Rajasthan govt boosting civil aviation sector to promote tourism: Minister
Key reforms include the reduction of VAT on aviation fuel for Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) flights from 26 per cent to just 1 per cent.
Speaking at the Northern Region Civil Aviation Ministers' Conference held in Dehradun, Dak highlighted that the state has provided free and obstruction-free land to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for the construction of the Kota Greenfield Airport and for the development and expansion of Kishangarh Airport.
'Similar land allocations are under process for the expansion of Udaipur Airport and the construction of a civil enclave at Uttarlai (Barmer),' he said.
Highlighting Rajasthan's growing potential in helicopter services, Dak informed that there are currently 118 helipads across the state, with new helipads being developed at all district headquarters, major tourist sites, and locations critical for emergency medical response.
'Plans for helicopter-based tourism, religious travel, and joy rides are being formulated, alongside the development of a helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) model,' he claimed.
He urged the Centre to assist in creating a viable operational model and standard protocols for such services. Dak also identified districts such as Udaipur, Kota (Chambal), Banswara, and Tonk (Bisalpur) as promising sites for seaplane operations.
He requested the Central government to assess their feasibility and include them under the RCS scheme.
The Minister underlined the strategic importance of the RCS for Rajasthan, a state known for its rich heritage, religious tourism, industrial zones, and educational institutions. RCS flights currently operate from three airports in the state.
'The government has submitted a proposal to the Centre to include key destinations such as Mount Abu, Sikar, Sawai Madhopur, Bhilwara, and Sri Ganganagar under the RCS umbrella,' he said.
To enhance connectivity with major metros, Dak also requested the Central Government to initiate regular commercial flights from Bikaner, Jodhpur, and Kishangarh to cities including Mumbai, Kolkata, Surat, and Bengaluru.
Rajasthan currently has 19 airstrips, with lengths ranging from 3,300 feet to 9,800 feet. These facilities are being leveraged for flying training organisations (FTOs), air sports, and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) activities.
The state is promoting private investment in aviation through the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme (RIPS) and the successful hosting of the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, he said
'An operational FTO in Kishangarh is already training pilots, and a second FTO is set to begin in Bhilwara in August 2025. So far, over 10 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) have been signed, with an estimated investment inflow of Rs 1,500 crore in the aviation sector,' he claimed.
The Minister emphasised that the state government has implemented a comprehensive Civil Aviation Policy in 2024, aimed at the planned and sustainable development of the aviation sector.
He sought financial assistance, technical support, and policy collaboration from the Central government to make Rajasthan a leading state in aviation-driven growth.

According to him, this ruling will boost the state's annual income by Rs 250 crore, ensuring greater financial stability. 'The Supreme Court's decision to increase royalty from 12 percent to 18 percent after the completion of the project period is historic and will make Himachal Pradesh economically self-reliant,' Shanta Kumar said, extending his congratulations to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and expressing gratitude to the Supreme Court. Recalling his contribution to introducing the royalty system, he said, 'I am happy that around 35 years ago, I had the privilege of convincing the Centre to accept the principle of royalty for hydroelectric projects when I was the Chief Minister. At that time, under Prime Minister Narasimha Rao's leadership, the Centre approved 12 percent royalty for hydro projects across the country.' Shanta Kumar also urged the state government to intensify efforts to reclaim the Jogindernagar Shanan hydro project, currently under dispute with Punjab. 'The Shanan project, operating on Himachal's land and water, rightfully belongs to Himachal Pradesh. The government must pursue this case with full determination in the Supreme Court,' he added. Terming the court ruling as a stepping stone towards economic prosperity, Shanta Kumar remarked that with full utilization of its hydroelectric potential, Himachal Pradesh could become one of the most prosperous states in India. Will develop Motihari like Mumbai: PM
Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said he would like eastern India to grow faster in keeping pace with the rapid global progress. 'Just like the eastern countries are advancing globally, it is the era of eastern states....I would like to see Motihari in the east develop as Mumbai in the west, Gaya in Bihar as developed as Gurugram and Patna should have industrial growth as in Pune,' said Modi, adding 'If eastern India has to advance, Bihar has to be transformed into a developed State.' The PM, who doled out sops worth Rs 7200 crore for the state, including three Amrit Bharat Express trains, besides road projects and other projects related to Electronics and Information Technology Department, said Bihar remained backward due to Centre's apathy. 'Hydrogen Valley' in Amaravati to focus on sustainability: CM
Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday announced that a 'Hydrogen Valley' will be set up in Amaravati to focus on sustainability and protecting nature. Addressing the 'Green Hydrogen Summit-2025' at a private college in the greenfield capital city, Naidu noted that two valleys are coming up in Amaravati -- 'Quantum Valley' and 'Hydrogen Valley'. "I am very happy. We are focusing on Hydrogen Valley starting from here (Amaravati). Two valleys are coming here. One is Quantum Valley for computing and technology (and) one is the green Hydrogen Valley to protect nature for sustainability. This is very important," said Naidu. According to the CM, protecting nature and imbibing technology in that endeavour will lead to limitless development. He observed that there is a need for green energy, downstream industries and the total ecosystem. Further, the TDP supremo highlighted that the southern state is aiming to contribute nearly 160 GW of green energy in the near future out of the national target of producing 500 GW by 2030 set by the Centre. He noted that the TDP-led NDA government announced policies for attracting Rs 10 lakh crore investment in green energy, which could lead to the generation of 7.5 lakh jobs. Listing out some of the green energy goals set by Andhra Pradesh, he said it aims to achieve electrolyser manufacturing capacity of 3 GW, solar energy projects (78.5 GW), wind energy projects (35 GW), pumped storage projects (22 GW) and others. Naidu said the state is aiming to achieve a battery energy storage system of 25 GW per hour, ethanol (50 kilo litres per day) and set up 500 electric vehicle recharging stations and elaborated on other renewable energy projects. To attract investments, Naidu said Andhra Pradesh has extended the best incentives, including for manufacturing electrolysers and called on investors to inform the government if any other state has given better incentives to outdo them. Further, he highlighted that Andhra Pradesh has all the advantages for solar, wind and pumped energy. As water is important for pumped energy, he said the state is endowed with this advantage and emphasised that ports are crucial for exports. For every 50 km distance, Naidu said Andhra Pradesh will establish a port, among other goals.
