At the TIME100 Gala, Blake said, 'I have so much to say about the last two years of my life, but tonight is not the forum.'
At the TIME100 Gala in April this year, Blake Lively indirectly pointed at her legal battle with her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni. The actress, who was named one of TIME Magazine's 100 influential people, spoke for six minutes at the event held at New York City's Lincoln Centre on April 24. At one point, Blake said, 'I have so much to say about the last two years of my life, but tonight is not the forum," and then shifted her focus to speak about 'the feeling of being a woman who has a voice today."
Weeks after her speech, Blake's sister, Robyn Lively, shared that she is 'proud" of her for speaking up. On May 10, the 53-year-old actress spoke to People at iHeartRadio's 102.7 KIIS FM Wango Tango in California and reacted to her sister's speech. She said, '(I'm) very proud. Just so you know, very proud," amid Blake's ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni.
Moreover, Robyn's husband, actor Bart Johnson, reiterated that both of them were 'super proud" of Blake's speech, where she also revealed how their mother, Elaine Lively, once faced a similar incident to hers. Bart added, 'That's a tough thing to navigate, so we're proud. To say we're proud is an understatement." The couple attended the concert with their daughter Kate.
Speaking of Blake's speech at the TIME100 Gala, the 'last two years" remark alluded to her ongoing legal battle with the actor-director Justin Baldoni. In December last year, Blake filed a complaint against him with the California Civil Rights Department, accusing him of sexual harassment and a smear campaign. In response, Justin filed a $400 million countersuit against Blake, her husband Ryan, their publicist Leslie Sloane and Vision PR Inc., alleging defamation and civil extortion.
In a recent development regarding the case, the Gossip Girl alum's legal team confirmed that she will be testifying when the trial begins in March 2026. Her lawyer, Mike Gottlieb, told the above-mentioned outlet, 'Yes. The ultimate moment for a plaintiff's story to be told is at trial. We expect that to be the case here. So we would, of course, expect her to be a witness at her trial. Of course, she's going to testify."
Her lawyer further made it known that other individuals who witnessed or experienced misconduct related to the case will also testify. However, there is no confirmation whether Blake's husband, Ryan Reynolds, would take the stand or not.

Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively legal battle NOT OVER; Director's Attorney says Judge dismissing $400 million lawsuit was 'not fair'

The Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni legal drama is reportedly far from over after a judge dismissed the director's $400 million lawsuit. The actor and director Justin Baldoni is reportedly unhappy with the recent court ruling against his 'It Ends With Us' co-star and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds . Baldoni's attorney, Bryan Freedman, addressed the decision during an appearance on TMZ Live Tuesday, stating, 'What was Justin's reaction? The same as mine — it's not fair. It's not right.' The legal dispute began in December 2024, with Blake accusing Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, of sexual harassment and running a smear campaign. In response, Baldoni and Wayfarer filed a $400 million defamation countersuit, which US District Court Judge Lewis J Liman dismissed on June 9, citing legal protections around statements made in lawsuits. Judge Liman's ruling also dismissed a separate $250 million libel lawsuit filed by Baldoni against The New York Times for its reporting on Lively's claims. However, the court granted Baldoni's legal team until June 23 to amend their lawsuit on specific claims related to breach of contract and tortious interference. With the latest twist to this legal saga, Freedman insisted the fight is far from over saying, "He [Baldoni] wants to be vindicated, and that's all that he cares about. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like How Middle-Class Americans Waste Money [Learn More] DollarPerks Learn More Undo He knows the truth, and he wants the truth to come out in the appropriate way. He's waiting for his day in court.' Freedman added that the legal team plans to move forward with the case, beginning with a deposition of Blake Lively scheduled for later this month. 'We're going to show there was no sexual harassment, no smear campaign. It's unfortunate to be wrongfully accused,' he said, while also claiming Lively is 'afraid of the truth.' On the same day, Lively's attorney, Mike Gottlieb, appeared on CNN and reiterated the actress's resolve. 'Blake is determined to see her claims through and pursue a full public accountability of what she's alleged happened to her,' he told host Jake Tapper.

Justin Baldoni clarifies ‘$650 million lawsuit against Blake Lively thrown out' claims, reveals what's really happened

Justin Baldoni has decided to continue his legal battle with It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively even after a judge dismissed his $650 million defamation lawsuit against Blake, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and The New York Times. (Also read: Blake Lively breaks silence on Justin Baldoni's $650 million lawsuit dismissal: 'Felt the pain of manufactured shame') In a statement given to Variety, Baldoni's lawyer Bryan Freedman said, "Ms. Lively and her team's predictable declaration of victory is false, so let us be clear about the latest ruling. While the court dismissed the defamation related claims, the court has invited us to amend four out of the seven claims against Ms. Lively, which will showcase additional evidence and refined allegations. This case is about false accusations of sexual harassment and retaliation and a nonexistent smear campaign, which Ms. Lively's own team conveniently describes as 'untraceable' because they cannot prove what never happened.' 'Most importantly, Ms. Lively's own claims are no truer today than they were yesterday, and with the facts on our side, we march forward with the same confidence that we had when Ms. Lively and her cohorts initiated this battle and look forward to her forthcoming deposition, which I will be taking. We are grateful for the organic show of support from the public and for the dedication of the Internet sleuth community, who continue to cover the case with discernment and integrity," the statement added. On Monday, Baldoni faced a major legal blow as judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed his countersuit against Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist, along with his defamation lawsuit against The New York Times. The court's decision ended the director-actor's $650 million legal battle, accusing them of extortion and defamation.
