Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), Qatar's leading digital bank, has signed a Business Partnership with PayLater, a Qatari fintech company specialising in Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) solutions. This partnership introduces, for the first time, a shari'a-compliant BNPL solution by a Qatari fintech, which enables customers to make purchases through flexible installment plans, promoting financial inclusion and supporting the growth of Qatar's digital economy.
The partnership brings together QIB's trusted banking expertise and PayLater's fintech innovation to offer seamless, shari'a-compliant financial solutions tailored to the evolving needs of consumers and merchants in Qatar.
Aligned with QIB's sustainability agenda and the Qatar Central Bank's (QCB) strategy to encourage collaboration between banks and fintech companies, the collaboration reinforces QIB's commitment to expanding digital financial services while supporting the local fintech ecosystem.

Tribune News Network Doha Huawei Qatar launched its innovative art initiative 'Go Paint' last week at Khalifa Secondary School for Boys and Amna Bint Wahb Secondary School for Girls. A total of 30 students took part in the creative workshop, which blended traditional drawing techniques with cutting-edge digital art tools using the latest and most popular Huawei MatePad devices. The art session at Khalifa Secondary School for Boys was led by renowned Qatari artist Hassan Al-Mutawa, who provided hands-on guidance to the students, encouraging them to express themselves artistically and embrace modern digital drawing methods. The initiative aims to foster student engagement with technology as a tool for creativity and artistic expression. Maryam Ali Al-Nusf Al-Buainain, director of the Department of Schools and Student Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), expressed her deep appreciation for Huawei's 'Go Paint' initiative. She praised the fruitful collaboration between the Ministry and Huawei, describing it as a successful model of public-private partnership in supporting Qatar's education system. She stated: 'We are proud of this unique partnership with Huawei, which has led to the implementation of outstanding art workshops that enhanced summer activities in schools with a creative and modern technological approach. These workshops gave our students the opportunity to explore their artistic talents and develop visual expression skills using contemporary tools and technologies aligned with the demands of the digital age.' She added: 'At the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, we place great emphasis on extracurricular activities as a vital component in shaping the student's holistic personality.
