their past inhabitants, despite these species no longer roaming the region. Comprising four natural limestone caves set into the high limestone cliff face of Creag nan Uamh (Crag of the Caves), they stretch about five metres deep and are just tall enough for an average person to stand upright. These caves were once part of a larger system that has since been worn away by erosion as the valley deepened, leaving only a few intact today, reports the Express. First documented in 1889 by Geologists Peach and Horne, the caves' true treasures weren't unearthed until 1928 when J. E. Cree conducted excavations. Cree's exploration yielded a bear tooth, human skeletons, antlers, among other artefacts. Many of these discoveries from the caves are now exhibited at the Royal Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. To access the caves, provides a route that begins at a car park on the A837 between Elphin and Inchnadamph. Several visitors have shared their experiences on TripAdvisor. One review reads: "Amazing walk, amazing scenery and a real sense of atmosphere when you arrive at the bone caves. Fairly easy most of the way, a few rocky areas." Another wrote: "This is a great walk, only takes about 1hour each way. Should have a stick and good shoes for walking but otherwise very simple walk. Certainly recommend this if in the area, really pretty walk and great views from the caves." While a third visitor commented: "These are a set of natural pre-Ice Age caves set high in a limestone cliff, where a large number of animal bones were discovered during excavation (hence the name). "It's a beautiful trail through a deep, secluded valley with a steep climb up to the caves followed by a sharp vertigo-inducing descent right along the edge of the cliff back to the valley. We were greeted by a deer at the end of our walk!"

Tourists urged 'don't wear' two items at airport or risk delays
Your airport outfit might not seem like a big deal – but could actually need to get delayed if you're not careful. Here's everything you need to know about travel attire Many of us spend hours agonising about what to pack for our holidays. However, we're not so careful about what we are wearing to the airport. It might not seem like a big deal – but getting it wrong could actually lead to you getting delayed. Jetpac 's Pearlyn Yeo, with a hefty Instagram following of over 20,000 on the company platform, has given pointers on what not to don at the airport. So here's everything you need to know... The travel expert explained: "Keeping sunglasses on or wearing headphones through passport control can cause unnecessary delays and stress. These accessories can make it harder for border agents and automated systems to confirm your identity or get your attention. "Both facial recognition gates and human officers rely on clear eye contact and unobstructed facial features. Sunglasses can interfere with the technology and an officer's ability to assess your behaviour and demeanour. "Headphones, on the other hand, can distract you and mean you miss important instructions - both of which can slow down the process." Pearlyn added: "Most security staff will ask you to remove these items or stop using devices, so it will only add to your journey time and stress if you're not prepared. "With this in mind, it's best to remove headphones, pack away phones and tablets and pop your sunglasses safely away before you reach security, passport control or immigration. "In doing so, you're more likely to breeze through border control and you won't have to worry about unnecessary delays or stress." What to wear at the airport 1. Comfortable Clothing Loose-fitting pants or leggings: Avoid anything too tight or restrictive, especially for long flights. T-shirt, long-sleeve top, or breathable sweater: Layering is helpful as temperatures can vary. Lightweight jacket or cardigan: Airports and airplanes can be chilly. 2. Easy-to-Remove Shoes Slip-on sneakers, loafers, or flats are ideal for quickly taking off and putting on at security. Avoid shoes with lots of laces, buckles, or high heels. 3. Minimal Accessories Keep jewelry and belts to a minimum for easier security screening. Use a crossbody bag or backpack for hands-free convenience. 4. Socks Wear socks, even with slip-on shoes, for warmth and hygiene when removing shoes at security. 5. Scarf or Pashmina A large scarf can double as a blanket or pillow on the plane.
